Anyone seen the giant billboard in Times Square New York eith a pic of Bale? Apparently American tv channel chose yit to advertise their coverage of the Epl. Good for Bale but even better for Tottenham. {Ed008's Note - Looked really good nobody can't say Spurs are getting global..

Hi guys, rumours are that we are looking at strikers, a lock picker and a new left back. Assuming this info is correct, who would be your realistic choice for each position? Solgardo, Erickson, Cauntrio!

Essex yid
{Ed008's Note - He means Soldaldo,Erikson and Coentrao..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wow ed your skills are limitless, your a translator aswell. Thanks as I would've been searching the net all night looking for these players lol

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought it was Soldado ed!

Agree0 Disagree0

Simmo {Ed008's Note - Jeez it looks like I made more spelling mistakes then the original poster I blame the tablet it auto corrected the names ;-)

Hearing rumours of a bid accepted of 14m euros for Jackson Martinez, think there's any truth ed's?
d00gie {Ed002's Note - Let me guess, Twitter?}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I heard rumours we was signing David villa.
These rumours where everywhere.
The apt word in your post is 'rumours'.

Agree0 Disagree0

14m euros your having a laugh more like 30m to get him

Agree0 Disagree0

The apt word in my post was rumour well done. Its the same word that is also in the web address of this site, hence me posting it here and asking if there was any truth?

Some people. !
d00gie

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes some people doogie.
Some people aren't so gullible either.

Agree0 Disagree0

Which begs the question why you visit a rumour website. apart from maybe the enjoyment you get from trying to belittle people?
d00gie

Agree0 Disagree0

My god doogie, put it away.
Calm down man!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey doogie. Is this not a banter site. If you don't like possible negative comments, then don't post.
Everyone has different opinions on here, they won't always agree with you believe it or not.
If you aren't big enough to take criticism after you post, then don't bother posting.
Jeez, some want it on a plate. COYS

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry fella's i'm not looking to argue with you, but come on you can't give a guy grief for posting a rumour on a rumour website?

Its stressful being a spurs fan at this of time of year, especially as strikers are disappearing left right and centre ;). anyway no offence meant, non taken

What if we promised to sell bale to Madrid In one or two seasons depending on cl, in return for getting higuain now? Could a deal like this happen? {Ed008's Note - No

Guess its us the fans who are paying for the new stadium. I like the new kits but come on £48 for adult and £42 for kids is a joke. Anyone else feel the same?

Spurs for ever

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Couldn't agree with you more. I my son would love a new Tottenham kit but there's no way I'm paying £42 4 a 5 year old.
Sussex Dave

Agree0 Disagree0

Pure and utter rip off. With £100,000s of spurs supporters globally they dnt care if 10 per cent dnt buy
Mr g {Ed002's Note - Spurs do not get the money from the kit sales.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs don't get money from the kit sales?

Agree0 Disagree0

Then if nobody buys it that'll change the price. I guess Spurs already have their cut as UA would've already paid to produce them. So win win situation. Spurs get their money and we don't get ripped off over prices. Can't tell me your all to fashion conscience to wear last years kit?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm in Australia and want to buy the new kit, and they are wanting to charge £75
we get stitched up for everything over here!

Agree0 Disagree0

Under armour paid us to make the kits. The only way the club benefit from general kit sales to fans is if you buy it direct from the club shop.

If Chelsea want Benteke then let them have him and offer them £15m for Lukaku - he's much better IMO
Simmo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Apparently lukaku won't play for avb again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did he expect to get in front of Drogba and Torres straight away then and sulk? Sturridge had been in good form at Bolton and wasn't evenAnelka still floating about too?
Seems all Chelski players jumped on the AVB slating bandwagon however it suited them to twist it, particularly whenever it was their own spoilt ways or failings that caused any issues.
Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

If you believe we can get Lukaku for £15 million you are deluded. Why would Chelsea sell a fifteen goal a season striker who can be a world beater and was brought for more than that initially as well as being younger than Benteke and equally as good.
Maybe nearer £35 million for Lukaku would be a sensible estimate.
Osvaldo still my choice.

