Sorry Guys. I have lost the Plot here. All these so callled Rumours and speculation about comings and goings?

Surely what we need to find out is WHY is this so called squad of talented footballers almost to a man look like they don't give a monkees about the fans or the Club.

The way I feel I would get rid of the Lot, apart from Kane and Eriksen on Saturday who else looked like they could be bothered.

Someone explain to me why you think LvG can motivate this squad where TS cannot please, because what I see is total ineptitude at a serious level out there.

Andy Carroll will take our trousers down big time in a few weeks time

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Because LVG has a record of motivating players, whereas TS openly criticises them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not that we have a bad squad just bad tactics. Playing with a back line to far up the field. Playing people out of position and not playing to key players strengths. That was same under AVB as TS nothing changed. We were to easy to get behind and to easy to counter attack. All management failings. Get in Klopp, pochittino, De Boer, or lvg and see a difference

Agree0 Disagree0

Whoever the new manager is or is not.

The back line needs to be rebuilt, high line or not the general quality with few exceptions, and he appears to want out, is simply not good enough for the sharp end of the PL.

If it remains unaddressed during the summer we might play prettier football but the end result next season will not be much better than this.

I feel so wiped out after Saturday that I am questioning everything I ever thought. What is wrong with our Team? How have we got to this Guys? If it were October we would be a candidate to go down. Saturday was just the worst I can recall since were relegated.

I note all the posts about Everton but I think this whole loan system is a total farce, The Prem League should ban it or at lesat to Clubs in your own Division. If you can't afford to buy the players why should you get them for free (No Fee) How can that be fair. I am sick to the back teeth of hearing about how Great Martinez is They could nt afford Milner, Lukaku or Delafou It's all wrong. The loan system encorgaes teams like Man City and Chelsea to buy up players and lend them out to who ever they want.

As for my beloved Spurs, I just don't know what to think. We cannot blame all this on Sherwood. Most of those players look like they don't give a monkees. It's ridiculous you can't even just sack them. They get paid a king's ransome every week to just run out on a pitch and play garbage.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Can't see the fuss about the loan system personally, I think it shows great business sense and leadership. Funny how nobody had a problem when Townsend was at QPR and Rose was at Sunderland. By complaining about the system we just sound bitter that Everton have done better than ourselves this year. Also if Everton sign them players then surely the loan system works?

Agree0 Disagree0

Everton fans will argue that they are a bigger club than spurs but they rely on loans after receiving all that Premiership money I too think the loan system is wrong. Maybe one u21 but that's it for Premiership clubs.

How did we benefit from Rose loan? He is utter rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurski, that last sentence was a corker!

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't have a problem with the loan system, and considering it's there why wouldn't other teams utilise it

It allows younger players to get some playing time, and show what they can do, whilst also allowing a trial of sorts if the team want to buy the player in the future.

If they can't afford to replace the players at the end of the season then they will be back to square one anyway (although I can only see Everton improving)

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurski, they rely on loans so what? Surley that's better than spending 30mill on a player and not using him?
Like 91 said it's like a trial for clubs with some players. Also for the player themselves.
The amount of fans I hear saying we need to get our young players out on loan to premiership clubs is a lot, how can we do that if the loan system is changed?
I didn't say it benifited us loaning out Rose just that it's the same principal. In fact it had a negative effect because it meant we didn't get a new lb but that's another story.

Agree0 Disagree0

I just don't agree with the loan system, especially a so called big team like Everton.

Everton won't pay what Chelsea would want for Lukaku and I doubt if Barcelona would sell Delefou.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough Spurski I appreciate what your saying and all I was saying was it makes sense on a business sense as like you rightly said they loan a player in and pocket the premiership money, great from a team who otherwise would not be able to compete with the big spenders.
I wouldn't be so sure on Lukaku, why wouldn't he stay there if they get champions league? They'll have the money and he'll have first team football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Loans are a resource. It is equal and open to all teams. That's a lot fairer than the financial system we have between clubs. Why is it fair that Manchester City can have a better football team than Fulham simply because they have more resources in a way that is not related to on the pitch activities?

If Everton used their resources to get Lukaku for a year and we did not, well then they deserve to do better.

Appoint Pochittino or De Boer then stick with them for at least 3-5 yreas to get some stability into the club. Let them have a greater input into transfers or get Baldini out too. Let them stand or fall on players the want. Levy to concentrate on stadium and let manager do his job unhindered.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd really love to know what evidence people have that transfers over the last few years (unrealistic targets aside) have not been the choice of the manager.

And if you say 'the papers' then please let me know where they got their information. My view is still that the managers did have a lot of choice. The players bought over the summer were very AVB types of players, and correspond to things he wanted to do and requested (2 players in each position, a central double pivot, ball playing defenders, and inverted wingers). Sherwood himself said that Levy offered him the chance to sign players in January and Sherwood declined saying how good the players he had were.

