Daily mirror reporting we are after meireles, kind of makes sense as avb seems to like him but I hope the fee is pretty low, under 10mil.
I'm not sure if it is true or just lazy journalism

Believable6 Unbelievable4

He's pretty poor and always seemed like a stop gap signing last year can't see us interested

Agree3 Disagree2

Very lazy journalism. Not happening

Agree0 Disagree2

Work this one through if , and a big if, he is a Spurs target the it will show that Spurs have to sell to but and in truth he really isnt anywhere near the quality o Moderic

Agree1 Disagree1

I really hope this isn't true! Average, I doubt this would appease fans for the lose of modric - moutinho however....

Spurs midfielder Luka Modric will fly to Spain today to finalise his move to Real Madrid.
Reports about the fee vary with Sky Sports claiming an initial fee of £23.6million, plus a further £3.9m in add-ons; however, reports from Spain claim Real will pay around £25million with around £5-6million more in add-ons. That brings the fee closer to the £35-40million Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy was demanding.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Pretty bad math there 25mil +6mil gives 31 mil so unless by around 25mil you mean 30 and around 5-6 you mean 10 it isnt getting up 40

Agree4 Disagree1

The fee is £27M going up to £31M.(35M going up too 40M)

Spurs Lad

Agree3 Disagree1

It says closer not exactly £35-40million...

Agree3 Disagree2

Just travelled back from hols in Croatia and amazingly Luka Modric was on the same 9:20 a.m. Ryan Air flight from Zadar to Stansted. He was also on Croation TV the night before playing for his country versus the Swiss. He appeared very relaxed and was happy to be photographed e.t.c. He seemed to be with his parents. I'm sure that he will go to Real Madrid but he sure wasn't in Spain today!

Agree2 Disagree2

I love the idea of Modric having to fly Ryanair. Did he pay the £10 surcharge so he could reserve a seat?

And people say footballers are paid too much.
KM

Agree1 Disagree1

RyanAir? Really?

Agree0 Disagree1

He 5).was definitely on the flight. People were amazed to see him. I paid the extra £10 for more leg room and (not that he's the tallest) he didn't even do that but sat one row in front. It appears that his parents live in Zadar so I'm guessing that this was the most convenient flight. The best bit was when they advertised their lottery cards and asked whether anyone wanted to be a millionaire and needless to say the Modric family didn't purchase one!

West ham are in talks with thudd tom huddlestone over a possible 5m move. Accordingly Thudd feels as if he has been pushed further down AVB's pecking order behind Livermore and Sandro so feels it may be time to move.
mk1 {Ed008's Note - Jenas more like it...

Believable4 Unbelievable10

They are not

Agree7 Disagree1

Far too good for that mob.
why would tom want to play away at burnley etc in a years time?

Rumours surfacing on twiter saying we have had a big money bid rejected by Valencia for their striker Roberto Soldado, any truth Ed? {Ed008's Note - It was a bid from January old news being recycled..

Levy in Bilbao for talks regarding Llorente according to . Ed have you heard anything about this? He would be an excellent addition. {Ed008's Note - Their's interest depends how much Bilbao want 1 year left on contract fee probably 15-20m but i'm sure he'll go Juventus unless Levy can persuade him..

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Why would Llorente want Europa League football when he can get Champions League football?

Agree3 Disagree5

I would bloody love this. how did you hear he is Bilbao?
shorty

Agree3 Disagree1

He is signing, agreement reached after friendly last year at WHL. Ade also signing and JD is not leaving. Kane 4th ST. Off topic but our U21 squad is going to be pushing for the title in the new competition. {Ed008's Note - Spurs do have a strong U21 squad for this season whose their 1st game ? I'm going to the Chelsea vs Man City U21 game tomorrow should be a decent game!

Agree4 Disagree4

"Why would Llorente want Europa League football when he can get Champions League football?"

the only other team showing proper interest are juventus , the most corrupt team in Italy and in a sh*t league.

{Ed008's Note - Not a sh*t league!

Agree3 Disagree3

Yea according to .com hes flown to spain to have talks to try clinch the deal but at the same time talking to madrid to sell modric maybe,if levy pulls thsi rabbit out the hat and signs Llorente i will hump my laptop till it breaks LOL

I don't think we will sign anyone this week. But heard people on there way out. Giofor 1

Agree6 Disagree5

You say it like it's a done deal, your source?

Sky Sport reporting that Moutinho isnt ruling out a move this summer?! .... interesting timing

Believable13 Unbelievable2

He's coming

Agree7 Disagree5

Im not convinced Levy will sanction the reported fee? Lloris' father and agent said he expects Hugo to come to spurs once the Modric deal gets done, £15M .... we need a striker(s), with Hudds back, Livermore coming on strong and Gilfi do we need to replace Modric? I prefer us to spend the money on strikers as much as id love Moutinho! Ed what do you think? {Ed008's Note - Surely bringing a GK in depends on 1 or 2 of Gomes,Friedel or Cudicini leaving more ?

Agree5 Disagree0

Mouthino is the one player who could take over modrics place in the team..class player and a class passer of the ball..can pick out a pass from anywhere.will cost us abit but its about time we splashed out

Apparently huddlestone talking to west ham in a 5million move according to caught offside

Believable3 Unbelievable18

Not a hope in hell in him moving to West Ham especially not for £5m worth at least £12-15m (look at Jordan Henderson). Also don't think we would sell him either

THFC4EVER

Agree9 Disagree5

Surely not, seem to be selling a lot of players!

Agree4 Disagree2

If we get m'villa some our midfliders will have to go most likely hud and jj, ed what u think about this rumour? {Ed008's Note - Theirs interest and a rumours of a bid being made that is all.

