Strong rumours coming out for jr and sniderin from saints for 30 mil

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Very happy if we do get these two. Another cb and I will be very happy. Get our money back on Paulinho and I'll be ecstatic!

Agree5 Disagree3

I'm actual starting to feel sorry for Southampton fans watching their team being dismantled so savagely in a single transfer window.

Agree8 Disagree5

It was enjoyable while it lasted. I think it's a Shame though for any England fan to see saints torn apart. English players playing attractive football pretty rare now days. Let's just hope they all get some game time to further their development. Especially chambers as I feel he has huge potential but he needs to be playing games

Agree4 Disagree2

Can you confirm the 'strong rumours' are true eds?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - Spurs have been speaking to Southampton about both. Most of the bets are because people are assuming Southampton are willing to sell. To be honest I can't see any reason to disagree with that, but there seems to be a problem with the club's willingness to release funds this summer. They have already rejected the chance to increase their offer for Griezmann, who they knew was Poch's number one choice and was keen on the move to Spurs. I don't believe this to be a case of Levy penny-pinching either, I think we may well see some changes in the club after the window. A certain Italian Technical Director is very much on the verge of removal right now, I am told. Seems odd to back Baldini over AVB and now turn on him, but it seems he is wearing out his welcome with his unwillingness to allow someone else to pick the players to buy.}

Hey Ed 001, Spurs are said to be close to signing Jay Rodriguez . Does that spell te end of spurs wide forward chase? Was he the most wanted target or did poch have to make do?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - he wanted Griezmann, but the club wouldn't pay the money, so it is second choice time now.}

Thanks ed . I hope levy sorts out the mess soon and signs someone better than Rodriguez . I know he is home grown but I was gutted that we didn't sign Griezman . Makes me wonder which of our signings are the managers choice . COYS

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - well we know for sure that Lamela was 100% signed against AVB's wishes. If Baldini is not removed, then he will just continue to do what he thinks is right and that is not going to be always the same as the head coach.}

Fecking typical.
A manager of out club wants a player and we put in a lame attempt to sign him to say we tried

Could we still get Griezman . Sudden change of heart and a bit of drama? He hasn't put pento paper as yet right?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Spurs turned down the chance to match the offer. They walked away. I am shocked to be honest as I was told that the club had made promises to Poch on hiring him, that he would be picking the signings. I thought Levy himself would ensure that they were followed through, as he is not 100% secure in his job either.}

The Griezmann farce is classic Levy. Ask the manager who he wants and then fail to cough up the money for him. What's the point in not paying a little extra to get your man - we all know we'll only end up paying a lot more for the wrong players in a panic buying session at the end of the window. The blokes a muppet. Looks like he's resorted to Blaming Baldini - got to keep the fans onside after all.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I would not have expected him to leave Spain if there was an acceptable offer from there.}

Well that's sadistic and disappointing! But thanks a lot Ed 001 for clarifying!

Agree1 Disagree0

This is typical levy. Is it possible we appoint a new chairman (hurrah) if so when ed 001. We are not like Everton, we have money. Plus there's deadwood to ship out. I mean Swansea interested in naughton?! What are we waiting for. #levyout

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - actually Ed002 is telling me that Griezmann might have changed his mind after being initially keen on a move to Spurs. Apparently he preferred to stay in Spain, and he had no offers from there when he said he was keen on Spurs. So it could have been Spurs dropped out after finding out he would rather go to Atletico, to be fair to Levy. So I would suggest he deserves the benefit of the doubt now knowing that. It would certainly make sense, as up until Griezmann indicated he would move to Spurs, he had said he wanted to stay in Spain.

As for Levy, he has been told to get it right before the new stadium, as they want Champions League football with it. From what I am being told, Poch could be his last chance, if it all goes wrong, then he will be in trouble. That is why Poch is getting more say in transfers etc than previous managers, Levy wants the short term success to ensure his future.}

Griezmann or Rodriguez? One will be world class one is average. Soneone please tell me what the fuss over Rodriguez is because when I've seen him he looks ordinary. Why not Konoplayanka either?

Agree2 Disagree1

Thanks ed, your detailed answers combined with ed 002's deep inside knowledge is a winning stroke so I appreciate that. I suppose after shneiderlin and j-rod you can't see us getting more players can you?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - yes, Poch wants more defenders, Dawson has not impressed him at all. I expect a centre back to arrive, or maybe two. He did earmark Lovren, but Lovren was clear from the start that he wanted to go to Liverpool and wasn't interested in hearing any other offer even. I am sure I listed a couple that I know of the other day, as I can't remember any names right now. I don't tend to keep info I receive by text or emails any more, just in case! I really need to set up some kind of database to use, so I can keep the info to hand, as my memory sucks. Though I do make sure to post it on the relevant site before deleting anything, so there is at least some kind of public record for people to see.}

Wow, there's a lot of good info in this thread EDs thank you . Makes a few things a little more understandable.

Agree2 Disagree0

So Levy's heads on the block? How many chances has this disaster zone had. I wonder if he really is under any pressure - it's not like Lewis has invested any meaningful money into the team. I'd say under Levy's tenure it's a case of 'job done'.

Agree2 Disagree0

I must thanks both the eds for their help and for clarifying that levy can also get sacked! No strikers in the plan though eds?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Rodriguez can cover as a striker.}

Shneiderlin and J-rod are virtually done deals. Well done poch. Some of his former players should gel the team together!

Seen a report in Portuguese media saying that Spurs are signing Miguel Lopes (very average Right-Back) on loan from Sporting Lisbon as cover for Kyle Walker. Not very exciting or inspiring, but there you go.!