People are saying Benteke has only had one good season but in the season before he joined Villa he hit 19 goals in 37 league games for Genk. At the age of 22 he has a record of 71 goals in 173 games for club and 6 goals in 14 games for Belgium. I say sign him up!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If that is the case, that makes him a 16 goal a season striker worked out as an average, with one season in the EPL. If that's worth £25-30 then the world really has gone mad.

Firstly, Benteke won't be coming to the lane and neither will any of these strikers in the £15m+ bracket.
When have you ever heard of Spurs splashing the cash. ? We are always linked with these big name, high priced players but we have never actually signed any of them and this window won't be any different.
Yes, Spurs will indeed buy a striker but I absolutely guarantee that the fee paid will be under £12m so stop hoping for all these players with high price tags and start looking at actual possibilities in the £5m - £12m bracket!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We've just spent £17m on Paulinho! Jeez!

Agree0 Disagree0

Definitely a gooner posting this.
If he is a spurs fan, I'm surprised he could post anything whilst being so awashed with tears.
Downer or what!

Agree0 Disagree0

WTF! We don't pay 15 million for players, wakey wakey sunshine we have just bought Paulinho for 17 million and if i`m not very much mistaken that is more that than the 15 million top bracket you refer to.

I`m sorry fella but your post is the worst for a long while! FACT.

Much love

Agree0 Disagree0

I've been a Spurs fan all my life and often go to the lane but I just get so fed up and frustrated every transfer window when everyone links us with high priced superstars as do the fans when in reality Levy is never going to spend that money and every year is proof of that. Stop dreaming and discuss realistic targets in a lower priced bracket because you know that Levy isn't going to splash the cash on a multi million pound striker!

Yeah he spent £17m on Paulinho and that was a club record signing and you can bet your life he was crying when he handed over the cash, so if you really think that he's going to hand over another £20m+ on a striker then you're dreaming!

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate, you say dreaming.
Your whole 2nd post is just pure speculation.
Come back with some hard evidence and we may listen.
Levy has already broken our transfer record just 4 days after the window opened. Who's to say he won't break it again? You? Well it must be a fact then.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hard evidence you say. How about every transfer window gone by!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok, repost on the 3rd sept and not the first week in July when the transfer window would of gone by.
Jeez, not that hard surely is it.

Agree0 Disagree0

So much negativity around here. It's pathetic. No wonder trawlers come on here and take the p, ss.
Just get behind the team ffs, if you can't, don't bother posting. It's depressing.

Agree0 Disagree0

What's depressing is all they hype each year of who we'll sign and constantly being let down!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if you choose to believe 'ITK' and papers then that's your problem mate.
I, for one, don't believe a word until the player or official site say it is happening.
The world is full of attention seekers (ITK) and papers that need to be sold. So if you choose to believe these stories then you are going to be 'let down' alot.

Rumours regarding Bale have all gone quiet, and the same can be said about Higuain who looked destined for Arsenal. There are strong rumours that a major deal is being discussed TODAY. Surely not Higuain snatched from under the nose of Wenger, now that would be hilarious.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

'Rumours' mate. 'Rumours'
Maybe just like David villa rumours.

Agree0 Disagree0

Higuain would be a brilliant signing, even better when 'they' thought they were getting him. Won't happen though.
Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

They seem to being linked with everybody at the moment too. Jovetic, Rooney, Higuain. all would be quality additions to any PL team. a lot of agent and media noise I suspect.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2013 08:57:09
Personally, I think Benteke would be a huge mistake and honestly feel that spending that type of cash within your own league will only weaken us. think about it - You give Vila rumoured Defoe & Cash (15M-+) they reinvest it and maybe find 2/3 more under cover stars and now they 3/4 Quality player better and we just sitting with 1 with huge amounts of pressure on his shoulders. IMO

