Hi EDs just wondering if there is any truth in the rumours saying we have agreed a fee with Toulouse for Etienne Capoue {Ed008's Note - I'm not sure myself i know of interest from Arsenal and Cardiff it's a bit of a strange deal considering theirs too many midfielders at the club already..

Capoue's club president has confirmed that he will be joining Tottenham. Obviously Parker, Hudd and Livermore will be going if decent offers come in.

Livermore is the new Jenas, he's never going to leave! Lol

He can also play in defence so offers us cover there! AVB likes to have players who can play in various e positions! COYS.

Capoue can play as DM CM CB he is very good in all positions would see this deal as a player who would be good cover for us what with are defensive injuries

Ya I reckon parker be gone to qpr and hudds prob go capoue is sort of a really good livermore type of player but with a lot more defensive qualitys, if this is true and he does sign I reckon hudds and parker be gone maybe even livermore

Sandro has not fully recovered from his cruciate ligament damage, and there is always a chance that a player will never return to his previous level after such an injury.
Toulouse are a mid table Fulham type club in the French league, and Capoue is without doubt their star player. One assumes that Parker, Livermore and perhaps Huddlestone might be sold, and Capoue would certainly prefer Spurs to a club that is going nowhere.
In an ideal environment he would provide cover for a full fit Sandro, helping share the load of cup and European midweek games. He is a guaranteed a place on every bench, and will certainly get his chance to sure things up if we need to see out a victory.
In summary a brilliant signing with little risk, fantastic news and just hope that Sandro can return soon.

If we were to keep Bale we would be in with a good chance to win the league I must agree, just need to get a left back and another centre back keep Defoe and Adebeyor with Saldado plenty of goals in them. If Ade can play the way he did last away chelsea game he just needs a kick in the backside COYS

Jake livermore is just robbing a living, hw an earth he's pro I don't no. That game against monoco jus said it all. Fair enuff he ain't a cb tbh he ain't any postion. But cb is not where he normally plays. But does this change in postion mean you can't pass anymore. I watched him try three cross field passes that game and kicked it off the pitch everytime. Honestly this lad does my head in. Pisses me off that I have to go 2 wrk and wrk my arse off. While he just robs spurs. I've never even seen a glimpse that he has anything toral waste of money. And when or if spurs can get rid off him there's no chance he would even b a regular in any prem team. I watch a lot of ryman leauge football as a local team is close to me. There is 100 percent brighter prospects in that leauge than jake livermore. I honestly can't slate him enough. I wish he would get signed for another prem team that doesn't play anywhere near are level after one season everyone would realise this bloke needs a new career. #waster

Reports in France say we have signed Etienne Capoue for 10 mil euros and he will arrive thursday or friday for medical, don't know if true but will spell the end of huddlestone parker and livermore.

I T V are now also saying this. Strange one. Good player but we are overloaded in that department. Guess that means finally getting rid of Livermore and possibly scotty and hudd.
Capoue has been used as a cb in the past so could also act as cover for both midfield and defence.
If this goes through, it takes our spending to near £60m

I'd take this as a pinch of salt Marc, last week I thought Vlad Chiriches was a done deal, only for him now to be saying "he'd like to go to Serie A".
Personally I think we should have offered £10m for him & closed the deal sharpish. He looks a class player.
Eds, on that front, are we out the running with Chiriches now. ? {Ed008's Note - I would think so but just have to wait and see.

Hey Dr-THFC,
That i'd agree as twice we have had the same news with the croatian kids deal as well before.
But he would be a good signing if bought with the money from the three parker hudd and liver.
He is a good defensive midfielder and sandro rarely makes a whole season, so we do need a good squad. Last season we played some lovely football till some injuries and then the class went down. I actually haven't seen this guy play but have heard good things so would be a good look, and as stated can cover cb.
But we will see.

According to french media we have agreed a fee with Toulouse for the transfer of Etienne Capoue for 10 mil ?. Subject to medical thursday or friday. But why on Earth would we Want to sign him with Parker, Huddlestone and livermore still here? Anybody know something about this? Cheers

He can also play CB. That may have something to do with it. Apparently he is quite good.

Parker, Huddlestone and Livermore are no in the class of Capoue. We still have Holtby and even Dembele that can cover this position.

I'd say as a club we've learnt a lesson by buying our players before shipping out others. We failed to replace many players in the past as we've left ourself thin. Also proberbly find when we are desperate teams ask for more money and we all know how much Levy loves saving a £ or 2

Eds:
If Bale is sold, is our #1 target Morata? Meaning, if we sell him, is it completely contingent on the young Spaniard coming this way? And if we do sell Bale and get nothing in return (in the way of attacking options), then who are our primary targets? I've heard Eriksen, Lamela, Pjanic, and Willian mentioned the most, but I can't reasonably see any of them coming for one reason or another.
Basically, what I'm asking is if our best player is sold, what is our most coherent, realistic contingency plan? I'd expect at least two high quality signings if Bale is sold, but with Levy, one never knows. {Ed001's Note - the issue is not so much who comes in return, more about how much and when the cash is paid. Madrid are trying to pay it off in instalments, which is how they always do business, Levy wants to be able to use the cash to buy players immediately. Also, paying money Madrid already owe on a previous transfer is not seen as an inducement, when they have to pay it at some point anyway. Morata is a possibility, but only that, as he is not so keen on a move to England.}
