Levy has a deal lined up for Iraq teenager Abbas Hattab at just under a million pounds rising to treble that, but there is another factor in the players decision regarding confidence of breaking through quick enough. This if from a commercial partner of his club.

Interest also in Fellaini, Hernandez and Evans after United expressed interest in two Tottenham players, one believed to be Lennon.

Sherwood has impressed Levy, but Levy wants him to step down to a number two position with a more experienced manager coming in. Klinsmann and McClaren are in consideration, depending on where Tottenham finish.

Adebayor set to be offered improved deal.

Sorry but what interest would we have in Evans or Fellanni? Oh, we have failed at Man U, let's go to Spurs! And McClaren, that's got to be the laugh of the year!

McClaren probably would not come anyway. I think he has had his fingers burnt with the Wolfsburg thing and would prefer to spend time building Derby and his own reputation with low expectations. On top of that Derby have money, but it won't be spent in the Championship.

We would not need Evans, but Fellaini maybe, in fact yes. I would take Fellanni for Lennon and maybe £5 million. We need to stay in the top six first of all that gives us Euro football again.

And how would getting rid of a winger and adding yet another midfielder ( not very good either ) help us achieve a top six?

The club needs a new strategy, imo, it has been the same approach on the field for years and it has got us nowhere. Lennon is a good player but swapping a few good players for a few good players would allow a new style.

Since Arry threw that game against United back in 2012 when United and City were going for the title and Fergie needed the points, we have gone backwards. We were in third place, about ten points clear of Arsenal and Arry rested Bale and Van Der Vaart and United beat us. He brought them back three days later. suddenly fit again, for the F.A Cup game against Stevanage.

I know City and United were neck and neck and Arry is Fergies mate and I can see why he thought he could drop three points and still finish third, but it is as if the football gods cursed us. We hardly won another game that season from that point on, we never made the CL, Arry never got the England job, he was then sacked by Levy, ended up relegated with Q.P.R, we got AVB and have gone backwards. We were on a good run before the United game, but Fergie probably done to Arry what he done to Bruce, Fat Sam, Moyes and a few referees and demanded a favour, when necessary. It was not always obvious, it is not right and the club have suffered. United never even managed to win the title in 2012 anyway.

Thats why I think a whole new approach and style is necessary and Sherwood could be the man. If not Sherwood, what about Simeone? Offer him a shed load of money and a budget like AVB got last year.

Redknapp may have rested players on purpose to give Ferguson a better chance, but there was still eleven players out there fighting for the shirt and we were at home. Maybe the board realised what Redknapp did for Ferguson and because it proved costly and we ended up missing out on the Champions League, they ejected him. There were raised eyebrows at the time but nothing will ever be proved.

But I would take Harry back now until the end of the season, it would give us the boost to catch either Liverpool or Arsenal. The Tim Sherwood factor is starting to wear off and the usual boost Harry would give us, just for ten games could be a masterstroke before we get a new manager in the Summer. I like Simeone too, but would also settle for Hiddink, Jurgen or maybe giving Terry Venners another shot.

Nah, it has to be Simeone over your other contenders. He'd probably bring Costa with him too managers always bring a couple of their favs. Could take a chunk of money but with the dross on are books now we need to gamble right this summer.

Fellanni is in that group of players who need a spark to get back to where they recently where. Moses is another, what about Joe allen, Lescott and Wickham? 5 players for maybe under 50 million that with ten good games each would be worth double that. its been a bad season for all of them, snap them up now and work on them with the business done before Brazil.

If Lennon did go for maybe 20 million and we got are money back on Soldado, we could get all of them without spending a penny. 5 for 2, squad quality boosted and a world cup marquee to come before next season, maybe Costa.

I think it is a new style (AVB's) that has taken us backwards. It was working well when he first started - the players full of the sweeping attacks of 'Arry mixed together with some solidity. Then we get too solid and static and slow and things drop off. The blend was quite good initially but we went too far. Now we just look clueless.

I don't think it is the players fault to need a new direction. They look as confused as the fans at times. They are clearly a talented bunch overall as despite the feeling we are having a grim season we're still in with a chance of CL.

We don't need to sell players so I would only sell the ones that are proven as not being good enough. There are a few key positions (please ffs buy a left back!) still needed, but generally I'd avoid trying to overhaul the squad.
