I am a Gooner not here to slag you off....

I hear from a very good source that AVB plus a DOF is seriously being considered by your chief, Levy

How do I know ? I am well connected and have a buddy close to your club, dont care if you don't believe me. I will wear a spurs shirt to the Emirates for our next game if an approach is not made (it may happen over the weekend)

Believable3 Unbelievable3

WOW! mystic meg, I read that in the paper and Alan Brazil said basically the same as you and its on twitter , your as about connected as me and im not

Why would you tottenham fans want a failed Chelsea manager?... Plenty of better managers out there!!

Agree1 Disagree3

Every manager fails at Chelsea.
Even double winners get the boot.
I suppose mourinho a failed chavski manager too

Agree11 Disagree0

Are you sponsered by emirates?

Agree0 Disagree2

He was a complete disaster at Chelsea, personality of a cabbage, tactically clueless and had Zero (and that is being genorous) man management skills. The treatment of Alex and Anelka was just 1 of many of his many cockups. Strange appointment this even stranger that many of your fans seem to be in favour of it

Agree1 Disagree2

Boas had to work with players who run the dressing room, I believe he could be one of the best managers given time, something abramovich doesn't like to give, Id give di Matteo 6 months

Agree0 Disagree0

6 months , lol..thats not "time"

Agree1 Disagree0

Avb wants to play a certain way attacking entertaining football, couldnt do that with cfc's squad but spurs already play that way so he should be better at the lane

This is fact, Avb has agreed to be our new manager.

spurs guvnor

Believable9 Unbelievable6

But what about the fact , apparently, he can't work for another prem club for another 8 months?? {Ed001's Note - not true, just checked that out, there is no reason for him not to take the job.}

Agree1 Disagree3

Sure hope so think he will excel at us + i stand to win a tidy pound if true.Spurs till i die.

Agree2 Disagree1

Yer i heard its to be announced monday

Spurs Lad

Agree0 Disagree2

From what I know, you are spot on. The deal is done, and AVB will be the next Spurs manager.

Agree3 Disagree0

Is this 100% source or just a haunch Gov.
Spurs till i die .
Davy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thx for your confirmation about above comment ED.
I, for one, have a good feeling about this.
I'm thinking a DOF will be in too

Agree0 Disagree0

You may well be right in that he is able to wrk within a set period but I think that there is a clause that if he does indeed find work within a set period part of his compensation is either repaid or if the payout is in instalments that they are adjusted accordingly.

Tottenham have made an approach to former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas.

The Guardian says the young Portuguese was sacked by Chelsea last season but he has his admirers at White Hart Lane.

There has been contact via a third party and Villas-Boas would be keen to return to work in London.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is aware that Rafael Benítez, the former Liverpool manager, is out of work and would be receptive to an approach.

Just been reading all the stuff on Redknapp being sacked and they all say Spurs have got it wrong, none of the papers think that possibly they are wrong is this due to good old harry being good headlines for them, Levy and the board will have there reasons that the tabloids will not know, maybe the rumours that his agents where touting him for other positions showed that he wasn't committed to Spurs or just trying to create a demand so that he could get better terms from Spurs if this is so it back fired big time also his lack of respect for Levy on the TV interview while he was burying his mother wouldn't have gone down well, All Harry's interviews are about him and he turns comments round to suite the occassion, when he was in for the England position the players weren't bothered who the manager was, When he wanted a new contract it was turned to Players need to have stability in the manager so what is the correct comment

Believable12 Unbelievable5

Total rubbish:levy loved the thought harry was going to england for 2 reason one was the money he would get from the FA second he would be in this situation now (backlash) also its not just the papers saying he make a massive mistake its the old players, ledgends I.E hoddle etc and us the fans. Please before you stick up 4 levy give a back up answer y he made a good choice dnt just say harry hasent got a clue or we missed out on 3rd.Tell me what levy has done rite Rafa is one of the best tactical managers around ask liverpool fans but they wanted him out, were r they now? didnt he win the cl 4 them.Levy has the worst record for getting managers. Ill say this till he gets someone that has done better then harrry over 4 yrs
mr g

Agree6 Disagree8

I'm with the first poster on this one. Regardless of what Harry's mates are writing on the newsdesks it was clear as fish-piss that he wanted out. There were obviously mitigating circumstances (like our Jan dealings) as to why we missed 3rd place, but the bad run whilst he was hawking himself to the FA was too much to stomach and clearly Levy felt the same. His cackhanded attempts to renegotiate his contract through the media on the back of all this was hardly going to go down well either. Clumsy at best - insulting at worst. I'll miss Harry and I'd gladly buy him a pint to thank him for the good times (a sentiment not all supporters of his former clubs share - lets not forget that either) but his position was virtually untenable.

