tv reporting that Capoue has passed a medical, with the player himself saying that it's just paper work to sort out now. He went on to say that he will be at the training ground tomorrow, and that tottenham is the best club to continue his career

lots of news about us trying to sign erik lamela. very young and good, certainly one for the future. any news ed?
ConnorSpurs {Ed002's Note - Manchester United were interested before he left River Plate. Manchester City have been looking at him this season and are looking for talks after putting two offers on the table. Baldini said he would like to work with him again but there is little or no chance of a move to Spurs or Southampton who both enquired. Roma has no interest in talking to them at this time and are also resisting interest from Napoli, Monaco, PSG and Southampton but both Napoli and Monaco think they may be able to attract Roma's attention with a significant bid and Roma has started to look at a player who would coming in as a replacement. Spurs would like to discuss a deal for the player as part of more practical discussions on another player, but are well aware of a number of potential complexities. However, Roma would be happy to assist any club paying over the odds. An English club that were interested and stepped away because of the complex ownership & work permit issues, is again looking at the situation. None of this involves or has ever involved Liverpool.}

I to have to disagree with Ed008, I think Lemele is a solid target and is a viable aquistion due to Franco. {Ed008's Note - You mean Ed002? I don't think a deal can be done.

If the teams Ed has just mentioned are in for him, then we have no chance. Sad but true.

Many apologies Ed008, but is still think you are both very wrong on this player, I am certain he will be at WHL wearing the shirt this season and am certain your ITK's are not even in the game on this one, suggest you get new ones? {Ed008's Note - It's not a matter of ITK's it's an opinion is their interest? Yes! Can I see a deal being done? No! Levy would have to smash Spurs transfer record again can't see him spending that kind of money again..

Bickley, what makes you so certain? Do you know something others don't? Or is it just your opinion? If so don't knock others down on thier opinion.

Why thank you no name (think I will call you brown noser ) I am not certain about anything but I do apply logic to my rationale, what I did here was that we had a lot of money to spend this summer even prior to the Bale saga .We have already broken our transfer record twice this season so why not for a third time? what a statement that sends out to the rest of the premiership and further. as for Lemele he is the perfect fit and with Franco being at Spurs now I do not see why a deal cannot be struck, he would be a solid investment and is young, everything Levy looks for!

I'm a brown noser due to the fact I questioned your source? Interesting. The fact yours is also opinion how would you feel if people belittled you due to what you said?
Anyway, my question was more based around the fact I was hoping you knew something I didn't as i'd love to see both players in a spurs shirt. Seeing you felt the need to get defensive I'll just have a guess your another attention seeker.
Many thanks, Mr Brown noser. Love you!

Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Roma directors Mauro Baldissoni and Walter Sabatini met with Tottenham counterpart Franco Baldini in London on Wednesday to discuss signing of Pablo Osvaldo and Erik Lamela

My understanding is Lamela and possibly Miralem Pjanic. Osvaldo is of interest to Southampton.

Even better as Osvaldo sounds like trouble, every transfer window were linked with every man and his dog same again but the dogs are crufts quality and were getting them, looks like Levy/Baldini found Joe Lewis's wallet down the side of the sofa and not content with that he's even getting fringe players who usually hang round for years to go although I rated Thudd I'm even confident Ade will be shipped out kicking and screaming, think Bale will go as he's been far too quiet, hope not as team now far too good to for teams to double up on him and he'll run riot

Have faith in AVB/Baldini they know what we need and what we don't (huddlestone) example.
Sorry but really losing the will to live now Scotland have just scored

Hi Ed's
Any new on whether Adebayor is on the move. ? I guess he's hard to shift due to his high wages.
It is only Besiktas in for him do you know. Isn't there any Premier teams prepared to take a punt or a loan deal. Need to get him off the wage bill. I'd honestly keep Defoe. {Ed008's Note - He is proving difficult to shift that's what happens when you buy a donkey, no interest from PL clubs just Turkish teams.

Now that would be a good piece of business by DL. Pray everyone.

Let's not count our chickens yeah your right he was dreadful last year (except last few games) I don't think it would be bad to keep him, he can certainly help us out with the heavy schedule next year. If we sell and don't replace we could find the workload too much. In an ideal world we will sign another striker and then either Defoe or Adenauer could go.
On another note I would love to see more of Rosé, Carroll and The young talent of coulibaly. Give them all good cup experience and the future is looking bright.

Looks like Fulham have also had a bid accepted for Parker.
I still think he's good enough for the PL & wish him all the best.

It's helpful to log in and have a look back over old posts. Especially when some go down well. I've just been so used to signing off manually, I'm set in my ways. Cheers for the reminder Ed :)

Good News
" Hull City have agreed a £5million deal with Tottenham Hotspur for Tom Huddlestone, which will also cover the loan signing of his fellow midfielder Jake Livermore. Both players are due to discuss terms with Hull today and could undergo medicals.

Good news yes, but are we running the risk of selling off all our 'home grown' players and having smaller squads in various competitions? Is that why we might go in for players like Deeny?
Agree1

Or bring on some of the younger players in for want of a better word secondary competitions. Despite that I believe if you enter you should enter to win, but the financial realities result in different emphasis needing to placed on particular trophy subject to a clubs status.
