Unless real put money on the table no bale deal apparently they have been playing poker with the wrong man and have no money lots of media and pundits could have egg on thier face, real thought price would drop if bale pushed for move and they arrongantly thought levy would buckle levy wants 100 million and paid on his terms and so should it be. this might be the rabbit out of the hat but not bothered if he goes if he does hope levy makes them sweat till last minute and bankrupts Madrid by taking all there spondoulees. Levy for a knighthood .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bobbybox,

Sorry mate but Bale is as good as gone, only thing Levy is waiting for is to announce it 10 mins before deadline closes, so that ARSEnal cann't strenghten their squad by signing any RM players.

With Kaka coming out saying he wants to leave Madrid, how about cash plus Kaka for Bale and final settlement for Modric? {Ed008's Note - I don't think that's a very wise option he's 31yrs old well past his best injury prone high wages need I go on?

Everton supporter here.

I remember a few years ago us blues where thinking we were on a level playing field with yourselves, and it was between Tottenham, Gunners, Everton and the Red people over the park pushing for fourth.

Well boys, looks like that's changed!

Well done on capitalising on the Bale sale. Ridiculous squad now.

Do us a favour though. loan us Holtby? Surely won't be getting that many games now?

Hopeful blue!

Molly888

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think a loan would be a good move for all involved. What a quality player he is but agree opportunities may be limited so why waste him on our bench.

I'll just text Levy for you lol.

Thanks
Wasy {Ed025's Note - hi wasy, the spurs ed is unavailable mate, but he thinks he is surplus to requirement, and that his home page still has an everton crest on...so why not..

seeing reports that, according to de Boer, Eriksen is a done deal, had his medical this afternoon and is expected to be in the squad on sunday.

Also like how Theo (reckon they are still stronger) and bambi (another 5-2 will be good) have done our teamtalk for sunday

what a fantastic transfer window if we complete these 3 in the next 24 hours, and I do agree that I believe there will be a rabbit pulled b4 11.00pm monday just dunno who.

Was watching the champ league draw and after pot 2 was thinking our neighbours were lucky again. than at the end of the draw I went on a betting site and saw that they had gone out to 40/1 to win it.those of you who don't do betting if you put £10 on you win 0.

us getting amazing players this summer and arsenal getting the worst group in champions league. life is good boys, life is good.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Amazing players a load of kids more like a real man will welcome them on sunday mr flamini ouch.

Agree0 Disagree0

But I would sooner have our well known south american star who is already a full international than an inknown french player any day

Agree0 Disagree0

Should flamini strut around thinking he's the main man, sandro will remind him of the real pecking order.

Agree0 Disagree0

Trust me I heard him and capoue are skipping breakfast to save their appitite for wilshere and flamini

Heard that Lamela and Chiriches are to be unveiled at the lane tonight, will make it a much more interesting game then!

COYS

Does anyone think Lamela could feature on the bench on sunday or Erikson if he signs tomorrow?

Daniel Levy and Baldini have amazing work this year and I love the fact they have left the sale of bale to the very last minute. if it is going to happen?

i think I might be the only spurs that has a slight impulse that he Isn't going anywhere!

I might just be deluded and dreaming or still a little drunk but will he start against arsenal on sunday?

If anything. a last performance?

How Awesome would that be?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

For your bank balance a catastrophy hope flamini causes a lot of damage sunday and I don't mean with the ball.

Agree0 Disagree0

And that is why people don't like most arsenal fans. Hoping that another teams players get injured. I suppose you have to think of some way to win and if you can't do it fairly.

Dom {Ed008's Note - I let him have his 5 mins of fame...

Agree0 Disagree0

I remember the ramsey leg break tackle a couple of years ago
and the outrage from arsenal.
you'd do well to remember the incident before condoning similar treatment to spurs players.

and enjoy your chumps league, while it lasts,
b/s

Agree0 Disagree0

Im a gooner and I don't care who the player is or what team he plays for, wishing injury on someone is just sick. football can do without fans like you.