Another one got away. £4.4 mil for a guy who know where the net is. Why waste money on a dof when it's clear levy is holding the strings. 5mil for adi and 6 for Dempsey hmmmm. I bet he tried to get him on loan or a free.
All our reported targets Are going one by one. Are we waiting for a 20 mil offer for adi and 15 mil. For the HUD?
When I comes to our players he wants top money.
Getting concerned now. Are we finished with just Paul?
Mr g

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Optimistic as usual Mr G. It's the 9th of July. There's 7 weeks of the window left. Calm down. How can you get concerned that we are finished when it's only 9 days into the transfer window. I am concerned that there are quality players going for reasonable fees and we aren't getting them yet, but I'm not concerned in the slightest that we're finished.

David Villa didn't want to leave Spain so we didn't miss out when he didn't want to come.

What do you want? 7 or 8 new players, then try to get a whole new team to gel? Like Sunderland have been doing every year? because they're doing so well. We are building a team not having wholesale changes. That's the right way to do things, otherwise you could end up with a load of overpaid flops on high wages and head down the same route as Southampton, Leeds, Portsmouth. Daniel Levy knows what he's doing.

Try and think a little more positively and calm the F down.

09 Jul 2013 10:25:30
have you not thought that david villa actually wanted to stay in spain?

Agree0 Disagree0

We are 9 days in to the window get a grip mr g. thank god you are not dealing with our purchases as I think we would end up panic buying listening to you posts

derbyshire dave

Agree0 Disagree0

As usual mr g, you post before checking facts.
It's been confirmed that us and Fiorentina offered €3/4million euro more than what athletico bid.
Villa wanted to stay in his own country and wanted CL football. As soon as athletico came in then nobody stood a chance. I'm getting sick and tired of fans posting on here slagging spurs off without knowing the facts.
You need to look at your post again. Copy and paste it on 3rd sept if we haven't signed a striker or 2. In the mean time, give them a chance and get behind everyone ffs.

Agree0 Disagree0

You said it yourself 'reported targets'.
How do we know they are targets?
If you believe every 'ITK' or paper you read, then you are a fool.
Wait to hear from the player, as in paulinho, or wait until you read it on the official site. Otherwise, take it all with a pinch if salt and don't be so gullible.

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree with Dom, The window has just opened, we have time at present, Villa I hoped would join even for a few seasons, But if a player doesn't want to come to us then jog on.

Levi, will spend, he knows he has to to make that final leap to get into the top 4, as teams around us are going to strenghten - We will proberbly sign 2 forwards that's have not even been mentioned. Baldini wasn't brought in just to pick up his weekly wages. Personally I would keep Defoe. Atleast he puts a shift in.

Agree0 Disagree0

When it comes to a straight shootout between Spurs and Chelsea, I'm afraid there's only ever going to be one winner. And they ain't wearing white. Let's be realistic here. Benteke = young Heskey. Soldado = quality who, like Villa, will not leave Spain. Gomez = huge, missed opportunity. Negredo = another missed opportunity (who we were closely linked with in the last few windows, and we're now up against City if we want to pursue that. Again, like Benteke and Chelsea, no chance. We also allegedly missed on Heung Son-Min because we didn't act. The likeliest purchase might well be Jese from Real Madrid's second team. Has a chance to be a good 'un, but in all honesty, a bloke called Jese doesn't do it for me, I'm afraid.

Without sounding a bit down in the mouth, this is starting to sound eerily familiar. Transfer windows should be a time of renewed optimism, not the appearance of a black cloud of depression and angst!

Just think, if we'd been a bit more proactive, we might well be sitting here with a Villa-Gomez strikeforce for the princely sum of £20m. Come on Daniel/Andre/Joe. please!

BigBird72 COYS

Agree0 Disagree0

It would normally be an easy choice in a spurs/Chelsea shoot out but we are in a World Cup year. Any move now, by an international striker, needs to guarantee first team football. Arsenal and us can offer that, Chelsea can't. So it might not be as clear cut as you think.