Agree8 Disagree4

Are you all so blind!!
We got the January transfer dealing of Saha and Nelson cause there were two big risks. The first risk was Harry going to Jail over the tax dealings (which meant not much could be done anyway), the seocnd was the England job which Harry was linked with before Capello quit as Capello was due to go after the Euros.

Therefore we got short term signings. It was obvious that we were going to be in this position in the summer in terms of the player situation of needing a new strike force and defenders etc).

Now in terms of Harry, he had it coming, his Media dealings well they speak for themself, whilst he is a good manager and has taken us to the next level, he can't take us to the top level wheer we want to be (If anyone slates me for that comment your not a spurs fan! I for one want to win the title).

Harry is a man manager but our run was so bad that we lost a 10 point lead over Arsenal. Then he would not come out and say I don't want the England Job after the support we gave him during the tax ordeal.

At the end of the day, we trusted Levy to bring HArry in, why not trust him again to take us to the next level. I do!

The Rabbit

Agree8 Disagree2

I dnt expect anyone to agree with me BUT still not heard a good defence from anyone regarding Levys mistakes to get me on side as its very east to talk about 3rd cl england about harry.Tell me ehat levy has done right
mr g

Agree2 Disagree1

Rabbit I'm far from blind but you sound like a stuck record. Didn't we sell pav and got in Saha. It's easy to say Harry did this and that tell me what levy did. Read what I wrote then comment.ill help you here.
Thing levy did wrong
1. Sacked jol during a match when we finished 5 th
2. Got santini joke
3. Goy frank a and made a director of football then let him go chelsaa
4. Then got that other joke in
5. Sold Berba last day of transfer poor replacement
6. Shed out £££ on Olympic stadium bit
7. Was going to be our new home if he won
8. Sacked Harry the man that let us gloat to the arse about cl Footi
Wow what a chairman in levy we trust?? On ur own mate
Mr g

Agree3 Disagree4

Levy & Redknapp had words after the Villa game and from there on it was clear to all parties (including the players) that Harry's future was on a knife edge. Levy questioned Redknapp's second half decisions (especially substitutions) and asked why we didn't try to win the game. The majority of the players love Redknapp but also accept that he has his limitations and this has been brought up by representatives during contract negotiations with Levy.

Agree4 Disagree1

What has Levy done right? Well he has taken charge of a club and got them punching way above their weight in terms of income and expenditure. he has backed EVERY manager that has worked under him with funds to go into the transfer market. He is the first chairman to finally get off his ars* and push for a bigger stadium ( mind you, why the f*ck are we STILL waiting?) and he has turned the club into a proper brand which has encouraged greater income through sponsorship and a greater presence around the World. Levys mistakes? He has made loads!! Ultimately he is the money man and the man that keeps the club solvent and financially competitive. What happens on the pitch is down to the manager. If the manager is p*ss poor its down to Levy, if he is great, its down to Levy. Lets get one thing clear Harry FAILED!!!! We had a bang on third spot and certain champions league football and he FAILED to keep the club in that position. Christ almighty, if he was the chairman of a company who had spent millions trying to make his company the No1 in its market and only succeeded in making it the fourth best, he would be out the door. Why do people think that Football is not a business?
Super Y*d

Agree8 Disagree2

Also bunny
What next level r u dreaming about that comes with world class players with huge wages and 100m + transfer funds I can see levy doing that. Modric is going 4 money if that was the case keep him and pay him
Mate wake up smell the coffee
Mr g

Agree3 Disagree1

Super yod me and you will always disagree but the only person to come on here a give a good count for himself and his defence for levy. Mate I am as gutted as everybody we didn't beat the scum to 3rd but no convinced the right man is about to take us to the next level nor do I thing levy will back it with money.besides city utd that's wat we have to beat can't see it

Agree1 Disagree0

Hes gone now, get over it. It doesnt matter what has happened, so all this griping is pointless get over yourselves and get behind tottenham.
Tspur

Agree2 Disagree1

I agree, no point in crying over spilt milk.

