We all know that this season is a disaster
I for one are not expecting anything from it
We need a proved manager with pedigree with the backing of the chairman. Scrap this dof idea and let the manager but the players he wants for they way he wants to set his team up.
Only us can spend over a 100mil on players and 2 managers later still struggle. me levy is slowly ruining out club we are no longer a big club.

Hate to break it to you . but we haven't been a big club in a long time. We flounder around and watch teams like Wigan, Swansea and Cardiff take trips to Wembley for cup finals. Damn those clubs have been more successful than us the last 5 seasons or so! How big a club does that make us?

Playing a high line defence with Dawson and Naughton away to the league leaders iwas suicide. We could have been 2 down in four minutes. We were set up for balls through the middle for their pacy forwards to run on to. Sherwood must go. He does not get the team selection or the tactics even close to being correct. I also fault our attitude/ motivation ( again managers job). Can you imagine a team playing like that for SAF? He would have their guts for garters. We must get a solid defence and build from there. Mourinho knows that if they score one goal they will win most games because they will not concede a goal. Roll on next season, hopefully with a new top class manager.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes a team did play like that under SAF remember when they lost to man city 6-1

Just reading on ssn about TS moaning that we lacked character and he wasn't going to let the players forget it! Perhaps he ought to look at who picked the team . Perhaps he never learnt about players playing in their correct positions and how it cost AVB his job! It's one thing trying new formations, but not in a game like this!

Bad luck my @r$3. We always capitulate with weird and wonderful ways of self-destruct to blend with the misfortune and often crazy decisions and moments that go against us.
Penalty and red looked very soft to me, only saw it back once as turned off at that point. Just read we gifted the last 2 goals as well?
We're always a joke in these games, we never make any of our own luck and end up a laughing stock.
We might as well go all out for Europa League and then just make sure we beat the $cum next week and finish their title chances. After that there is NO chance of 4th as we will find a way to implode at Anfield as well.
Can't even be bothered to comment about the line-up, we've had all sorts of crazy moments in games at that place in recent years anyway regardless of the team.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You make your own luck. This team and THFC in general for the last few seasons has lacked someone to wake the rest of them up. There is no leader on this team that will confront his team mates.

And I can't ignore it any longer but LLoris distribution of the ball leaves a lot to be desired, he is not innocent in creating some of the issues at the back either, as good a keeper as he is.

Hi fellow Spurs followers. Well today's result once again marked the great divide between us and the top teams. It is very unfortunate when boot laces come undone or players slip at crucial moments, but what cannot be forgiven is playing like a Premiership team for one half and like a Sunday team for the next half.
Back passing in ones own half is risky at the best of times, but to proceed to make almost a half of it does not make any sense at all.
Let's hope TS has a clear the air session there and then and move on with the important Benfica game on Thursday and the Gooners next weekend.
Heads up boys, put that debacle behind you and move on.
COYS.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wow, clear the air session, like to be a fly on the wall there! We were finished the moment that team was picked! Yes we have injuries, yes bad decisions, yes bad luck, but what team doesn't have this!
I couldn't think of another manager, except Arry, who could have such a love affair with Dawson, Bentaleb, Siggy and Naughton .
I don't think I could name another manager who would play Walker in the midfield, where he looked totally lost every time he got the ball . Just because Bale made the change, doesn't mean everyone can .
I don't think I could name another manager who would play Lennon behind the striker!
What was he thinking this morning when he woke up! Can't wait for this season to end, get the World Cup over and get in a manager who knows what he is doing! Be nice if we won Europa league, but beat Benfica, at the moment we couldn't beat an egg!

Agree0 Disagree0

Walker was employed to stop hazard, which generally worked. hazard had a very quiet game.
I also remember jolly played lennon in the very same role, also against the chavs at the bridge.

for all the disappointment, they had 4 attempts on target and scored them all. a slip, a dive, a slip and a moment of walker madness.

