rumours in north east is that sunderland have put in a bid for lennon which spurs are thinking over

Why would it be considered. He's an important player

Spurs are not thinking it over at all, Lennon is not a player they want to sell and Sunderland is not a club he's want to move to

Thats a load of rubbish theres no way that he will leave hes a key player

Lennon not going but we need someone to push him for his starting place to get the best out of him

Looks like Real are gonna pull out of the modders deal! Good work Levy! Really well done, now we are gonna be stuck with sulky bollox for another season and no cash for the striker we so have needed for the last bloody 3 seasons!

If we keep Modric Levy will have done a fantastic job. The guy is world class

Its not hard to do what Levy does, just reject all offers for a player and dont bother about any players thoughts. Its a fact Modders wants to leave and Madrid have probably bid anout 22-30 million, this is enough for replacements but Levy is to stupid and thinks he is doing Spurs a favour by keephing his best player. Hate having players at a club when clearly they dont want to be there.

Why should he sell he's contracted and on of our best players his price is what we want some people need to get that. You don't buy a kit kat and haggle for it

Everybody is too keen to say what Modric isn't worth but let's see what they'd want to let their own best players go for mid-contract. The fact is Modric is worth what we want for him as he has 4 more years left on a contract so if nobody will pay it then he can stay until they do whether he likes it or not. The players are getting more and more power and this is only going to be an advantage to a select few clubs who already have more money and draw than the rest. It's not right that he can sulk until Spurs are forced to let him go for £millions less. As an example, if Moutinho is going to be £30million ish as an un-proven replacement then Spurs need £35mill for Modric, simple as that. As it is we need two strikers as well which won't be cheap on wages and/or fees and by weakening the squad by losing Modric it all becomes more critical to get good replacements. We have to pay a premium for not being in CL and being Spurs and not Money-bags FC so need to sell at the highest rate possible.

Modric is easily worth £10m per year of his contract left. The whole world knows the asking price and Real Madrid are just trying to lowball us thinking that player pressure will save them 5 or 10 mil.

Considering how widely desired he is and how highly rated he is by the top managers in the game I'd say £40m was entirely realistic. The price has been set, if they want him enough they can get him.