Lets all get behind Spurs. Whether Levy appoints a manager we like or not, the new manager will get backed with transfer funds and it's our job to support the team.

I do believe that this will the catalyst for bigger and better things. We will get a new staduim which will mean that we can sign players with higher wages (and therefore keeping our big players). I think Modric will go but you have to look at the bigger picture.

100% behind Levy and 100% behind support.

Come on you Spurs!

Why consder AVB he couldnt cope with prem or egos last time.Moyes is a tried and tested, succesfull Prem manager

Believable8 Unbelievable6

But we don't have terry, lampard and cole. Moyes is to defensive, however, AVB will match the footall we play at the moment

Spurs Lad

Agree6 Disagree4

He couldn't cope with players that think they are bigger than a club -Boas has alot to offer. Wouldn't have to change much in the way we play either

Agree3 Disagree3

Deffo agree with spurs lad, we need more of a fresh thinker plus a character who can attract bigger names than moyes. ABV also has everything to prove.

Agree4 Disagree2

Has anyone considered slavan bilic (croatian manager) . if he came he may be able to hang on to Modric and Bale

Agree2 Disagree4

Bilic has signed a pre contract agreement with Lokomotiv Moscow I believe

Agree2 Disagree1

Isn't he going to Spartak Moscow after the Euros? Otherwise would be a good shout I think.
AVB an interesting one, could've learnt some serious lessons from his time at Chelsea like make sure the owner shares your philosophy for real and not just until his spoilt brat players start acting up about it. Let's face it, if he wanted to stick everybody behind the ball like Di Matteo then anybody can do that.
The Spurs squad is probably a closer fit already towards what kind of profile he was trying to build, needs to add the right quality in the right places. Not convinced on anybody available to be honest, Moyes and Benitez would be the best bet for Premiership experience towards the right end of the table but won't get the style of play we are used to with either.

Agree1 Disagree1

Bilic has got a new job with Spartak Moscow, thats why!

Agree1 Disagree0

Anyone can do what win the fa cup and the champions league none of you give chelsea any respect but they are very succesfull and all that with a interim coach get real pretty footie looks nice but do you want to win trophys or be a gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

I give Chelsea respect for showing grit, being there in the first place and hanging in there until the end with their bodies on the line and backs against the wall but, I will give Lady Luck and the Footballing God of Spurs' Sods Law credit for...

* Ghost goal that killed of a tight FA Cup semi
* Huge slice of luck with Cech staying on the pitch by a split second technicality, personally i'd have taken the red and a pen.
* A narrow win in the final against a Liverpool side who struggled to beat Cardiff and lost 14 league games.
* Barcelona somehow not scoring at the Bridge after battering them....would usually be a one off but...
* Messi misses pen
* They cling on with 10 men somehow at the Nou Camp.
* 20 corners conceded and about 35% possession in the final yet Chelsea nick a goal in the dying minutes from their 1 corner.
* Gomes couldn't trap a bag of cement that night and look at him in Euros so far!
* Penalty missed by Robben in extra time.
* German team losing a penalty shoot out when ahead in it at one stage which never happens for England.

One or two of those things would be typical football but all of them plus a few more odd things was just totallly freakish. You just know if the scum had finished 4th then some of the above wouldn't have happened but that's our own fault.

Agree2 Disagree2

Oh and PS - they've also spent £hundreds of millions and still needed all that to win them.

Extract from Arry writing in the Sun.
Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has detailed his meeting with chairman Daniel Levy yesterday after his sacking.

Redknapp wrote in The Sun: "When I turned up for my meeting with Daniel Levy I didn’t know what to expect.

"I was just told by the chairman that he had spoken to the owner of the club and things were changing. I wanted to stay but that’s life.

