Raver, just a thought. What would you class as not doing well? Just seeing as we made it to a cup final this year and are going to end up finishing in the top end of a very difficult league I'm interested to know what he needs to achieve to appease you? Breaking into the top four consistently is no easy feat and we sure as hell are not winning the league next year so apart from the achievements he has made this year what are we to expect in your opinion?

What achievements?

Although I don't want Europa league so i'm not fussed about losing its the way we are losing. Our players look clueless.

Pochettino has no plan b and his team selection is worrying. Why didn't he play Yedlin as right back? Why carry on picking Mason who has been shocking for a while?

We were unbelievably bad against Stoke and Pochettino said ' the spirit was good when we went to 10 men'! Lol. Really?

Dont just pick on Raver spurs85 there is plenty of disillusioned fans out there.

1985 - you and I pretty much agree on most things in principle . But the one thing we disagree on is the performance of the team. Ok we played at Wembley and will finish in the Top 7 and most likely be playing on Thursday nights next season.

But the quality of performances and results by this team under this manager have been getting worse not better - that has to be worrying for any supporter. Performance in the league over the last 4 months or so would have us in the bottom half . Is that progress?

But yet not a reply to my question, what is going to be seen as progress? All I can assume from both replys is, Aslong as we play well all is OK. So if we get relegated and play well that is progressing is it? Playing Yedlin does nothing but destroy his confidence if he's not yet ready so don't understand why everyone feels he should play, what has he done in your opinion to warrant a place on the team? He's a new player that's the only reason imo. We have got to accept we need to take a step back for a year or two to move forward otherwise we get a new manager with a new system and have to start over then eventually we become so far from where we want to be and will end up just like Villa. It's funny that when we were after Benteke that's exactly what Villa fans were telling us and I can see it happening if we can't find the patience required.

spurs 1985, what achievments we are playing crap boring football. the defence is a shambles we have no creativity in midfield bar erikksen. the only striker we have is kane the other 2 could not score in a brothel. we are going backwards not forwards. I would not call a league cup final a success as most of the big teams play the reserves in that cup. the size of our club we should be winning fa cups or europa leagues and challenging top 4.

1985 - progress would be a team that performs as if they train together and have been motivated and are committed. Winning points is measurable progress, but the later part of this season we have not been doing that. We have performed like a team in the bottom half of the table and have the points total over the last 4 months or so that would equate to a team in the bottom half of the table. In my opinion we performed like a team in the bottom half of the table for most of the season but escaped with late goals in games when we were not good enough.

If MoPo is the great manager, then adjusting his tactics to use the players he has available should not be beyond the realm of unrealistic. He's had 2 transfer windows, and yet the excuse is he doesn't have the players for his system. Next year will be hailed as another transition as the new players have to integrate with the survivors from this team.

And maybe we will see a Plan B evolve when MoPo has "his" players - but I'm beginning to doubt MoPo has one.

6.) 11 May 2015
11 May 2015 21:51:05
I wasn't at all saying Mopo is a great manager that is still in doubt I'm just saying we require consistency to actually grow as a team. We will continue to have transitional seasons if we keep changing managers. We've been saying the same things over the last few seasons and will continue saying the same things if the manager keeps changing. Let's just accept what we got and hope for the best, after all its not been all that bad. Raver your opinion changes with every result so until you actually get an opinion based on knowledge of the game your comments will never be taken seriously. I remember you saying how great we were after beating Chelsea and we was going to get top four. Now we are dreadful and havn't performed well all season. Your constant moaning is typical of spurs fans and you embarrass yourself constantly.

