I can't ever think of a time when I would actually want arsenal to win (perhaps unless they're playing Chelsea). It would've been good to see Hull turn them, but another contract for arsene isn't a bad result is it? :-)

I'm sorry little Spudling, but I don't recall your lot finishing above us in his era. But I guess if you've gotten so used to our shadow that you want him around a bit longer, then I guess you'll get your wish.

Cheerio.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahh, good old gooners. Finally win something and their first thought is us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Super Ted, the way you finished off Wigan and Hull was really special, it must really fill you up with promise! You lot have had soo much luck over the last few years its unbelievable, it will runout and and then your bang in trouble.

Great, well that caps a fine couple of years doesn't it. Got to listen to that lot crowing even more.
Get us a proven, decent manager, get us a decent left-back and another striker and get us an effing trophy or above that Woolwich

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 years in our shadow
Im sure Levy will get two or three good managers this year, lol
In Lord Wenger reign you have only one the carling cup.
Time to lock the doors and come over to the red side.
Your fast becoming the accrington stanley of the premiership

Agree0 Disagree0

We might of only won the carling cup in whingers reign, but it still says on the record books that we have both won one trophy each in the last 9 years.
Then again, I suppose if you win the charity shield in August, it will be the best trophy again and that will count as 2 trophies ;)
Tell you what, you can count that and we will count our Asia trophies :)
In all honesty, fair play to you for winning yesterday. At least the carpet has some company now in the library's trophy room.
Another thing, I bet your players were shocked today on your open top bus parade. It's the first time they have ever heard you sing. Bloody glory hunters the lot of ya :)

Agree0 Disagree0

COY
how r we trophy hunter, we only won one cup, lol
Mate we are BIGGER and BETTER then you FACT
every way.
It must be a nightmare for a kid being born on your patch, nope hope of winning the premieship, any good dad would say son don't follow in my footsteps, go to the red half and follow LORD WENGER.
Mr levy doing a wonderfull job for you, he buys players he sees on fifa13.

Agree0 Disagree0

A kid born on our patch would a true north london kid.
Any kid born in woolwich would be a true arsenal fan. Now that is a fact.
I like banter between spurs and arsenal fans but you are very easy.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - A cabbage patch kid?}

Very good Ed. Now that never crossed my mind. A cabbage patch kid would be born/made in one area and adopted to another area/owner. Life does mimic art in some cases.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Ars longa vita brevis.}

By the way, I wish levy would buy players he saw on fifa13.
Things could be worse though, Harry used to but players he saw on fifa2000!

Agree0 Disagree0

Very good Ed. You have just blown all the gooners away with that phrase though :) by the way, life is not short as a spurs fan :)

come under the red bannor of LORD Wenger

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You have got to be joking, I hope both Hudd and Livermore score and your big red bus gets stuck under the bridge in the high street!

Agree0 Disagree0

Londons topside lmao. How long since you won a trophy and you lot think its a 'mickey mouse cup'? The same 'lord wenger' you lot wanted out?

Sky have confirmed that spurs are negotiating pocchetino's contract, you've heard it here.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Actually I heard that on sky yesterday.
Not our sky but on sky italia.
Don't go jumping the gun just yet.
I'm very underwhelmed by the potential of having a manager like MoPo.
I can't see him being anything different to AVB. He has a couple of very good young players in his squad. Without them, he would probably of been bottom half of table. His win % is only about 40%. His win percentage in Spain was in the 30's. We need a bigger name to come in and grab all our, and the players, attention. Someone like Benitez, Mancini or ancelloti. If MoPo comes in, why would lloris, Verts and a few others want to stay? I'm seriously worried by what is maybe going to happen. This could drive us further away from the top 6. I really hope levy pulls a surprise but I really can't see it. I'm sure he would of done that before season ticket renewals closed but maybe he knows the waiting list will cover that. Can anyone seriously say MoPo is an upgrade on AVB or even Sherwood?

Agree0 Disagree0

His style is totally different to AVB. Sure they both tended to 4231 but whereas AVB went for higher pressure but slower possession based play, Poch has been more direct with getting the ball forward quickly to his creative players.

And as you say he took a bottom half (relegation possibility) club to 8th with just a couple of good players. A win percentage in the 40's is good for a club that was in the 1st division 3 years ago. AVB had 50%, as did Sherwood if you include the cups (his highest win %age was an anomoly of hardly drawing any games; he also had the worst loss %age).

But what he has done is get Southampton playing as a team and also improving players. Remember Lambert spent most of his career playing low league football. Now in his 30's is an unlikely time to peak by himself into an international. Poch (and Adkins I'd say) have to take credit for that. Who got better under Sherwood?

Poch may not be a better choice than Benitez or FDB, but he will be a big step up from Sherwood for the players and AVB for the style.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree wulf I think we should stop being pessimistic about what could go wrong and think about what could go right, our squad is underperforming. Bearing in mind our league position I think that allows some optimism. If players such as lamela and soldado become good hugo and vertonghen will have no reason to leave. Attractive winning football is what we need

Agree0 Disagree0

I have said it already but going to say it again. I am right behind the appointment of Poch! All this talk of win percentages etc is nonsense as it surely has to relate to the respective clubs doesn't it? Martinez had a win percentage of 28.8% at Wigan and I ain't going to repeat Tim Sherwoods win % as I think we are all sick of hearing it! I don't think I need to underline the point.

I am worried about all this negativity around the potential appointment of Poch, it just seems very typical and one thing is for sure doesn't lend itself to the patience that may be required!

Agree0 Disagree0

S.T.I.D.
That's because we've seen several appointments with 'potential' and none have worked. Poch has Southampton playing well and 8th for one season after 1 and a bit years, great, for them! Southampton have been over-performing year-on-year for several years in my opinion, hence their rise from League 2. I think Poch has done well but isn't the only reason and, not speaking any English in public is a big worry. If he communicates so clearly in English at the club then why not in a few interviews? Bit odd. Every new manager is a gamble but if you're trying to finally get some longer term stability (well even 3 years) then you can look to tick some obvious boxes to minimise the risk; proven winner of trophies, clear English speaking, managed in the league already, able to cope with and attract bigger names etc

We all know we need a big name manager a van gaal, Benitez, Du Boer, or ancelloti a title wining manager. All of us fans can see it so why can't Lewis/Levy? They will go for the bargain basement option yet again and sell the club and all us fans short yet again. Who ever gets the job I will support 100% and if Lewis/levy get this wrong again after De Boer has openly courted the job then I'm afraid they will have to do one an
d let someone who cares about the club own and run it!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good point pike but you are missing one big point. Why do levy/Lewis need to sell when they are obviously coining pocket loads?
They don't give a sh*t about us. Almost every spurs fan can see that MoPo would be the wrong choice. How they can't see it is very scary and they are running OUR club.

Agree0 Disagree0

COYMFS
agree totally mate.
How much have you wasted on paying out managers, Levy a joke

Agree0 Disagree0

MoPo is our typical choice; unproven gamble. This time Levy will have to give him at least 2 seasons and so if he's out of his depth we're in for a long and rough ride for another 3-4years. Needs to be Ancelotti, Benitez, LVG or Hiddink type appointment if at all possible. If we're going to gamble again then just give it to Hoddle ffs, at least he'll get the benefit of the doubt from us fans for a while.