Interesting to say the least if that is a direct quote in that "things at the club are changing"?

Leaves that open for takeover?
New management and squad?
New back room staff?

Eds what you make of that?

Opinions guys?

Mk1 {Ed001's Note - I don't know anything about that, he could be trying to hint at the AEG takeover going through? Or he could just mean he was the change that was needed.}

Believable5 Unbelievable0

15 Jun 2012 11:12:02
Ed, do you know if we are getting closer to buying Vertonghen or is there more doubts? {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware it is just waiting on the new manager and to check he wants him.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Cheers Ed

Ed, so you're 100% sure it's AVB? If so, when is the announcement? (Your integrity is on the line here.) {Ed001's Note - no, I am 100% sure he is first choice. Liverpool's first choice was Klopp, but they didn't get him. But I don't see any reason why they won't get AVB.}

Believable1 Unbelievable3

One person who has a chance, is fabio capello.

All the bookies have just slashed the odds on the betting and AVB has just moved into bookies favourite.

Do they know something we don't? {Ed001's Note - I did say he is the first choice, not Moyes.}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Gutted harrys gone and will be even more gutted if AVB gets the job. Levy has got it so wrong. We sacked jol and bought it Ramos has he not learnt his lesson? Harry has been punished for wanting to see his managment days out with us! Harry had his critics and made a few dodgy calls but all in all was superb. Fergie said we have turned into the best footballing side in the premier league that man knows his stuff. We will be taking a backwards if we appoint AVB or Martinez surely. Maybe Moyes could do something but unless we were to get a Guardiola or Mourinho i dont see how this is a good move. U will be missed arry. 1 very disappointed spurs fan

Agree11 Disagree4

I honestly think AVB would be the best choice, i think he wont have the immense pressure he did at Chelsea from the board and that will help him develop and relax into the role. Also he is coming into a team where the senior players dont run the club. I think he also has the right draw for a club that has been on the up over the past 4 season and his energy and ideas suit what is arguably one of the most exciting teams in the PL.

Agree5 Disagree6

Personally, I wold like Jurgen Klopp, any chance of this happening?

Agree1 Disagree5

No chance of Klopp

Agree3 Disagree1

Completely agree, we look a total shambles for start of next season now. Only way I could understand this move is if there was a ready made replacement. We needed consistency this summer to keep key players settled, now everything is up in the air. No manager, 1 fit CB, 1 senior striker, modric wanting out, Bale wanting out, VDV looking like he's off....

Short term thinking by Levy. We will struggle

Agree4 Disagree1

What A touch ..... I got 8/1 2 days ago .... ! Shame I only put a Tenner on it ..... Sad to see Harry go, but got a good feeling on AVB

Agree3 Disagree2

I think Avb would be an excellent manager for you's, he wasn't given nearly enough chance at chelski , add that to the fact they made it public knowledge that the guy was there to get rid of the seniors the bloke had no chance!!

Agree3 Disagree2

After reading quotes from harry, maybe everyone will stop snipping at levy. it sounds like the orders came from joe lewis. if there is to be a takeover perhaps in the background things are going on we know nothing about. im sorry but the tail end of the last two seasons speak for themselfs harry played magic football till xmas then everything went pear shapped last seaslon and the season before. wsho knows what the future holds at thfc, but as a spurs fan for 50 years i support the name and everything associated with so whoever the manager or new players may be, i for one will be 100 pc behind everyone of them. good or bad

He's a Liverpool fan .. And he claims he saw Martinez not far from tottenham
This could be him being bitter because they got rodgers ....
It could be true and he just so happened to be around London ....

Martinez was on ITV tonight for the Spanish v Irish match. It's amazing how your friend didn't mention how Roberto had a deployed parachute trailing behind him as he walked to the Lane later in the evening.

Wish people would check before making bollox up. Anyone watching the football would see Martinez was sitting next to Viera and Keane.

I dont normally post anything like this.. it wasnt during the evening it was around 10.00 am .... thats when he text me... maybe he was just airport bound and my freind decided to say he was around tottenham to wind me up... i dont know... i clearly annoyed people so i apologise .... i also should have known this as i watched the ireland match -_-
