Hey fellas. Liverpool fan.
It's thru gritted teeth that I say this, it's a terrific, very exciting project you have going down there. The business you've done the past couple of windows has been nothing of brilliant.
Vertonghen, Dembele, Paulinho, Soldado and possibly Capoue and the Serbian kid, I think you've to give it to Levy, who often comes in for huge stick. He's managed to bring in top quality whilst keep the books healthy and balanced.

As I wrote in our page, there's a sense of real progression about your club. Bale or no Bale, you on the verge of something special here. Obviously things would be all the sweeter and smooth if you could secure your talisman's future. However, even without him, there's a genuine feeling that now you are ready to make the step up, and stay up.

I honestly don't see any reason why you couldn't finish in the top 3 positions.

Goodluck for the season, lads. You've always gone about things the right way and with class and dignity. Respect.

Great post from the LFC fan
It proves that other teams are seeing / appreciating the revolution AVB is bringing. I'm sure many teams are envious of the players coming in ( as we have been for years with others).
I also hope LfC come back again and replace those lucky lucky gooners but Spurs are moving rapidly into the force we all crave & this season is going to be soooooooo exciting. Come on you Spurs!

Eds am I right that capoue hasn't officially been announced yet and why is that when his medical was supposed to have been on Sunday.
There were photos with him at some conference strange or did I miss something?
Cheers
Marc {Ed002's Note - I have no idea when he will be announced.}

If bale is going to go can levy get it done quickly, can see it dragging on until the last week [usual levy tactics]tryingto screw RM for an extra 4 or 5 million and wrecking the start of our season and costing us 30 or 40 million when we fail by 1 point to qualify for champion's league.

Okay not quite sure what to make of this. Read a couple of articles that we are after Troy Deeney from Watford. Now tv are reporting we have an interest in him. He has had one prolific year in the CHAMPIONSHIP! & has recently just come out of prison. I know he'll be back up to Soldado but surely Defoe is a better option. I'm not one to question AVB and his signings so far have been very exciting. Just feel this is a bit of a panoc/needless buy

Hi wanted to know what my fellow spurs fans and ed would think of this idea. Glasgow rangers are currently going through hard times in Scotland but what about spurs doing a partnership with them which wld allow them to get some of our youngsters on loan when there embargo ends and would also allow us first option on there talented youngsters like Lewis Macleod. I know Hutton wasn't overly impressive but I think this wld be a great move

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sorry mate but rangers and scotland in general have nothing to offer tottenham, hope this clears this up for you

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't know how you can say Scotland have nothing to offer when Celtic done as well in the champions league.

Agree0 Disagree0

Please, celtic or rangers and then what? both teams would struggle in the championship let alone the premiership, they did do well for once in the champions leauge but remember they qualify each year so the odds on them having one good outing are good. I stand by my previous post

A lot still hinging on whether Bale stays or not, not just because of his class but because he is very much the missing piece as far as strikers go with his new free-role and goals. Now we have Soldado plus Ade and Defoe it's fine, lose Bale (or one of the others) and we have the same problem as last season; no cover!
Before that it's urgent centre-back time, if Capoue is not coming then get Alderweireld ASAP, given the Chiriches complications. One way or another there is a choice out of 3x £7-8m deals there to solve a potentially big problem so it has to happen quick.
Eriksen for £15m or anything like that seems like a steal and a Levy buy for sure. Forget Wiliam at his price, no comparison.
If Bale does leave last minute then we have to make sure we get Morata or Rodriguez in on at least a season-loan. I'd go for Ljajic or somebody like that rather than throwing a 'panic' £20-30m on Lamela.
The Coentrao deal is fine if it's a settlement on Modric money (still means up to last season was well in the black on transfers for 3years)
Bale stays, sign a CB and Eriksen and we've spent about £72m. Sell Hudd and Gomes, income will total about £20m.
With previous window profits and TV money increases, that's £50m ish that we should be able to afford without selling Bale. It would feel very much like a top 4+ SQUAD and not just having a top 4 first XI TEAM.

Sounds like Ericsson want to come to us! I wouldn't bother with Capoue and get Ericsson instead, paulinho can play the defensive if sandro get injured with dembele and Ericsson can be the modders esc playmaker in a 433 leaving Lennon, chadli (bale if he stays) and Soldado up top.

Eriksen & Capoue are two different player, and Spurs would be sensible to get both. Paulinho 'could' cover DM position but he is more of a box to box player. The team needs either Sandro or Capoue to protect the back four. If Sandro gets injured, and Capoue is not signed, then the team would go backwards; look at last season after Sandro got injured.
Eriksen looks to be the creative signing the club has needed since they let go of Modric and Van der Vaart. He is young and hugely talented and, it would appear, interested in moving to the club. If club signs Eriksen, Capoue & Alderweireld, then Spurs will have an excellent season; regardless of whether Bale stays or goes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Paulinho plays a more defensive role for brazil so he can't be to bad at it, just saying I think it's a more creative player we need.
