Ed, cos that's the way harry likes it, with a big targetman. Suarez would of been fine and suited our style. What we need is a clinical finisher, suarez but tbh i reckon rossi would of been perfect. Hulk is a mixture of pace n power and would fit nicely as would forlan. Harry is starting to get on a lot of spursfans t@rts now, he speaks too much sh@ep.

I've been told by a friend in the legal department that Spurs have reps in Spain with a view to completing deals for two players - both said to be based in Madrid. I would presume a forward is top of the agenda but Real currently only have Benzema(who I'd welcome) fit in that position which makes me think the only realisitic option would be Diego Forlan. As for the other, it would be a midfielder with the smart money on Lassana Diarra, i'm not buying into the Kaka loan deal rumour at all!

Any thoughts on what this visit may be for Ed? {ed's note - what about the other Diarra? Out of contract in the summer and was an excellent player before his injury problems.}

Liverpool wanted Suarez and Pavlyuchenko, Spurs - much like Chelsea were encouraged to bid for Torres by the players advisors, deal for Torres to Spurs for Pav + £megabucks has been talked about, that's why Chelsea have bid £35m+ for Torres in the last 48 hours. Spurs are still confident they can get him and only have one back up option but time is running out to get deals done and they to get rid of at least one striker this window if they are to bring in the players they want.

sandro reminds me of a young Lass, still only 21 and plays very simular to him. give him a season or 2 to develop and i recon he will be a defffinate starter. sandro in my opinion would offer us more with his physical presence.
we need a deffinate striker, i heard someone mentioned podolski which would be a good signing as VDV and him could swap roles thoughout the game with either one on the left wing.

Tottenham planning an assault on Hulk

Tottenham are pondering a bid for Porto striker Hulk as Harry Redknapp hopes to bring a new striker to White Hart Lane.

Spurs have been following the Brazilian hitman for quite a while, having watched him five times this season and more than thirty times since they first laid eyes on him.

With Porto increasing the player’s release clause from €40 million to €100 million, it is more than clear the Dragons will not sell him cheap, especially since they see him as a key member of the squad.

One of the reasons why Porto are holding out for a big transfer fee is because they only own half of the player’s contract, so Tottenham will have to break the bank in order to sign the Brazilian.

The agent of in-demand Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano has quashed reports that Tottenham have bid for the player.

Spurs were said to have offered £12.5 million for the Brazil international, but the representative of the 30-year-old has said no such bid has been made.

i do not think we need Taiwo, bale is the cover for left back. if anything we should sign Sime Vrsaljko, top quality young player can play left back.
we have been linked Sime Vrsaljko and conner wickham since the start of the season. modric and corluka could be good role modals for Sime Vrsaljko.
its about time we spice our squad up with some quality youth and these 2 players could do that.
kyle walker has a hot prospect ahead of him you can tell he can have the baility to shine in the future.

Some of the rumours ive been reading and suggested squads that Spurs will end up with are laughable! Guys, its getting beyond a joke!
Look, any true Yid will tell you that Ledley is coming ever closer to the end of his career, he simply cannot be relied upon to get through a season without major problems anymore. So why the hell have you suggested that he would be first choice when Dawson would only be a "squad" player? Why have a midfield of Van der vart AND Sneijder when they are both the same type of player and its exactly why Sneijder is keeping Van der Vart out of the Dutch side?
Maicon? Pleeeesssseeeee! Do you REALLY think we will spend that kind of money on a left back?!? Suarez AND Carrol upfront?!?! Yes, it may be what you heard, if you pick up the papers we are being linked to everybody and Wee Jimie Krankie. That is bang on the money ed! My assumption is that we want to be playing with one out and out striker, primarily, because we have so many attack minded players in the squad already. I know that some seem to think that Redknapp wants to be the "little and large" combo upfront but I don't see it, unless he can stick a straightjacket on van der vart to stop him playing wherevever he wants on the pitch. Doing that, which would be impossible, would totally negate what he has brought to the team, let alone goals.
I think the one all rounder target man is what we are searching for. Carrol? I suppose, if you were a bit cynical, you would be asking "who the h* k is Carrol?" if you were from outside of the North East at the start of the season.
I think we would be wasting our money.
Unfortunately, the Football World only made one Torres, the type of player who would bang in 30 a season with our players around him. Im a realist, we aint gonna get him!
As for Pienaar, we don't need him, we need better left and right backs but not another effing midfield player, no matter how good the deal is. . .

