Livermore should be turned into a centreback imo. He has no chance of staking a claim to a guaranteed choice in midfield. He was good against Everton but theres something about him that panics me when he is on the ball, a bit like Bassong. I reckon Parret, Luongo and Nicholson are all better in his position.

{Ed008's Note - Livermore should be turned into waterboy. Awful player i agree with Guvnor loses possesion all the time.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

I actually know Livermore because i live in Enfield. He is a top bloke once you get to know him. Huge potential. Trust me, he will be a great english prospect. Still learning the game but once he know it, he will be the next Scotty P.

{Ed008's Note - I hope your right and proves me wrong everytime i watch him im disappointed. He could be a good player.

Why are some people so negative about JL? The kid broke his leg twice when he was younger! He's only played a handful of games and provided good cover for Parker/Sandro against Everton. Give the boy a chance for christs sake, Parker was hardly pulling up trees for years before doing well at the spammers.

Agree5 Disagree2

Well said mo, I don't get the Livermore abuse either. I think some people are getting ahead of themselves and expect even our 4th choice dm to be on the level of parker. This is his 1st season at the top level, and at the end of the day, redknapp rates him, and I'm pretty sure he knows a lot more about football than anyone on this site!

@Oracle if the Cahill to Chelsea transfer is as you put it an elaborate farce to drive up his price orchestrated by AVB and Coyle,

(that sounds ridiculous by the way)

they are certainly putting on a big show as multiple media sources now have him heading for a medical at Chelsea,

I could be wrong and at the moment as far as I am aware it is only speculation about the medical, but far more believable than your frankly ludicrous story,

Cant beleive what im reading on here tbh regarding Adebayor. He is almost as good as it gets in the lone striker role, Llorente is quality but is he as mobile or dynamic? No he aint.
Adebayor has missed a few and should have at least 7,8 more goals than now but dont forget about everything else he does for the team. He is a nightmare for centerbacks, very difficult to handle.
Sell Pav get someone better (not hard), then get either Shiqiri, Hazard or Eriksen and we shall destroy the premiership!
Loic Remy, no thanks.

I agree ... Adebayor has been excellent for us ... Granted he has wasted a few shots or been offside quite a few times ... But what he's done for us has been terrific to watch..
And done us better than crouch or pav could ever do ... People are being quite greedy for disliking him wasting a few shots ...
Also after the game against everton I must admit I was worried knowing livermore was the steel to our midfield in place of Parker and sandro ... He proved me wrong and I am thankful he did ... Very good display if Parker is still out for wolves I hope he's as good as weds night

{Ed008's Note - Livermore is still a awful player.

Come on Ed , he aint that bad . Ade is a good player but he is not worth £160k a week . Also he misses more than a few , if things are checked I would say 50 % . He has been good for us theres no doubt about that , but we need a predatory goal scorer . We have too many games where we have had the chances and havent killed the game off !!
Davo

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree with Davo. Adebayor is great for an on loan striker, but if we are going to spend 160k a week (and thats ignoring a transfer fee), I'd rather someone else. Maybe Cavani, who seems more clinical?
{Ed008's Note - If Adebayor loved football he would take a wage drop no other club in the world would pay such ridiculous wages for someone of Adebayor's calibre. I hope he stays permanently but he needs to half his wages and get back to the real world. FACT!

Agree2 Disagree0

Ed , you hit the nail on the head . Ade is a good player but thats it ! As you said nobody would pay £160k a week for a player of his calibre , so is he the player we want . I know we cant pay that sort of money but there are better , younger , and cheaper strikers out there who we could get on wages we can afford !
Davo

Agree0 Disagree1

For me, Ade is a bit of a Heskey. The team defo play better for him being there, and some great lay-offs but Lord he misses a lot of chances. A lot! He is indeed a handful for defences, but what use is that if you don't finish. I may be in a minority of one. but I would like to see a more accurate striker get on the end of all these chances the other lads create.

Ship out the unwanted on the cheap
Pav,gio,bassong,jenas,Bentley,corluka
*although still a better option for back up than bassong ... So maybe keep specially if the prices we could get for him is like 2m ...
Gomes, pienaar, and the reserves that are not progressing ie obika, alnwick,
Possibly naughton as really walker has taken rb with force and don't see naughton being anywhere near as good ...
And we have what ? 20-25 m ?
Not to mention all the freed wages
And why not go all out for someone like cavani ? Or is that just losing to much depth for a risk as he's never been proven prem ?
Just a thought

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Cavani...even better .... HESKEY. Joking but cavani will never come

Would Man City turn down £20million+ for Tevez even from us? Probably but they would like some kind of decent fee for him and Milan and Inter not banging the door down yet. Given how Man City and him have falken out then it must be worth a shot of offering him £100k a week with the 'come and nick the title from City with us' and we'll put a get-out clause in your contract of £20million. Short-termist move but I'd be happy with an 18 game spell that results in us winning the Premiership!! A player like Tevez could tear it up with how we play at the moment.

A pipe-dream but if not Tevez then worth trying Drogba which would be cheaper but I'm sure still effective for us, he WILL score goals. Damio more realistic but then again you'd think that might've happened in the Summer. Negredo or Llorente next on the try list.

Shaqiri would be great for some wide cover as Lennon being out made us narrower and Bale will miss games at some point, gets chopped a lot and one will smart soon.

I think we can manage at CB for the rest of the season between Ledley, Gallas, Daws and Kabooom but if buying one then Vertinghen would be my preference BUT Samba does have the Prem experience to drop straight in if needed.

One of the top strikers and Shaqiri and we really could win the league "it's not impossible" HR

Fact is city won't sell to us ...
As much as that would be one of the most awesome things to happen in football it won't ..

Anybody heard any rumours of a possible successor to harry?
We are on a hi and no doubt will exceed all expectations this season. The call for harry to take over from Capello is a no brainer; I just hope Levy is ahead of this.
For what its worth the only name I can think of (yes only speculate) is hiddiink?
Any ideas?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Moyes and sherwood from the youth team are continually linked; it would have been interesting to see what moyes can do with actual money, and rumour has it sherwood is being groomed 4 the role. Ancelloti was the preferred option b4 he went 2 psg. Hiddink probably wouldn't favour a move back to day to day club management though.

Slaven Bilic for me watch croatia play its a mirror image of watching spurs, he's out of contract after euros so no compensation, good friends with daniel levy by all accounts so he'd be my tip,
As for British based Brendan Rodgers or as an outsider Malcy Mackay at Cardiff really rate him as a coach.
