Brad Friedel will become a player/coach.
Emmanuel Adebayor and Tom Huddlestone will be leaving.
Christian Erikson, Andi Weimann and Gonzalo Higuain will be signed.

Latest on Higuain is that he is looking to agree a new contract at Real, Eriksen could happen but Liverpool are also trying to get him

Higuain would only be available to us as part of any swap deal for Bale, even then I don't think he'd come to us. Weimann is a free agent at the end of the season I believe and would be a decent signing only 21 and has scored a few goals for a poor Villa side whilst playing second fiddle to Benteke. Eriksen would be a fantastic signing for us, and with him, Dembele, Sandro, Bale and Lennon we would have a phenomenal middle 5 just need a world class striker to put the chances away that we would create, someone like alexis sanchez from Barca who I think would be available for the right price and if we are in the CL I think would welcome a move or possibly a move for Dzeko or Hernandez from either Manchester club. {Ed002's Note - Weimann will not be a free agent at the end of the season and Real Madrid are certainly open to a cash offer for Higuain.}

Ed002, I wasn't sure if Weimann was or was not a free agent, I know villa are trying to tie him to a new contract, as for Higuain, I knew real wanted rid of him, I just thought they would try and get bale into any deal, but if Real would accept a cash deal for him, do you think he would join us and what sort of price would Real want for him? {Ed002's Note - Real Madrid would be happy to exchange Higuain and Modric for Bale as I explained. However, cash deals are far more attractive to them as they look to raise money for some rebuilding work in the summer. There is interest in Higuain from elsewhere.}

so if we can retain CL spot who thinks that bringing in erikson from ajax suarez from the scousers and maybe moutinho too would see us moving up to the next level where Bale would then be happy to stay long term.

Sorry but Suarez would never happen, even if he wanted to come we couldn't afford him, and moutinho will be joining PSG in the summer. Would love to see Eriksen at the lane though.

Suarez! I don't think we can afford 55-60m on one player. Keep bale instead and add a really top striker.

Suarez ain't worth that amount! Try 35 at tops

How is Suarez worth 35m at tops? come on mate even as a spurs fan I can see he is worth 50m, if people are talking 55-60m for bale, Suarez has got to be worth in that region.

35m tops for Suarez! Bale and Suarez are both worth around 60m in my opinion.

Suarez could go anywhere same as Bale, he would never come to us. Top four we could get a top player but not world class, sorry all but its true. Richard

Suarez is an extremely temperamental player and would not fit into the spurs 'family. '

We should go for Suarez, don't really like the bloke but he's top quality and is consistent in front of goal! Forget about dalmaio and use the modric, rafa and the 20 million saved on dalmaio and sign Suarez! Or not

liverpool fan here. don't waste time talking about suarez he would never join a team with no passion, he is made for liverpool and won't be going anywhere. you may be higher in the table but you are nowhere near near liverpool in terms of passion, support, and ability to always have great players, you will never be able to attract players liverpool have.
sorry spurs but your a club I can't stand and don't wish you all the best lol.

Normal arrogant, blind response from liverpool supporters. that's why people laugh at their feeble attempts to defend their own inability to win anything, even with a world class striker.

Dear Scouser
I think your grandad has been indoctrinating you with fairy takes of yesteryear. You are not able to attract big names, simply players who were of no interest to the bigger clubs. Suarez was a risk and it proved to be a good one, and perhaps Coutinho will follow his example. Outside of that you have a squad full of ageing men of yesteryear like Gerrard & Carragher, and a few average young prospect like Sterling, Allen, Coates, Kelly, Henderson, Shelvey and Sturridge. Your league position perfectly exemplifies the ability of the wider squad.
Recent history also confirms that you will sell your stars, and Suarez will soon exit for £35m, and you will invest the lot on the next Andy Carroll.
Terribly run club, living on yesteryear and with little sign of greater things to come. Wasted over £100m on very mediocre players, and certain to be mid table again for the foreseeable future.