Kind of agree Ed, buts it's well known Ashley is motivated by money so i don't think carrols feelings would come into consideration!

also i disagree with the comment about him not bringing anything to the team as he would fit into the big man little man role perfectly lets be honest in saying that pace is not really an issue in the spurs camp with the likes of Lennon, Defoe, Bale, and Modric i think the main issue would be keeping his head down outside of football what with the london night life and all. . .

Alright lads this is the latest news ive got.
harry is looking to strengthen his fowards! lately we have been linked with hulk and carroll behind closed doors wereas suarez and benzema are deals more out in the open which the media and others know about! although recently carroll rejected links with us, he is still on the radar along with Hulk! personally ide love to see hulk come to white hart lane as he is young, incredible ability and is quick not to mention extremely strong! although carroll has shown good ability on the pitch, he is more known as a party lad which could only jeopardise the team!
we have also put in a bid for pienaar which has not been accepted yet, i believe it is us and inter who have put the bids in! chelsea have been rejected!
richards has always been on harrys list, loves this player and his ability. has not shined for a long time, has all the attributes to become a top top player, harry could bring the confidence out of him!

Ed, well your mate only just got the vdv deal in, another minute and he would of had to grovel to you! My mate is reliable although, thankfully, he got the j.cole deal wrong but so did most! He reckons this deal will break our transfer record.
To hulk poster, i think he would be a great signing mate but dnt think its him tbh. My money is on suarez. I got another mate who is adamant that we are going to get lukaku but i reckon he will go to chelski in the summer. Hopefully someone can let us know soon as. Spurs guvnor {ed's note - like I said, he only knew that money was set aside in readiness for a big move, it could easily have fallen through. He says the same has been done again this window.}

King, Dawson, Woodgate, Gallas, Khumalo, Kaboul, C'orluka, Bassong, Huddlestone, Naughton, Caulker etc.

2 things first u missed abracket and second the defence is bad cos of our full backs and the loss of daws now we have daws and khumalo in too so we yet have 5-6 good central defenders Daws gallas bassong khumalo kaboul c'orluka. Were conceding cos of hutton and assous bad defending corluka should play for one of them. We need only a left back in defence either to start or for cover for Assou we also need a striker and defensive mid maybe however left back should be first priority as if Assou is injured Bale will play left back where all that gloss is lost of him and there will be more defensive woes as Bale doesn't defend well

Spurs have a top target in Suarez and there is a deal there to be done. The main issue is his Champions League eligibility, as the decision makers at the club were aiming to qualify from their Champions League group and have now had to revise their targets due to their form in the first half of the season. The conundrum is this, buy Suarez now and use him only in the Premier League or go for an alternative option that can play in all competitions. The name Cavani of Napoli has been linked and there is some truth in this as the thought of pairing him with international team mate Suarez appeals to Redknapp, as both players can play across the front (very much like the interchangable frontlines of Barcelona and Inter in recent seasons). Liverpool are also interested in Suarez but isn't a move favoured by Suarez himself.

Heard that Spurs weren't making too much over a Carrol bid following the game against Newcastle at WHL. Anybody there that day would've seen Michael Dawson absolutely murder him in the air and never let him get a kick - by half way through the second half Carrol had resorted to going down and moaning to the ref about any contact because he couldn't win one ball against Daws. Two players a bit more in the old fashioned mould and Daws was head and shoulders better.

I think we should try and sign Rooney. We have a good chance because we are as big a club as Man U and he'd jump at the chance to join us. We'll be the best team in the world soon with Rafa Modric Hud and co playin 4 us. Rooney wud be the final piece of the jigsaw and after him maybe one or two more players like Di Maria and Essien. WHY would he sell corluka. young, reads the game well. cover for hutton if not cover deffinate starter. in actual fact hes a much better defender then hutton just lacks pace. . taking all that into account he is also luka modrics bets friend. Yeh your right crouch can sometimes be very usefull but the majority of times he is useless. he would be a decent sub when were 1-0 down and need to put the ball on someones head.
to be honest carrolls good but there are better players out there. for example hulk, dzeko. . . if we don't get a 6 footer ide love to see someone like aguero at the lane to partner jermain defoe upfronts. jermain defoe always sits on the last line, and aguerro drifts everywhere.

Ed Have you heard any transfer rumours for spurs, all i know is that becks is a certainty because of his grandad situation and ive known that spurs have been monitering richards for months now! carrolls been strongly linked with us! i think that deal has 80% chance of happening! have you got any updates of other players being linked?
