Any news on Konoplyanka as we seem to be linked with him again. Surely if he is a free transfer there will be rivals for his signature a very good player at a good age would have thought that a few clubs are looking at him. Are we likely to get him?

Also have you heard anything about us looking at Alderweireld and if we were to sign him would it convince Vertonghen to stay.

Realistically what are the chances of us signing Schneiderlin.

{Ed002's Note - Wolfsburg, Napoli, Roma, Sevilla, West Ham, Spurs, Shakhtar and Bayer Leverkusen have shown recent interest in Konoplyanka who is able to sign a pre-contract with any non Ukrainian side. Sevilla, Spurs, Napoli and Roma have put the most effort in to trying to put a deal in place for the summer and his representatives have rejected an offer from West Ham, telling them his preferred destination is Arsenal. If Liverpool are going to look to the player again (and I don't know that they are), then it would be perhaps to replace Sterling. Dnipro have additionally offered him a new contract.

Southampton have an option to buy Toby Alderweireld and will do if the player agrees - however he will no doubt talk to Atletico Madrid to understand his options. He won't be moving to Liverpool but Spurs do remain interested in Alderweireld and with it being out of their hands and Kevin Wimmer arriving, not one to hold your breath over.

Arsenal will look to Southampton's Schneiderlin this summer and I suspect a deal can be done "at the right price". It has been suggested that Spurs may also look to him but interest from Napoli has gone. Again, I would not hold your breath.}

I think Daniel Levy would sign Konoplyanka, Alderweireld, Schnerderlin and Benteke if he could offload the mess Baldini left us with. Wimmer will be relatively cheap, and as such is probably happy to fight for a place.

I wonder if we can somehow lose Kaboul, Davies, Chiriches, Fazio, Stambouli, Capoue, Paulinho, Townsend, Lennon, Soldado and Adebayor. Personally I think we have enough talent in Veljkovic, Carroll, Pritchard, McEvoy and others to pad squad.

What we need are top players to take us forward, not players similar to Caulker, Huddlestone, Livermore and Sigurdsson who we sold.

I hope the summer can be an Exodus and perhaps we can start realistically believing we can compete in the Champions League.

I agree but Davies and Stambouli haven't too badly and can still improve, and Townsend can still be great for us if we play him more. In my opinion Carroll is too weak to play for us, unless we bulk him out quickly we'll sell him to Swansea or QPR. Pritchard and Veljkovic are good enough by the looks of how they've been playing either on loan or for the reserves but McEvoy needs another season out on loan before he can break into the first team especially because on both wings he's got two or three players ahead of him.
