I hope spurs get Huntelaar, we need a 20+ goal a season player he is just that. Defoe on his own just dosen't do it for me and Ade just seems lazy again like he did at the end of his Arsenal & city career. Please Levy buy us huntelaar and let Lennon and Bale pick him out and lets see him bang in some goal. If i'm not mistaken i pretty sure they wanted 11m for him thats a bargain for someone who brings so much quality to the pitch. peace

Trouble is, his contract is up soon so levy won't pay more than 6/7 million. So he won't be a spurs player anytime soon.

Levy only needs to look at the well spent 22m Man United spent on Van Persie, who only had 12 months left on his contract. Huntelaar will get goals so 7m would be a bargain.

What is AVB's agenda. I see no direction what so ever. His love affair of Dempsey has to stop. Levy seriously stitched the fans up on this appointment. The club going backwards. We are now being put to shame by clubs like West Brom.

Agree with post above, joke's over now - AVB is showing no signs of doing anything different to his time at Chelsea.

We all want to give him time and know there have been lots of injuries this season but the issue isn't with the team he puts out it's his tactics and the way he carries himself on the touchline.

I honestly believe his jumping around antics can have a negative impact on the team and cause them to be jittery later in the game.

Let's move him on now before it's too late for us to achieve a top 4 finish.

Anyone think Dzeko could be tempted to the lane. City would sell for 16m i believe to free up cash. He is 20+ goalscorer. Still willing to give AVB a chance. et the guy at least finish the season then judge him or we are no better than gooners whinging on about wenger.

I think we need a centre midfieder who can pass the ball forward.
without modic and van der varrt dropping deep we have no one who can pick up a ball and make a inch perfect pass that splits the opposition open that allows bale, lennon and adebayor to do what they do best. huddlestone is like jenas (the crab) and goes sideways. his passing was shocking sunday.
Bale and lennon are getting marked out of the game because of our tactics at the moment. We have to go all out and get mouthino and william in january.

Dzeko is on 160k a week so very unlikely

Your all sick of AvBs love affair of Dempsey ??????
If we had a fully fit team Dempsey would be on the bench we are so undermanned due to injury it's depressing ....
Doesn't make avbs job easier knowing there are some fans that still expect a miracle with 7 first Teamers out ......
Pfffffffff

I agree that it is not easy with first team players out, but the particular issue we have is in central midfield and the absence of Dembele.

The 4-2-3-1 formation (which is a more accurate representation of what we play than 4-5-1) is a very forward thinking fluid system and overall it suits our players well. It provides compactness centrally and gives more space wide and with such good attacking wide players (including our FBs) it does unlock the potential of the team.

The problem comes with the dynamics of the central '2'. The downside of the 4-2-3-1 is that the front players can become quite isolated if there is not a central link as the '3' tend to play quite far forward. This can make finding them difficult and can cause attacks to break up as the ball either gets isolated wide (with the ball needing to be played backwards to retain possession) or crowded out centrally which causes us to slow our attacks and allow the opposition time to set up.

The way to prvent this is to make sure that one of your central '2' is an orchestrator, either of the quick pass and move dynamo type (e.g. Modric), or of the skillful dribbling type to make space to move it on (e.g. Dembele). What does not work is to have this played by a defensive midfielder, a quarterback midfielder, or a box to box midfielder. For example look at Holland during the euros - amaingly skillful team that imploded due to their quality players being isolated as they played 4-2-3-1 with 2 defensive midfielders (and when they switched they looked better but it was too late).

Our problem is that without Dembele we don't have the players to play this system. Hudds does not have the movement to be an orchestrator, Livermore does not have the range of passing or dribbling skill. Both of these guys are good central midfielders but they are not the right type.

Our first purchase has to be a creative orchestrating midfielder as cover/rotation for/with Dembele if AVB wishes to persue this system.

Avb is not the man for spurs. He should stay as scout.i love my club and feel we have no direction. We are a flowing team and he has no idea of how we play. Get rid.