Yellowcard - With some of the dross Mopo inherited don't you think he's doing what he can with what he's got? Pauliniho is supposed to be our main midfielder, supposedly controls the game and is a Brazilian Lampard. Best joke I've ever heard. Lamela was supposed to lessen the burden of losing Bale, second best joke ever. Then Soldado was supposed to be our goal machine that drove us into top four, the only one I feel sorry for but a striker is judged on goals and he's been no more than a complete waste of money. Just with those 3 examples I've taken away 3 players who should've made us better than we was, should've made us a top four team. In there place we have, Kane, Mason and Townsend, get my point yet? Just incase you don't understand I'll explain. We've replaced 3 supposedly world class players with 3 players still learning and improving, maybe not ready yet. Like I said making the best out of what he's got.
Mopo has been saying all season that the young players would feel the strain come the end of the season so this slump should not come as a surprise As he was clearly right. Progression this year? Depends what you were exexpecting. A top manager? No there's no proof of that. A complete disaster of a season? No not at all, I think we see it that way as we always want more.
Lastly, if your expecting Mopo to have a plan b then your going to be dissapointed as I work with a saints fan and he told me when we signed him that he didn't. Now that can be perceived as a negative yes I agree but if your so confident in your system then you set it up then it's down to the opposition to work out a way to beat you. Whether this is a good or a bad thing is to be seen.

But these 3 players weren't dross before they came to us. May not have been worth what we paid for them, but they weren't dross.

Fazio, Benjie both signed since MoPo arrived - neither seems likely to make it.

Dier, Davies, Yedline and Alli - too young to make a decision. Not sure Davies will be around too long either though.

So of the 7 signed (almost forgot Vorm) since MoPo's arrival - 3 are likely on their way out or just bit part squad players at best. Three are prospects, hopefully MoPo can have the same impact on them he had on Rose and still be here to reap the rewards.

What is my point? Well it seems the club is unsure what a player that fits MoPo's philosophy is.

8.) 12 May 2015
12 May 2015 09:02:47
Well no they wasn't so as I was saying they was supposed to push us onto the next level which they didn't for whatever reason. Which means Mopo has done well to find players to replace these players within the club. Benji was bought because we couldn't get sneidelin, was he Mopos choic? I doubt it. Fazio yes obviously was his choice but was that as a temporary player until he'd evaluated his Squad? Who knows the thinking behind It.
Well it would appear by comments I've read that Mopo hasn't had much control over transfers but will get more this summer so shouldn't be judged until he's done so. Vorm of course was only bought as back up and was never expected to become a regular. Anyone can pick holes if you look hard enough.

9.) 12 May 2015
12 May 2015 16:46:22
So the manager knows he is running the younger players into the ground, but does nothing to prevent it and keep the team competitive through the end of the season?

Do you really agree with that 1985?

10.) 12 May 2015
12 May 2015 17:57:56
spurs 1985 I think you are taking the same stuff as the raver. yes I do moan a lot about spurs that's because the club is not going forward. how on earth can you be happy the way the club is heading its a shambles from levy then baldini down to mopo and the team. I have seen some poor spurs teams over the years and this one is right up there with them. if you take kane , erikksen , lloris and maybe chadli away this team would be right down the bottom half of the league. you seem the sort of guy who is on a promise with kelly brook then end up with katie hopkins and you would be still happy lol

1985 , you ask what is seen as progress! To me that means bettering the previous season , beating previous results! Yes , we are going through changes , and yes , I don't WANT TO CHANGE THE MANAGER , but , he picks the team! There are thousands of supporters sitting watching each week , now I am not saying they are all super knowledgeable about football and tactics , but they do have some knowledge . They do know that Fazio is a slightly better Dawson , that Verts isn't the best left back , that Chiriches is total crap , that Paulinho is the new Ray Wilkins ( slows the game right down and passes sideways all the time ) . They also know that Eriksen plays much better as a number 10! Also Dier isn't much good at RB , but will make a very good centre half . Then they think , we signed a new right back to cover for Walker , why don't we play him? None of these things are rocket science or need anyone to think about them , the proof is there on the pitch , in full vision of anyone who cares to look . Too many things don't add up at our club!! In the first team on Saturday , there was no leader , no defence , players playing in the wrong positions , all down to Mopo . No plan B , Mopo! Young players starting to flag , wether it is through tiredness or fed up with so called stars not pulling their weight , need a break .
I am hoping that tight arse does at least three things this transfer window ;
1 - loosen the purse strings
2 - sell the crap at whatever we can get for it
3 - let Mopo choose who he wants . Then he has to work with who he has .