Agree1 Disagree1

Total nonsense

Agree1 Disagree3

How can you say Huddlestone is worth £12m-£15? You Spurs fans overrate your players so much. {Ed008's Note - £7-8M max!

Agree8 Disagree5

Huddlestone is crap I hope we sell, what does he do exactly apart from stand in the centre circle for 90 mins, a good passer i hear you say. well whoop de doo

What is going down the lane? why are spurs not signing a striker or 2! Newcastle is going to be a hard game as it is. Ed is it a wage problem with players not wanting to come? the fans need a statement from spurs or something as a top 4 finish is going to be hard this season with man city, man u, Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle all be up there. {Ed008's Note - Little bit of everything fee, wage personal terms etc if you were owner of club you'd think the same way as Levy trust me!

Believable1 Unbelievable3

There will be signings, probably not this week but I would envisage a few signings next week. Lets get it rubberstamped that Modric is gone and we will hopefully see the wheels in motion. I believe there has to players lined up, as Im sure DL & AVB knew Modders was going and that we needed strikers! Although I am concerned as to where the alleged huge transfer kitty has gone and the profits we have made from players sales over the last few season. Can any of the Ed's explain, and do they know of the up to date players we are interested in? Final note please get Lloris and Cesar!!

Stuart

Agree1 Disagree1

Well AVB has now said he will TRY 2 sign a new striker next week now..what happernd to buying before the newcastle game..looking at defoe against italy we can be assured hes ready so maybe him up front on his own for 1 game will be ok

DAPZ

Agree2 Disagree2

Should b okay for 1 game like u say not long term in the england game defoe also went out to the left were he scored his goal from him and bale can swap thru out the game so can lennon and dos santos may even play so for one game should be okay 3 points is the main thing

Apparently we have a £30 mill bid rejected for Roberto Soldado

Believable3 Unbelievable10

I find this highly doubtful, I'm sure we would be more likely to try to sign Negrado or someone like that (even llorente would be slightly cheaper!)

Agree5 Disagree1

This is a story from January. Regurgitated lazy journalism.

Think you'll find its Nobby Solano.

Reports coming from spain this morning saying Valencia have rejected a 'huge' offer for Striker Soldado.

What do you guys reckon?
{Ed008's Note - I heard that this morning Spurs apparently bidded for Soldaldo however it was in January and it's old news being recycled. Fee was like £30m i think it's made up as he's committed to the club.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

16 Aug 2012 08:44:34
Modders for 27m pounds? This is unbelievable. That's 13m pounds less that Chelski offered for him a while ago! Wao! {Ed055's Note - Personally I think 27 is OK i know its less that Chelsea offered but he is 12 months older now, 12 months less on his contract

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Also it is better that he has gone abroad rather than go to rival to come back and hurt us.

ANT

Agree6 Disagree2

We'll probably never know the true price - Sky Sports say £23.9m + £3.6m in add ons (£27.5m), whilst other sources I've seen this morning range from as low as £23m to as high as £34m. Who knows, and more importantly, who cares now? We needed the money in to kickstart our transfer bids. Time to get moving now. Sorry to see Luka go, but it was time. Llorente + Moutinho would be glorious....

Agree6 Disagree2

And he has gone abroad.

Spurs Lad

Agree1 Disagree0

Also how do we now that Chelsea officially offered £40million?? I'm just glad like most people he has gone abroad. {Ed008's Note - I don't think Chelsea offered that if you ask on Chelsea page the Ed there says a bid that high was never made if i remember correctly i think it was as high as £30m papers overreact on bids like that to sell.

Agree0 Disagree1

The fee is NOT £27m or anything that is being reported in Marca (Which is Real Madrids Sponsor Paper) it is £35m (around 42m euros) the fees being put about are to make Madrid look good in negotiating and also for spurs to look as if they ain't got shed loads of cash to splash.

THFC4EVER

Agree1 Disagree2

The highest Chelsea offered last year was 30 million + kalou or Alex, which was rightly rejected

Agree1 Disagree0

I think the fee may be slightly higher than 23mil but maybe not as high as 35mil but either way I think there is little point in having a player that doesn't want to be at the club and we nee the money to strengthen in other areas. Sad to see Modric go, he played well for us and doesn't deserve the abuse he is getting for leaving

Agree2 Disagree2

16 Aug 2012 08:22:26
Who realistically are we going to get up front before the window shuts?? Defo up top on his own is a disaster in my mind! {Ed055's Note - I am sure AVB has something up his sleeve - dont think it will be a big name like spurs fans want though -

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Isn't AVB supposed to have an eye for unknown talent? I thought that was one of the reasons levy brought him in

Agree5 Disagree0

ED055- I have to disagree with you mate, I think there is more pressure on AVB and Levy now to appease the fans after the supposed sale of Modric. I'm not saying it will be a Hulk or Llorente but a household name will come of that i have no doubt. Think Ade is one of two coming in and a CM + GK. THing is i don't think they will come until the window is nearly shut.

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't want to say it, and hope to God it isn't true, but word on the street is that Michael Owen is pushing for a move to the Lane... {Ed008's Note - I heard Stoke...

Agree3 Disagree1

Id take Owen as a back up striker, he not a force like he was but he knows where the net is and would be a good support player through the season. Spurs need a striker who will lead the line as well though, lorrente would be a great signing but feel he would go to Italy over England. We really need to act fast or face having Defoe and Kane for the first half of the season

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Aug 2012 07:56:19
Modric isnt going anywhere 40million is askin price and real madrid are not going to pay that, and aperently damiao will only leave for 47 million euros. Adebayor will sign after the wekend

Believable2 Unbelievable8

Erm.....Do you read the news or watch SSN at all mate? Deal has been agreed for Modders and just awaiting for a replacement for him until it all goes through!!