Agree0 Disagree0

And Belly, that's why some people like some Arsenal fans. Thanks,

were set to complete lamela today and eriksen tomorrow.

Just think:

gk: Lloris

df: walker kaboul/chariches vertonghen rose

md: paulinho sandro/capoue

st: lamela soldado townsend
if that's not a top 3 contender I don't know what is.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You're missing one there- perhaps Eriksen!

Agree0 Disagree0

And lennon why do fans hate lennon so much screw you all, show him some respect, we one against crystal palace becasue of him {Ed008's Note - Because he crossed the ball for Moxey to handball? I'm pretty sure Soldado scored the pen..

Agree0 Disagree0

Think what he means is that even with 10 men we're almost certain to get top 3

I really hope the rumours of chicarito aren't true! don't rate the guy at all think defoe can do a better job. But regardless if lemela and erikson both come good I am 1 happy customer! Thank you Mr.Levy! What a window and best of luck to GB. We are on the up and I think we profit massively from his sale with our squad! Capoue looks immense! COYS!

Just seen the seeding for Champions League draw. Nothing to do with spurs but I don't like to see the gooners get an easy ride.
They just about made it into the top 4and crashed out of the early stages of the Champions League last year. They get seeded in pot 1.
Borussia Dortmund on the other hand finished second in the Bundesliga and were worthy finalists in last years Champions League. They are in pot 3. Work that one out.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its not based on last season but on a consistant basis. They have been in the champions league every year for the last 12 or so years if not more. Dortmund have not. They have been in semi finals and finals. They should be in pot 1.

Agree0 Disagree0

It all depends on recent years qualifying.
They have made it 16 years on the bounce which gives them a high seed.
It's another outcome of them pipping us for top 4. A season or 2 in the Europa league also knocks their seeding in future CL competitions.
We could win the league or finish 2nd and we would still be seeded 3 or 4.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to arsenal end up with a group with psg borissua dortmund and maybe napoli, they would struggle to get 3rd in that group

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed its a joke. should be all names in a hat FA Cup style.

if Barca, Munich, Real Juve get drawn together so be it. {Ed008's Note - Personally I think all Champions of their leagues should be in pot1 and pot2 then in order of coefficent.

Eriksen has been courted for years by Europe's 'top clubs' yet nobody has committed to signing him. My guess is, he's not THAT good. Spurs fans, knock yourselves out.

So you are a better expert then overmaars, de boer, baldini, avb and most of europes top coaches? Wot exactly do you do for a living? You must be a secret member of footballs top brass.
Maybe, just maybe, he hasn't found the club he would like just yet. Maybe he has now, maybe he hasn't. He ain't joined yet but one thing is for sure, you absolutely stink of jealousy. Your comment is founded on nothing more than shear envy. My guess is that you are probably a gooner. Actually, with that name, you are a loserpool fan sickened by the fact they couldn't sign him after trying for 2 years. Spurs are building a powerfull squad. If we click, we are going to worry a lot of teams.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers tomo we will

Agree0 Disagree0

Tomo, I'm happily knocking myself out over all our signings.
My guess is that you aren't over your teams signings.
Chin up fella, it ain't all that bad.
It's only football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep, Arsenal supporter here. I honestly congratulate you on all your signings. You must all be over the moon. If there was a title for the biggest spenders of the window you would no doubt be champions, sadly though, there is not. The real action starts on the pitch and I'm looking forward to an absolute blinder on Sunday.

Cheers, Tomo

Agree0 Disagree0

Tomo, you know how your season will go,
Bad first match, couple of victory s, hopefully a loss against us, bad injuries and a run of bad form, the Arse sacked by Xmas, buy 7 new players in January, a run of form and pip Man sh***y for fourth, you usual expectations!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 08:38:26
Arsenal fan in peace - and possibly begging for mercy on Sunday. Also hoping to be able to engage in rational debate rather than the usual Arsenal - Spurs slinging matches.

