Modric to be sold on transfer deadline day, end of August I believe. Harry to try and get replacement in last few mins before deadline closes but fails.

OK - I'm not saying this won't happen, but there's no way that's actually the plan Is it really worth hanging on to get an extra £2-5million for all the disruption that would cause? Especially when you tag onto that the risk that you might not be able to get a replacement in quickly enough? This is the worst possible scenario that could happen - don't want a repeat of Berbatov

Personally I dont think it would be that big of a deal if we didnt get another midfielder in place of modric. Just move Van der Vaart into the CM role and it would give him the freedom he needs. We would see the best of him and we could deploy 2 strikers. Problem solved. Personally I would sell Modric and buy a top striker.

Ed - We arent stupid enough to hold out until the last minute to sell Modric, we did that with Berbatov and then struggled with relegation the next season...not to mention if we sell Modric, Levy would need to resign, and that wont happen...Modric WILL NOT BE SOLD

Imo, VDV can't be used in CM. firstly VDV hasn't shown much ability in CM anywhere he's played. secondly all freedom he has ever had (i.e. in the hole) would disappear in the CM role because he'd have far more responsibility and have to sit much deeper. he's not exactly a pacey box-to-box player. thirdly, if there is a player than can allow freedom for our midfielders, it is Modric - this is the main reason i wouldn't want to lose him even if he is a little s***

With the brazilian transfer windnow closing on wednesday there is talk of the damiao deal being done tomorrow.

I've heard spurs are looking to offer players to Blackburn for samba, maybe bentley + 6m or keane + bassong or keane + bentley... Getting a decent cb for a couple of fringe players makes good sense.

Seriously is this still on even after he has just signed a new deal. what's your source bud. would be great if its true but i have my doubts. {Ed008's Note - To be honest contracts are nothing in football these days as long as a fee can be agreed and a increase in wages it could happen. Maybe January or next summer but nothing new.

Has anybody else heard that we are in advanced talks with Blackburn regarding Samba? I heard that a deal is likely to be made in the next week for 8 million and with Bentley going the other way.

Would prefer onouha to be honest