I've not seen a single piece of evidence to the contrary, just people's personal opinions about the DoF position.

So please, if you have evidence then share it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry if I made that sound if I was suggesting manager doesn't have a say in signings. Truth is no one knows and there is never any clarification on that. Club should tell us how things are structured and then stick to it. D of F then none then another. Thought levy realised with commoli that D of F don't work to well.

Agree0 Disagree0

The fact is, most teams would have loved nearly all those players, they don't go bad overnight . Therefore, why can't the managers motivate them to play? It seems that both AVB and TS has a problem with these players!1

Agree0 Disagree0

Ant, why should the club come out and clarify anything with the fans? We are only customers to the club nothing more. You don't expect other big company's to explain themselves do you?

Agree0 Disagree0

You would if it was failing and you were pumping money in to it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think ENIC are pumping money in. Look at our net transfer spend, not just for last year but the 4 years before it.

Agree0 Disagree0

We pump money into all different types of company's and don't expect an explanation as to what is going on. Did you request answers when HMV went into administration or when woolworths went bust?
The people who get to ask the questions have money invested in the club and a hell of a lot of it, the others are just funding a business the same as any other company. It's a sad truth but a truth nonetheless.
All clubs love fans to have the illusion it's like it used to be and it's all for the fans because it means you part with your cash easier.
Don't get me wrong I wish it was like it was back in the old days but unfortunately clubs are a business first and the rest follows.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Spurs1985 but that is rubbish, you go to a retailer, buy a product and pretty much get what you pay for, and you're protected by a Sale of Goods Act if not.
A football club is an institution that exists mainly due to fans (at all levels) and certainly (in the hugely commercialised manner in which it is run today) definitely relies on those supporters parting with cash ongoing; tickets, memberships, merchandise, TV subscriptions etc etc.
The two are not comparable in that respect and if they were, your point is flawed because what happened to those two businesses? They went pop, ultimately because they did not deliver what customers wanted and so their sales dropped and losses became unsustainable - they stopped offering enough of what people wanted to buy.

Agree0 Disagree0

And if the club doesn't provide want the fans want to buy . how long before there are empty seats at the Lane.

The library had empty seats scattered throughout last night for the game against wet spam . You think that makes the business people pay attention . you bet it does.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Simmo but it's not utter rubbish you may disagree with it but there are many truths in what I wrote.
So when you go to a spurs game do you not get to see a football match? That's what they are offering and you buy it so you get what you paid for, same as with a retailer as you said.

I never said the club doesn't rely on their fans for the business to run same as a retailer needs it's customers to survive.

My argument isn't flawed in the way that the reason HMV went into administration was purely down to new age shopping and ability to download music straight from home also being able to get DVDs delivered to your house. Add on top of that how expensive HMV is and you get a company in trouble.

As with us fans we don't care on a whole how ridiculously priced things become we just blindly pay it. That is the illusion every club loves and any business will try to achieve.

All that said I don't want to create any drama from this I was just asking the question as to why anybody thinks the club need to explain themselves because unless all of the millions of fans stop supporting, then I can't see the club going into a panic.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs1985
I'm bit being dramatic and despite using the word rubbish do not mean to be offensive. I don't disagree with various points you make in a factual sense but the comparison of the two purchases and business models is way apart. You don 't have an emotive lifelong bond with a retailer like you would your football club and, your transactional purchase of a DVD or other item is a one-off every team you buy. Football, despite the owners and investors being in control, is not the same - yes you buy a football match in simple terms but how many of us do that who would go and buy another football match down the road if we don't like the one Spurs sell us? Yes we all pay the money, blindly if we can afford it but, does that excuse a club to take that for granted and leave fans disillusioned, disappointed and left angry or upset no matter what? Even if they just don't care about that at all, it is not conducive to success to alienate your fans (customers) but it can definitely be a catalyst to massive failure. How many of us would blindly pay more and more for bottom-half football with no prospect of more?

Agree0 Disagree0

Simmo,
First of I want to say I took no offence from your post and understand that "posting" can sometimes read different than it's meant. So no harm done and I appreciate you explaining that.
I do know the comparisons are far fetched but felt it was the easiest way to explain my point as I couldn't think of another way without confusing it.
You are right though football clubs offer something which you can't buy and in many walks of life isn't attached to a purchase (ie love for family or friends) in which you will blindly do anything you can to help and support them.
But doesn't mean the club should explain their actions just because we choose to help and support them and that was my main point.
Anyway it's been an interesting discussion and look forward to many more with yourself as I do enjoy reading the majority of what you write. Keep it up fella and let's keep blindly supporting our team till the end of the season lol.
Much love.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's definitely been blind loyalty this season mate. All the best to you.
