French media are reporting that Capoue has NOT fractured his left fibula. Let's just hope this turns out to be true, but he looked in serious pain, so it may even be ligaments which would be just as bad.

As for last day of the transfer window, the latest news I've come across is that United are, like ourselves, allegedly sniffing around Coentrao, but that Ancelotti has said he's going nowhere.

Damiao's name has been rekindling some interest on this and the Liverpool website, but personally I just don't see it. Hernandez may still be the one upfront that we have the best chance of, although I've also seen us linked with that Joel Pohjanpalo, the Finnish starlet from Helsinki and the Troy Deeney option is intriguing. Juan Mata would be fantastic, but Eriksen will play that role for us, so that is no longer a need in my opinion.

Me? I'm just still reeling from what we've achieved this summer at a net cost of about £2m. Amazing turnaround, although I do have a few concerns about team chemistry and bonding, but we have some great raw talent to play with now. Lamela and Eriksen could be just the sparks we need to link up better with Soldado, who looked very isolated today, I'm sorry to say. (Have to say, I thought Dawson, Dembele and Chadli looked a bit ponderous at times - especially the moment when Daws floundered in the centre circle and got pickpocketed. The sooner Kaboom or Chiriches are up to speed, the better!)

We can't really expect much more of an outlay, and I reckon many of us were crossing our fingers that Coentrao might have been slipped in as a parting gift from Real, but it wasn't to be, meaning United are expressing some interest now. But in all honesty, I think we're done, apart from loan deals to get some of the younger players some playing time. Still can't believe Gomes is on the books. Really like the option of sending Carroll elswehere (Ajax was my preference as I suggested a few weeks ago; I don't think QPR is ideal for him.

Anyway, chins up Spurs fans. The enemy won the battle, not this year's war.

I've been unimpressed with Dembele since he arrived. Not sure what his contribution is over the course of a season . but I'd be surprised if he is till here next season unless he starts to produce

Agree4 Disagree11

I don't think it's necessary to play Dembele, Paulinho and Capoue in the same team unless we are protecting a lead. Against Norwich it would be interesting to see Paulinho & Dembele in the middle with the creative eriksen operating in the final 3rd, picking the passes that we certainly lacked yesterday. Lennon back on the right with Lamela on the left(rotating with Lennon) and Soldado up top.

Expect to see Eriksen replace Dembele and Sandro to slot in and replace the injured Capoue

I'd say there will be a signing tomorrow. Most probably will be a left back (not coentrao) or tom ince. I do not claim to be in the know but it is my gut feeling seeing that our net spend is probably 2million now.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

I should a right back would come in as well. I was a fan of Kyle Walker but he needs competition (more than Naughton) and possibly someone to learn from. He is starting to walk with a swagger like Lennon, and he is beginning to have the end product like him to. Sorry; NO end product.

Hi was wondering have any of use heard of holtby leaving or anyone else just he would be a perfect for for everton {Ed008's Note - Not heard anything about it not sure if Everton are interested.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

If Holtby was to leave then it would only be on loan as he will be one of our first team players in the future

Agree6 Disagree1

Holtby shouldn't go on loan Siggs fair enough but Holtby is constantly closing midfielders down and given them no time on the ball

Agree5 Disagree2

No chance now Capoue is injured

according to some reports we have an intrest in Joel Pohjanpalo this could be a sign that ade might be leaving, this kid looks prettty good any news ed {Ed008's Note - At first when you said his name I thought it was made up, done some research he's only 18 so I'm not sure he had trials with Liverpool and Monaco earlier in the year..

Hi ed do you think our transfer activity is over. I feel we are 2 players short of the best having the best squad in the league. A quality lb but I dnt think contreao is the answer. I wld love to see us go for jetro Williams of psv and also a good back up striker as I still think Defoe or ade will leave though think Harry Kane has potential. {Ed008's Note - Wouldn't rule out discussions with Coentrao couple of outgoing players like Adebayor,Ekotto and maybe some midfielders leaving. AVB was clear he wanted 2 players per position and 3 strikers. He's got that midfield is fine maybe 1-2 leaving from there. He's gonna rotate the squad consistently during the season.

best squad in the league ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha load of europey league players get real.

Agree13 Disagree8

Mr anonymous needs to get real I think.
Not brave enough to mention his own team I see.
These other teams fans stink of jealousy at the business we have done and the only thing they have is attempted anonymous ridicule.
Sad, very sad. {Ed008's Note - Arsenal?

Agree6 Disagree6

I'd say you are pretty spot on there ed.
