Hi Ed, all this talk of Spurs potentially getting Hazard in the summer. I think he would be a good signing along with Vertonghen (granted Spurs acheive CL football which I think they will).
But surely Spurs must be looking for an out and out striker to sign, right? Is there, or is there still, any interest in Ba, Huntelaar, Rossi, etc? Do you think Adebayor will stay on? I have a feeling that he won't...in which case signing a striker would be the main focus, surely.

I agree he would have been thoroughly scouted ... The thing i do like about him that I have seen is his attitude .... He doesn't seem to ever look uninterested which I guess Is a good thing ... If its true I guess we need to look past the fact hes not amongst the highest profile of strikers and look towards what he does well and hope he could do well for us .... Although I just don't see it ... {Ed001's Note - no, I don't see it either, but then we are looking at him as a player, rather than as a piece of the puzzle. If you want to play a particular way, then you sign the players to suit that style. Remy is suited to a fast break team and Spurs play well on a quick break.}

Huntelaar would certainly be my choice, but is extremely unlikely. remy has a lot of benefits, pacey, skilful, good in the air and can play a number of positions. he is very highly regarded in france, and has the potential to be a brilliant forward. if we got remy id sign an experienced player to help out. i like dempsey at fulham for his goals, mentality and versatility or what about a cheeky bid to bring berbatov back?

The real question is though .... For the price we would have to pay for remy
A. Is he good enough for the prem to warrant what is it ? 20 m ? Or was that just the January price ?
B. surely if that is the price quoted are there not better strikers available for maybe that bit extra ie huntelaar ... Damiao * granted not proven but seems to have the required areas ie strength and pace to be able to stand a chance ... Whereas I'd say if you look at Remy he doesn't look that strong on the ball .... And isn't clinical / poacher ish enough to warrant a transfer .... Thats my view anyway ..... But I can't find anything about his agent claiming he will join ? {Ed001's Note - World Soccer mentions it in this month's issue, I can't think where else I saw it, but there was another report that was pulled quickly with Remy and his agent talking about him joining Spurs. There are others about but those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head (and the World Soccer one only because I was reading it earlier). Personally, he wouldn't be my choice, but I am sure Spurs will have checked him out a lot more often than I have. Huntelaar is not really an option, he is settled happy and playing well, he would cost over 30m and would expect higher wages too. If I come across any more quotes from his agent regarding him joining Spurs, I will make sure to post them up for you.}

Cheers Ed, if Adebayor doesn't stay on could you possibly see a cheeky move for Ba? Or perhaps an even cheekier loan move for an unsettled out-of-form top striker :-)...

Hass {Ed001's Note - no, I think it will be Remy, Adebayor only if Remy can't be persuaded. I don't think Levy would touch Ba due to the knee issues. There are so many problems that come with those kind of long term knee problems, but mostly insurance and the likelihood that injury will strike at some point due to the lack of training he will have to do. If it wasn't for the stadium issue not being resolved, I wouldn't be surprised to see Muniain join, I know he is highly regarded and he is available for the right price. But the stadium is affecting the club's ability to splash out.}
