I think we should go for Viktor Wanyama of Celtic he could do a job in Mid field, he is a young player, if we don. t go for him then Man U, just might, just a thought, {Ed002's Note - A summer move to Arsenal failed to materialise and QPR had interest and had an offer rejected. Both Manchester United and Arsenal remain interested in Wanyama but were reluctant to pay the sort of figure Celtic were looking for in January. Given that Begiristain has hinted that Manchester City are considering making a bid for the player as well, one or both might look to try and tempt Celtic to sell in the summer and of the three clubs I would say that Manchjester United is the least likely destination as they are pushing elsewhere with their interest.}

ed. any chance of spurs going for jackson martinez. ? he's just what spurs need! {Ed008's Note - No Porto want stupid money for him and I don't think he's what Spurs need.

Ugh why can't you people look at our squad. We do not need midfielders. We have Parker, Sandro, Livermore, Holtby, Siggy, Dempsey, Dembele, Lennon, Bale.

What we need are strikers who can score goals.

Hopefully we will get rid of Parker, Siggy, Livermore and Dempsey and replace them with some decent players

Davo, just been reading through some of your posts.
Your attitude really stinks. You are on a downer with every post your submit.
Look, we have the players we have. Just get behind them and stop slagging them off every post.
We are not Real Madrid, we are spurs. We can't have a superstar in every position.
We need to all get behind the club in our push for top4. We could potentially go 3rd on Monday and we have inter in the last16 in Europe. Is that not good enough for you?
Your negative tripe is not what spurs fans do. Just get behind the team, the whole team ffs. Not that hard surely?

COYMFS.

I don't think you can criticise fans for wanting better players, ones capable of bringing success rather than a decent league placing, I would have thought that's what all fans would want for their club
You don't have to spend multi millions or buy superstars for every position either as Dortmund, Montpellier and Lille have shown in recent seasons, but what you need to do is be prepared to work hard to find better players and bring them in
We have the nucleus of a good team but until we get a decent depth of quality we will not actually win anything
I don't necessarally agree that Parker is a bad player, for most of last season he was excellent and deserves a bit more time this year after injury before being criticised but we could certainly boost the team if we could get better players in midfield and in other areas, hoping for some is not being negative at all just wanting the best for your club

Wish someone would put Davo on the transfer list. Every post is a complaint. Frankly Davo. you depress me and should actually do one.

Totally agree coymfs, Davo is constantly negative, never looks at the positives even when we win. C'mon Davo support and follow the club the rest of us are fed up hearing all the negativity when we are actually having a good season!

I agree with above but one poster but my point was that we need to get behind the players/squad we have, not slag them off after every performance good or bad (only in his opinion I might add).

COYMFS.

Negative or realistic?
In fairness, would you rather Rafa or Dempsey/Sig? Having both has not really been of much use as Sig has hardly played so not settled or delivered much at all, Dempsey has played because we are so short up front.
Livermore or Sandro/Parker?

We are so short in the squad that when we desperate for a goal in Lyon, all we could do was bring on Dempsey and Sig for Lennon and Holtby, then at the end Livermore for Parker??

It is very fair to say the quality of our best first XI is not as good as last year's, neither in ability or form man for man. The squad is also much smaller. It's still a good side and may grab 4th this season but, I fear goals will dry up and fatigue may see us fall short.

Hopefully we'll hang in there long enough, next three games may very welll decide our fate.

But my whole point was we have to get behind the players we have.
When you say would you prefer rafa to Dempsey/Siggs then I say what's the point in asking that. We have Dempsey/Siggs and not rafa.
My initial point was I'm sick of so called spurs fans digging out and bleating about the squad we have, other than getting behind our players.
I say again, we all need to be behind the team/players 100% and not bitching about them.

COYMFS.

But isn't this the place to moan about certain things? As long as we're supportive at the Lane and want the team to win. I will be tetchy all week about tonight's game and particularly Sunday's, desperate for a couple of good results. More than hoping that Dempsey will score, Sig will contribute and so on but, it does not change the fact we have one striker to pick who is out of form, two bit-part players that have joined from mid-table clubs when we could well be pushing for 3rd place this season. How far are you prepared to go with this support and optimism? Sell Bale and Lennon, buy back Routledge and Townsend and just say 'let's not moan and get behind them'? Might seem extreme but the more you accept down-sizing and down-grades then the more they might happen.

I think the original post was more about davo's permanent downbeat comments.
Things aren't all that bad at the lane at the moment but I think there is no pleasing some people.

Davo to be fair they do have a point, you come across as a morose, pessimistic, miserable little swine. Anyone would think we were in the Holte End at Villa Park, and losing to Bradford over two legs.

It was only 10 years ago that we were consistently midtable with the likes of Villa. Davo if you are so drawn to misery and gloom, then go buy a Villa shirt. They have a horrible ageing stadium, no money to renovate or replace it, a really poor squad, loads of injuries, a manager with the Charisma of John Major, a chairman who sold Barry, Milner, Ashley Young, Laursen, Mellburg & Downing, appointed Houllier & McLeish and have revenues falling away like sandcastles in the waves. Go and naysayer your nonsense in the Holte End, and tell Randy Lerner that they are paying too much money to players on the bench like Bent, N"Zogbia, Given, Ireland, Agbonlahor and even Hutton. Those 6 alone cost the club £17m a year in wages, and with no relegation clauses in their contract could be leaving for next to nothing.

Davo, in summary you might be advised to change your attitude. We are 3rd in the Premiership, are going to win the Europa League, have a superb nanager, a brilliant chairman, some of the top talents in the world on the pitch and we run the club within income & expenditure parameters.

Well f**k me the Boracle has returned like a barnacle clinging to something's bottom! Well sorry to say this but I don't give a s**t what you think! Yes I have a good moan about the club along with about 35000 others but also applaud it when it's due! I was brought up not to accept second best and respect was due when it was earned so sorry Ade, Parker, Dempsey, Bentley, etc, you don't get it! I can remember attending a function at WHL and was told by Mr Martin Chivers that if you played for a club, then you gave all and practically died for that club, not like the players of today! I am proud of my club, the position it's in, and most of the players but as its a banter page if they play sh**e then I will express my feelings, same as if they play well, levy ****s us again, etc etc
