our strongest team I believe.

Lloris
Walker Vert Daws Roose
Dembele Paulinho
Lamela Erikson Sigg
Soldado

I really liked the look of Cappoue (spelling) but really can't see AVB dropping Dembele. Ciriches(spelling) I believe will be good but can we drop our captain? I think Townsend, Lennon and Sigg are all better than Chadli from what I've seen so far

Good choice.
Mine would be:

Lloris
Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Rose
Sandro Dembele/Paulinho
Townsend Eriksen Lamela
Soldado

Cannot make my mind up on Dembele or Paulinho. Paulinho will definitely get more goals and make runs for Eriksen to find him, but Sandro & Dembele were the best CM pair in the PL at the beginning of last year. Would pick Townsend over Lennon purely on form. Maybe have Sigurdsson over Lamela right now but in a few months time Lamela will be the star!

Think it's stupid having Dawson as captain as it looks wrong if he is dropped. He may set the right examples and play with his heart on his sleeve but he ain't good enough. Vertonghen should be captain imo. Chiriches and Kaboul are both better than Dawson so I disagree with the above team. I wouldn't have Dembele in the team either on current form.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with you on Dawson but not on Dembele, Cockney. Dembele had been playing in tha Eriksen position for the first 3 games of the season. Against Norwich he was played in his more familiar CM role with Paulinho and had a great game on made the PL team of the week. It's no so much his form, Cockney, more the fact he was playing in an unfamiliar position to the one he played last season. I think he looked great on the weekend, so on current form he would get in my team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hass, good point but I just think Dembele hasn't got much end product at present regardless of his position but he has loads of potential. I feel he has stagnated a bit and needs to offer more.

does anyone/ed know what length deals we got our new players on

thanks {Ed001's Note - all bar Capoue and Soldado until 2018, those two are on 4 year deals, so they run out in 2017.}

wow, what a player erickson is there must be one or two teams guuted out there for not securing his signiture. hanson writes that he cannot understand loserpool not going for this kid and spending 25million on two defenders, he goes onto say that he (erickson) may be the difference between champs league or europa cup. it turns out we wanted him but loserpool didn't seem to want him enough, good call brendan (not) {Ed001's Note - actually he had made it clear he was not interested in moving to Liverpool, nothing to with a Brendan's call. Liverpool were interested early in the window. Mind I hardly see why Liverpool would want him, there is Coutinho playing the exact same role, no need for him too. Lamela and Chadli are the players Liverpool should have targeted of yours, not Eriksen.}

I thought he stated last season that he wanted liverpool to come out and vie for his signiture as he was quite interested but rogers didn't seem too interested at the time. I think this is what hansen was refering to when he says that they missed a trick there. I only say this because I was gutted at the time that he may go to a rival for fourth spot. couthino is ok whlilt fit should anything happen then they will come up short and at 12 million it was well within budget {Ed001's Note - he whored himself out to everyone, but then wanted to hold on and not move until the end of the window, just in case Barca or Madrid showed interest. Spurs were willing to wait, Liverpool weren't, and were amongst a number of clubs around Europe that didn't like the way he was talking up moves to numerous clubs. Being willing to not walk away after an initial rejection, while the lad was trying to drum up other interest, has meant Spurs got him. Though they were always the most likely club in English football to sign him, they were his preferred option.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for that ed, I can't blame the lad for wanting to go to the best club he could I think we would all prefer barca or madrid (ask bale). out of curiosity who did liverpool sign instead of eriksen as you say they were not prepared to wait.

ps glad he was a whore and we got him {Ed001's Note - he was looking for the best deal for him, but that is not always the best deal for the clubs interested, so it worked out well in the end. Liverpool tried to sign the Armenian lad, Mkhitaryan, also had a look at a few others, but ended up not actually signing anyone for that position. The plan was to sign a left sided forward instead, so that Coutinho could take that place, but that proved difficult. Luckily Henderson is playing well enough for it not really to be an issue, as things stand, though it might prove costly later in the season if injuries hit. Though it must be said Ibe, Sterling, Dunn and a few others from the U21s look more than capable of filling in when needed. Personally I would have kept hold of Suso and used him, rather than trying to sign anyone anyway, I really rate that lad, he is going to be special. The Spanish built their youth teams around him, they don't do that round average players, especially when the player is not a Barca or Madrid lad! As for Eriksen, he is where he would have chosen to go in England anyway, so it really didn't work out badly for him or you.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers ed I hear that suso had a cracking game the other day so maybe you are right on that one {Ed001's Note - he has been excellent, someone was saying his stats were the best in La Liga after the first couple of games. Better than Messi and Ronaldo, despite playing for lowly Almeria! Having said that, as he plays for Almeria, he is able to be the focal point for everything, which helps improve the stats. I have to say, I was surprised by Eriksen, there was never a doubt about his ability, but the times I had seen him play, he looked a bit slow, sluggish even, off the pace in the Dutch league and internationals. Maybe he just needed the move to rejuvenate him? Sometimes players need a change, especially when it is too easy, they need a challenge to raise their game.}