I thought tim was going to explode on sky, it was a very honest and refreshing interview, but god knows what it will do for team spirit.

im starting to warm to him a little you know

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Bucks but Walker looked so out of touch it was unbelievable! And by playing Walker there we was left with Naughton at right back alongside Dawson, total disaster!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well the first half went pretty well though?
considering they are favs for the title, playing at their ground we gave them very little and looked the better side albeit with little cutting edge.
we had a couple of early scares within the first five mins, but settltd and dominated.
the second half can't be evaluated as the first goal came pretty quickly, followed by the second.we all know the circumstances for these goals, and they weren't from chelseas dominance, class or our capitulation.

gut wrenchingly disappointing and frustrating Saturday night endured but I bet some of the players felt worse after Sherwood laid into them.

Agree0 Disagree0

After the 2nd goal team discipline and structure fell apart. This I believe is some of what TS was referencing. What was Walker doing in left midfield to head the pass through to Ba?

Agree0 Disagree0

Trying to work out where he should be playing!

Agree0 Disagree0

And who lays into TS for picking the team?

Agree0 Disagree0

Walker didn't seem to have that issue for the first 45 mins.

Individual mistakes cost us today we were in control until the first goal well done Samuel ego for spoiling what could have been a great game of football u cheat when u play against the best sides u need a bit of luck and we had none today but feel we need a bit more fight when things go against us the goals were so sloppy we did not make them work for it still believed Sherwood is the man to take us to the next level. thoughts

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We rarely get any luck and very often get bad luck I've never seen a team get soo much bad luck we are cursed. Whether it be bad decisions against us, injuries or the woodwork its relentless.

Sherwood is most definitely NOT the man to take us to the ' next level'.

what a terrible team selection from crap sherwood I think he is going out with bentalebs mother and walker in midfield instead of fullback and we are so boring to watch I won't give spurs a penny of my money we are in decline no champions league again no trophys again don't worry we will be linked with all the top manager and players in the summer and get none i'm very close to giving up on spurs and not support anyone

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It is easy to support your team when they r wining but it a true fan who supports them when they r losing

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to agree. As soon as I saw the Spurs lineup I was confident we'd be fine for three points.

And do we want to lose Vert by playing him out of position? Dawson still there? Naughton at right back? Oh please, could this get any worse? Hopefully ssn have the wrong team sheet!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well you can't say Sherwood hasn't mixed it up . Chelsea will have to break us down. I think TS has attempted to cover our weaknesses reasonably well considering who is actually fit and capable of potentially lasting 90 mins. I would have preffered Paulinho over Bentaleb to start, other than that not sure what more TS could, have done to try and over whelm the middle of the park.

Agree0 Disagree0

Need to turn sky off, 1 min gone and Dawson already up to his normal standard!

Agree0 Disagree0

Walker needs to sit deeper to help protect Naughton and Dawson or breaking us down isn't going to be to difficult based on the first 5 mins.

Agree0 Disagree0

LLoris escaped a red in the first minute, but Kaboul gets caught for nothing. Guess everything evens up in the end.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed008's Note - Eto'o was offside so Lloris was never going to be sent off it was minimal contact aswell, the penalty is very soft and i consider Oliver to be the top ref in the Premiership the tactics are so messy from Sherwood i don't even know where Walker is playing he's right, left, centre everytime he's on the ball not sure what Sherwood is seeing in Bentaleb except composure on the ball? Offers very little and Paulinho is on the bench..

Replay shows Eto'o was in line with the last defender, which I believe means he was not offside. Admittedly it's close and without the benefit of instant replay can't fault the officials to much. The whole TS experience I find bemusing, trying to understand his thinking.

Agree0 Disagree0

As if to prove your point Ed8, Walker gets an assist.

Am I reading the team sheet right? A midfield three of walker, Lennon and Siggy, plus Bentaleb back in . Wow, this is different and possibly suicidal?

After reading peoples comments on the england team, what would everyones team for the world cup be?
barring injuries mine would be
4-2-3-1
Hart
Walker
Cahill
Jagielka
Baines
Gerrard
Wilshere
Barkley
Rooney
Lallana
Sturridge

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mine is a 4-4-1-1

Hart

Walker Cahill Jagielka Shaw

Lallana Gerrard Wilshere Townsend

Barkley

Sturridge

I'm all OFF board the Rooney band wagon. He is so out of form at the moment.

It's about time we trusted in younger players and looked to the future, rather than playing the same stagnant players all the time. Yet, I feel we'll need the experience and passing abilities of Gerrard, the captain, in the centre.