well said davo, you always give good replys about spurs. spurs85 this is a fans site we all have diffrent views on spurs. I respect all the boys judgement on the games, players etc . iknow you don't like my views on spurs but that's me. when I've been out on a friday night I see the game a lot diffrent to you on a saturday believe me

Its deja vu of last summer, the problem is Levy Levy Levy. When will people realise this, its not difficult, the evidence is there for all to see. He turned down 12mil for Andros Townsend because Southampton wouldn't sell him Schneiderlin for 10mil, it says everything about him. Last summer it was "Mopo can work with this load of rubbish and get them playing, we don't need wholesale changes". Anyone with an unbiased opinion knew we had to sell a lot of players because they are so average. Well here we are a year later and guess what its the same f ing problem, with the same f ing plop players. Until that core of 810 awful players are sold for whatever price you can get, then forget it. Plop players equals a plop team. Another season wasted under Levy because last summers mantra was the same as every summer, let's do this as cheap as possible. The proof is Stambouli instead of Schneiderlin and Fazio instead of Mussachio.

Yellowcard - I agree it's not ideal but what choice does he have? He plays pauliniho for example then gets criticised for his team selection. We lose and everyone points the finger at him for not playing Mason. I know going by previous conversations with you that you can atleast understand such a simple point. He's constantly between a rock and a hard place whatever he does and I cannot belive I'm the only one who see's there is no pleasing our fans. Maybe it's because I'm a football fan not just a spurs fan and see our team as a neutral does, I'm not sure. Raver, glorifying drugs does not make you a big man and clearly is messing up your perception of reality. Grow up mate we've all dabbled but there comes a time you realise there's more to life. Davo, your opinion is, everyone is useless, I know who should play and how they should play and if that doesn't happen then the world is going to end. You've been wrong on so many occasions I'm starting to think you and Oracle should get your own Web page. All I say is support the team that is our role as supporters and you all try telling me I'm wrong, well how can I be? I don't try acting like for some reason I know more than the guy payed millions to manage the team (Davo) because I don't and neither do the rest of you. So ffs support the team you claim you love and take the good with the bad, ride the roller-coaster as one and no matter what happens in 1, 2 or 10 years time THFC will still exist and we can enjoy winning for once, bring you all back to my point about the good result we got against Southampton where not a single one of you commente. Why? Because there was nothing to moan about!
Lucas - some valid points made mate a much better argument than any previous. Still, Levy wants us to be successful of course he doe. Be it for the good of the club or business reasons get want success all the same.

spurs 85 you need to chill out mate, like I said its a fans site we all have diffrent views. just listen to 5live phone in on the radio you will always hear fans from the same club arguing. also I don't glorify drugs and I don't think i'm the big man at all. i'm in the bill nicholson most games you are welcome to a pint off me or you can tell i'm a muppet to my face.

16.) 13 May 2015
13 May 2015 20:21:55
Lol Raver, I'm the most chilled guy there is believe me. Hence my positive look on things. Yeah I hear those people on 5live and they are just frustrated. Should never make a call like that after a game. All the emotions are still there. I'd happily have a pint with you mate, would love to chat football face to face with most on here, think we'd all get a better understanding of each others argument's and have a better debate. But hey unlikely to happen so let it continue. Tbh, I say a lot to stir things up on here just to keep it interesting. A couple years back this page was a little more lively, missing the Oracle maybe. Of course that last part was a joke!

14 May 2015 13:58:21
fair play for you reply 85, I like the point when you said I like to stir things up. it does make the site more lively you have me biting all the time lol
