Great goals tonight but for large parts Fulham were the betterr team. Why pick Defoe he needs about 20 whack the ball as hard as you can chances to get one.
Anything but 3 points against Sunderland then Avb has to go.

Win tonight was no thanks to AVB. Starting with three defensive mid fielders? Defoe should not have been on instead of Soldado. Missed a few good chances. Needed a center back to equalise against a team that others are beating for fun. Surely everyone agrees now that AVB must go. His tactics are not working and he is too pig headed to change. His selections are mysterious at times. He has ruined what was always a free scoring Spurs. True he has tightened up the defence but that is no good if you can't score goals.
Tightened up the defence initially but now we've shipped 6 against City, gave away 2 gifts to United, had let West Ham get 3 and conceded just 1 tonight but had some very very shaky moments which could've seen it more like 3.
Simmo, until we get Vert and Chiriches into the CB roles together week in week out, then we will have trouble! Everyone knew LB was a problem, but nothing was done, and Benny was loaned out ( not that he is any good but better than nothing )
If any part of the team needs to be consistently playing together its the centre spine of the team, Lloris, Vert, Chiriches and Sandro!
Spot on dave
Hi Davo,
Totally agree, my point was what looked tight initially was really papering over the cracks. Defence isn't sorted, midfield isn't certain or very creative, forwards aren't firing (albeit without much service) so all in all i'm afraid we're closer to more problems than solutions.
The glimmer of hope in all this is that we are still there or thereabouts and there is still big potential for new players to find their feet in England and in a team together - not sure AVB is the man though. I'm not in the AVB out camp but i'm not in the blind-optimism, let's get behind him no matter what party either.

I've been a believer but I think time is ticking for AVB now
Making 3/4 changes to every line up would affect any team.
It's bad enough not knowing your best 11 but I don't think he knows our first 8 names.
3 defensive mf's last night was baffling. I know he wanted paulinho further forward but why try that now for the first time in a must win match?
Every defeat we have now, he will be shot to pieces by the press and fans.
He is not helping himself in my opinion.

AVB, what are you doing! 3 defensive midfielders!! Dawson!! Defoe!! This is getting f*****g worse!

Big mistake imo dropping Soldado for Defoe.

Help me out lads, yesterday on spursofficial twitter account they said that 18 players had played for us and Fulham since the premiership started, not necessarily direct transfers from each other. Name them please because they didn't tell us who!
I can think of Parker, Berbatov, Dembele, Kelly, Simon Davies, Malbranque, Dempsey and Sean Davies but that's it. Thought I eould get more than that but can't think of them!
The king of shooting into row Z.
That's Zamora!
Also, Adel Taarabt is still technically a Fulham player. on loan to QPR!
Oh.
And Darren Bent :D.
That's all I can think of! Zamora, Bent and Taarabt!
Can't heleive I didn't get Zamora and co. Who are the other 7? Come on I bet someone knows, The Oracle maybe! Lol
Danny Murphy
{Ed007's Note - Louis Saha and Eidur Gudjohnsen.}
Konchesky
Stephen Kelly
Stalteri, Routledge, Michel Brown & Keller
So it's 19 names noted above then?
{Ed007's Note - Here is the list in full Simmo:
Dimitar Berbatov, Darren Bent, Michael Brown, Sean Davis, Clint Dempsey, Kasey Keller, Stephen Kelly, Danny Murphy, Scott Parker, Wayne Routledge, Louis Saha, Paul Stalteri, Adel Taarabt, Bobby Zamora, Simon Davies, Eidur Gudjohnsen, Paul Konchesky, Steed Malbranque and Mousa Dembele.
Thanks for that lads, ed007.
{Ed007's Note - You're welcome buddy, no problem. I done a bit of digging about late last night when I was bored and then when I had about 14/15 I found a site with the full list! So I kicked the cat and went to bed.}
P.S. No animals were harmed during the making of the list or my post :)

Cheeky January bid for Berbatov?
I know he wants to leave Fulham, but do you think the Spurs board + fans would want him back? I'd personally take him back.
All he needs is decent players around him and he'll score.
But I guess quite a few Spurs fans will still be smiting in regards to how he left us for Man Utd.
Had this thought aswell so thought about it this afternoon and IMO it's a no. You say with good players around him he'll do well, he had good players around him at United and wasn't nothing special IMO. At 32 aswell seems like a last minute levy buy to me. All that said if he arrived back at the lane I'd welcome him and be happy with him in the squad for 6 months.
Please check my posts from over a year ago on Berbs. At £5m he was a steal and I'm certain would've been the difference for us with the 2pts we needed for Champions League. Too late now I'm afraid.

Crafty Cockney
It was me that started this thread.
I don't want to under-sell our players. We undoubtedly have a good squad, but it is weakest in the area it needs to be strongest - in creating and scoring goals. That is partly a problem of tactics but is also about the individual players.
We made a good start to the season by not conceding goals and scraping the points in low- scoring games, but this is a high risk strategy. If you are not really making chances and not scoring when you do, eventually your luck will run out and points will start to slip away. When that happens, even the tight defence starts to leak goals. That is what has happened to us.
To win games consistently you have to have players who can score goals regularly, so being exceptionally strong in this area more than compensates for weaknesses elsewhere in the squad.
For example, the current United squad looks to be their weakest in many years, but it still includes Rooney, Van Persie and Hernandez. They can all turn pressure into goals and dig you out of a hole when you are struggling.
We have Soldado, Defoe and Adebayor. Need I say more.
It is the same if I look at Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool. All create more clear-cut chances and all have natural goal scorers that do score regularly.
In this crucial respect they all have stronger squads than us.
KM
I disagree mate. We have the players but are underperforming, partly due to the tactics. I agree that we need another striker and obviously a left back but our squad is very strong.
Liverpool without Suarez and Sturridge would be bang in trouble there midfield is crying out for creativity. Time will tell.
