I am sick of listening to how tired our senior players are. They are full time, highly fit professionals and most of them have only played two or three games other then the league. Surely they are capable of playing 38 to 40 games in a season?
I watched Chelsea tonight and against the gooners. I know they rested most of their squad against gooners but they still got a good result. Their display against Barca proved what I have been saying on this site, you win games/competitions with a good defence. Last year we had the fifth worst goals against in the premiership and we are not much better this year. a good defence gives those in front of them confidence. You can not lose games if you do not concede goals. We are like a sive. Dad's army. Sir Leds is finished and should not be retained. We need good strong and fast defenders.

The Don

Disagree I think Ledley should be given next year a player coach contract .... To give him that transition .... Not to mention this year up until January he's been tremendous his knees are not used to this many games a year ... Hed be a very good backup don't write Him off Completley ...
But my cb pairing next season would be
Kaboul and Caulker I wouldnt loan caulker back out ... As our need for him would be great

Sounds like a job for David Moyes, he would start by building a very disciplined hard working unit I would imagine

Hay all..... We are all wondering about new signing for next season BUT cl is so important as that would determine our MANAGER...... That would be the 1st signing I would think no?? Arry is going other wise he would have said it by now. So let's see who levy being in and lets see the board ambition they are not the best at choosing managers. Levy put up or sell up

I would actually prefer Lambert to Roders. He seems to be more tactically astute and flexible, and has more experience in europe (won the cl with dortmund in the 90s as a player). He also has arguably the least talented squad in the prem, they were in league 1 two seasons ago. As barca proved last night, possesion is all very well, but you need to convert it into goals. I just don't know if rodgers would be able to look at a game and change it from his 'swanselona' setting

Shall we do a poll then ?

Moyes agree

Rogers disagree ....

Moyes would be good choice if we get cl or not because he will build from the back. Defence has always been our weakness. if we get him we may get Baines at lb which would push bae. We then need 2 new cb's and 3 forwards. Based on moyes past signings with little or no cash i think he would get in better strikers than we have had for a long time.

I also hope you are wrong, but if I had to place my own hard earn cash on it, unfortunately my tenner say your spot on :-(

Flippit

Your dreaming. Based on our current form and the possibility of finishing 6th having lost nearly every game since Xmas there will be no big marquee signings. Based on true form we'll probably sign a new manager and that's it with the promise of signings in Jan, then when Jan comes round nothing will happen again except a few loanee's with the excuse that the money is all being spent on the new ground and the fact that the kitty was dry from not reaching CL again.

I really hope I'm proved wrong but that's what I can see happening

Definitely agree that the new gaffer will be the most important signing of the close season. The new manager will have a huge bearing on the team we have next season. It will most likely be Rodgers or Moyes who comes in, very different managers with very different ideas.
Potential Rodgers 11 (4-3-3): Vorm/Walker/Caulker/Kaboul/BAE/Parker/BBadelj/Dembele/Bale/Remy/Moses
Potential Moyes 11 (4-4-1-1): Friedel/Walker/Kaboul/Dawson/BAE/Hoilett/Parker/Banega/Bale/Dempsey/Llorente

I think levy has done well. He needs to bring in good manager i like rodgers at swansea and lambert at norwich. o'niel would be great but cant see him leaving sunderland. Moyes is still a good shout.

I have read many worrying articles regarding the potential acquisition of Kasper Schmeichel. His dad tried desperately to get him into Man United when they desperately needed a keeper and Sir Alex didn't even want him in the reserves. he has been average in his career to date in lower league clubs, and had to join Man City as a trainee when they were in a total mess. Didn't get a look in there and has subsequently been loaned out to Darlington, Bury, Falkirk, Cardiff, Coventry and Notts County. He was rubbish at all those clubs before Scen Goran Eriksen decides he was the next Schmeical senior. Lasted a year before getting a free transfer to the dizzy heights of Leicester City where he has been average at best.

Let's hope this is wrong as Kasper is sadly not even in the same league as his father. Get Vorm and get rid of the erratic and average Gomes.

The Oracle {Ed001's Note - it was Leeds who took him for a year, before Sven, at Leicester at the time, took him there on a free. Most Leeds fans think he was a weak link in their team at the time though, so you were right about that bit!}
