Starting to think that with no news or naming of new manager or future plans , a) not Van gal but boss currently employed and can't be named till after season ends . Ponchechetti Or Martinez .B) same old for next season Ts and another season of mediocrity although he seems to be slating DL and stating we should not of sold bale won't go down well although its the truth what a mess at the lane . please let the season end fed up .

Even if there has been a new manager appointed now is not the time to name them. Why is there such a rush? Four games to go, let's see out the end of the season and then changes can be made as necessary.

Seasons over wulf four games probably you could write script now, two losses' starting tomorrow one draw one win, a bagful of poor performances and poor football and shed loads of excuses, same old for a long time everyone knows there's something going on and there is a dark cloud over the lane, want the truth now clear the air and decks, so I can look forward to next season were there's 38 games and we know who's leading us and the direction were going want leadership none on field, touchline or boardroom that's my point .

Or a manager that is in charge of a country playing World Cup football. He will not want any distraction, or press questions, that would deflect from his job in hand. If no announcement is made prior or during the world cup, then it's safe to say, we may know the direction we are heading.
As correctly pointed out to me by ed a few months ago, the futures bright, the futures tangerine and not orange.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not saying it isn't over in that sense, but if the new person isn't going to come in now then why the need to announce it? All it will do is cause media hype on the new guy and result in an uncomfortable distraction.

Like I said there's only 4 games left and nothing to play for. What's the difference between now and in a month's time?

There's no dark cloud (except perhaps due to the smog).

United fan here! Was just wondering if any Spurs fans agree that Daniel Levy is the person most hurting your team? While all the big rivals go out and spend money from sponsorship and revenue, Levy only seems to want to break even using transfer money?

I disagree, although it is quite right that you have noticed that in terms of net spend Spurs have been consistently the lowest of the PL teams. Average transfer spending over the last 5 years has been £0.

However there is no correlation between transfer fee spent and league success. The relationship is in wages paid. As Spurs are the 6th richest PL team that is where you should expect to consistently see us. Account for the pattern that at least one of the teams above us tends to take a nose dive for a year or two (this year it was you guys, year before Liverpool, year before Chelsea) then we would expect to come around 5th, and that's pretty much what we have been doing.

For me this points to a club that is par for the course, to borrow another sport's term. It certainly is a far cry from the pre ENIc era, where despite Spurs still being a top 6 club in terms of finances we were never a top 6 club in league position. In the Sugar days there was the odd flutter with relegation (2 seasons where only 4 points split us and the drop). After a couple years of ENIC involvement and not only was that idea gone, but now CL is a realistic target every year.

Should we do better? Us fans always think so. For me the only thing lacking has been a manager that can take us the extra step. You can't accuse ENIC of not trying to find one of those (although you can accuse them of trying too hard and sacking the incumbent too frequently). Redknapp for me was the baseline of a manager that adds nothing but also detracts nothing - and yes I believe that many many managers do more harm than good. AVB was not much better. Sherwood was always a stop gap.

Who is going to be next? We dream of LVG but will probably get Mark Hughes.

can I just offer my congratulkations to gareth bale a fantastic goal straight from the grass of white hart lane, its a fact when the barca guy tried to take him out most players would have gone to ground but not gareth a quality goal from a world class player and for a short while he was ours, good luck gareth in all you do I hope you get champions league and win the lot this season then you can come home to the best team in the world, good luck mate forever a part of spurs
