what do you think ed?:) {Ed001's Note - I fail to see the relevance of that at all.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Who was the other one maybe we've signed them too...

Agree0 Disagree0

He was probably Bilbao's worst player and we play so much better with 4-4-2

Pavlyuchenko has to go its as simple as that, he is shocking most of the time and today proved it. Some russian team must want him surely, getting new strikers is now becoming painfully frustrating and its such a glaring weakness of our team that its unbeleivable that we havent signed one yet.
Sort it out levy

Agree totally; the Russian is not good enough for a top four team in he Prem; actually he is not even good enough for the top six

Agree3 Disagree0

Agree 100% had enough of him he didnt even try unforgivable, if i was levy I'd be ringing cska up and offer him in exchange for seydou doumbia & Alan dzagoev or to zenith for bruno Alves

Agree2 Disagree1

Keane , crouch , Defoe then pav .... In order of who needs to leave first

Agree0 Disagree3

Guv, I agree mate. Pav is pathetic and needs to be sold asap. Him and keane should be shown the door. Azza

I see brian mcdedmott of readingexpects there to be a bidding war for shane long.
i really wish levy would take a gamble on him.relatively cheap, although unproven in the p/l but surely worth the risk?he can only get better and better and seems to be a genuine professional who scores goals.what do others think?
im not saying hes the 20 a season player we need, but as a squad player he could be great.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Been irish iv seen a lot of him and yes he's a real handful with his pace but lacks the composure in front of goal to make it at a top pl club he'd be a good signing for a side looking for mid table security but not if your looking for cl qualification, he's not a notch on Kevin Doyle.

Agree1 Disagree1

Funnily enough, doyle is another player i like, with potential to improve greatly as he plays alongside better players.
dont you think that long could improve though as he progresses?

Agree0 Disagree0

Not really mate he's not calm enough and gets flustered and thats something you have or haven't got u can't coach it into him Doyle has it reckon he'd be a cracking signing, funnily enough long has played on wing for ireland quiet a bit and has looked great there

To all those people you slagged me off three weeks ago when i said the reason we missed out on CL was because we played 451 all season, u need to watch the game today ...1st half 451 clueless, inept and no direction...2nd half complete opposite cause we played 442 and used are most potent weapon..bale and lennon and had people in the box

Believable3 Unbelievable0

With vdv we cant employ a rigid 442 system as he plays in the hole.

Agree2 Disagree0

And although he is a world class player..there lies the problem..it pains me to say it but he does not

Agree1 Disagree0

Put an application in then to be Tottenham coach mate. You are obviously wasted on here. Did you think nobody else had thought of it? Dear oh dear.

Agree1 Disagree0

I didnt realise they where taking people on, cheers for the heads up mr nobodies allowed an opinion

Agree1 Disagree0

Looks like you are the Mr Nobody pal? Where is your paw print? From Mr Nobody. name and address witheld.

Watched the Spurs game and felt first half was disjointed and lacked flow or purpose. Second half was a different story. Bale and Walker made a real difference, Modric was classy and brought out the best in and impressive Kranjcar. Defoe and Crouch played well, Defoe looking predatory and Crouch looking awkwardly effective.

Very impressed with Llorente, he looks like a skilled version of Crouch. Good in the air with excellent touch.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Only watched game on itv4.
walker reminds me of so many full backs these days, great attacking but his main role is to defend, where he got caught out a couple of times.does look as if will play in the first team this season though.
pav seemed to play his normal frustrating game, for me hes a sub who has an impact in the last 25 mins with his impressive goal scoring record.
defoe has looked sharp all pre season according to harry.well he didnt at mk,in fact he was bloody awful there.im still not convinced by him.
nico continues to confuse me.fantastic player but can he play with modric or is he a luxury to far?
and why does crouch duck to head the ball?use your height to get to the ball and use that to your advantage
llorente.looked a good footballer, but is he any better than our current strike force?looked like he would adapt to the league ok and score in it without setting it alight.what are others conclusions after todays game?

Agree1 Disagree0

Dont want llorente he looked massively average. I think he would be found wanting in this league.

Llorente average and no better than pav Your having a giraffe my son. He is an excellent player and exactly what we need. Im surprised at your bold opinion considering the rest of your post is soo well written.
I have heard we are in talks with lukaku but time will tell hey, afterall levy seems to think we have all the time in the world (3windows and counting). Im off to the bilbao match now and i will compare llorente to pav n defoe, my guess is llorente is better than both put together and chuck in crouch too

Dear Loyal Spurs Fans

Have no fear we are all so used to suspense and drama, but it will all come right. You are probably thinking why is this so difficult when the solutions seems clear.

Sell Keane, Crouch, Bentley, Jenas, Palacios, Krancjar, Hutton and Cudicini. With Woodgate and O'Hara already gone there is significant transfer proceeds and wage savings already.

Then stop holding back our youth and allow Kyle Walker, Kyle Naughton, Dos Santos, Bostock, Caulker & Harry Kane to have some airtime instead of shipping then out to all and sundry. Bale was woeful for ages before becoming the world class star he now is.

Lastly stop wasting time arguing over a million here and there. Sure buying Van Der Vaart was great business at £8m but Suarez was ours for the taking last time round and we failed where a club rooted to the delegation places and no European football succeeded.

Levy please stop looking for average solutions, Llorente is no better than Pavlyuchenko or Defoe and Samba is not in the same league as Dawson, King, Gallas or even Bassong or Kaboul. Spurs as Harry put it need two or three top quality players to take the club to the next level. So who should we buy is the question:

Diarra would make sense if we sell Palacios.
Thomas Sorenson is a brilliant keeper and should be bought now with Friedel and Gomes helping develop him.
Samuel Eto'o has fallen out with Inter and could be the catch of the window. Massive wage demands should not deter us if we are serious about the next level. This would reaffirm our ambition and allow stars like Modric, Bale and Van Der Vaart to see light here.
Ibrahim Affellay is there for the taking as Barcelona try to find the extra funds for the Fabregas acquisition. Stop delaying and get him signed now.
Lastly and simply quite amazingly, WHY has Boone gone for the most underrated striker in the world Lukas Podolski. Proven, tough, suited to English football. £12m - £14m is a much better investment than Llorente who has consistently been average his whole career.

guys, i've just realised that the team that martin jol's fulham have to play in the europa playoff, is none other than Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, managed by a certain spaniard by the name of Juande Ramos... you couldn't write it

.................Rossi
...Bale.......Modric.......VdV
.........Diarra.....Sandro
EKotto.Kaboul.Dawason.Walker
...............Gomes

what do you think lads? Azza

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Samba rather than kaboul. And Llorente would be fine instead of rossi.

Agree0 Disagree1

..................GOMES....................
.WALKER..GALLAS..DAWSON..BAE.
................SANDRO.................
..........VDV..........MODRIC
LENNON..........................BALE
................DAMAIO...................

Agree1 Disagree0

Kaboul is a awesome player was qaulity for portsmouth when he started all the along side dawson he wud be great

Agree1 Disagree0

Samba isn't as good as kaboul ... And Llorente whilst marginally better than the rest of our strikers doesnt say much ... However if we * and its looking likely * don't get q striker in i say give soulymane a shout ... Can't be worse than what we have now right ?

Agree1 Disagree0

Friedel, walker, cahill, daws, BAE, bale, hudd, modric, lennon, VDV, rossi.
I would play hudd in every home game due to the amount of possession we have. sandro away games.