Your squad is what is impressive. Your first XI is great, not City or Chelsea great if we can all be honest, but great nonetheless. However what is going to make this season interesting is that you have excellent depth in most areas. My only question is over what happens if Soldado gets injured?

Personally, and I know for a fact you won't agree, I still believe man for man our first XI can match yours. What will get you ahead of us will be if you use your squad well because we don't have a squad.

Looking forward to a cracker on Sunday.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mhc, I always like to banter with you guys at whichever level, but I prefer to be sensible. I disagree on the first eleven because you have no dcm and I think you struggle a little with your cb's per can be a spectator on occasion. there is no comparison on goalkeepers, left and right backs are of similar ilk. so apart from them the rest could be debated but as you say not a million miles of difference between our first eleven. I think the difference between the clubs now is the depth of squad and the quality we can bring in in the event of injury. defoe is more than adequate cover for soldado with lamela able to play up front as well erikson also scores for fun. league positions generally are a result of squad rotation with all the games being played in one season so who has the best first team really isn't relevant as you can't pick your fist team now because of injuries and suspensions. we have bought sensibily for area's we needed to improve and as important get back up for. chadli and chriches are cover for the event of injuries they were not bought in as first teamers but what fantastic cover they will offer throw into the mix the motivation and tactical nous of avb and we are starting to look the finished article. afer a couple of seasons of giving you a scare I beleive it is time now to finish above you and at the very least claim a champ league spot

Agree0 Disagree0

A big difference is mentality and getting the job done. I think our best XI has edged yours for a year or two but we've had nothing beyond 13-14 players. However, when it comes down to it they've blown controlling positions against you away from home twice and botched up healthy points leads. The table doesn't lie and you've still pipped us twice. That's credit to you lot and poor from us. We look far better equipped now but, still don't actually have one or two signings finalised yet and have to do the business for 38games (and probably 12-14 cup games). Form book out of the window Sunday so nerves all round. Best wishes.
Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes Dave - my point is not that our first XI is better than yours - I just think there is very little difference. People like to slate the Arsenal defence and yet forget we had the second best defensive record in the league last year.

It all depends on what (if anything) Arsenal do over the next 5 days. If we get 3 or 4 top players (doubtful I know) it is going to be a very exciting season for the rivalry.

Btw I have said this many times in other places but the single best signing of the window of any team was Baldini.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mhc, good point about your defence last year and what a run in you had beating us from two down must have been memorable for you, it would have been for me. as the post above says you guys have a winning mentality and that is down to venga I believe avb will instill some of this in us. the next coup[le od seasons could be very interesting as I think man u will slip up so we may even both get champs league. I would prefer you there than chelsea as I think you run your club the right way (and I don't like mourinho) I won't say I hope you make some signings as I honestly don't want you to. I enjoy talking to sensible gooners we are big, big rivals but let's not get all liverpool v man u on each other because there is no need for that kinf of hate. I am sure if you beat us on sunday this will not be the most welcoming place to be but please pop in again once the dust has settled after sunday, unless we win then please come on sunday night. cheers for now and speak again

derbyshaire dave

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree soldado might be an issue if injured but, my opinion only, we are still looking at that position before the window ends.
Someone, I think, will come in. It may be a chicorito, or a BA (knees permitting) but my guess is, (dare I say it) we may just go back in for damaio.
I know lamela can fill that role but I do think a striker is being hunted as we speak.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 12:14:16
Okay corect me if you think the teams need adjusted(best regardless of injury) atm but :
Spurs Arsenal. Best x11
Lloris. Schnezy. Lloris
Rose. Monreal. Monreal
Vert Kosc. Vert
Kaboul Mert. Kosc
Walker Sagna. Walker
Sandro. Arteta. Paulinho
Paulinho. Ramsey. Whilshire
Dembele. Whilshire. Dembele
Chadli. Podolski. Podolski
Soldado. Giroud. Soldado
Lennon. Walcott. Walcott

I make it out to still be a very tight contest with spurs still edging itstill. Our spurs bench is still stronger. Once we sign lamela and eriksen our squad and first 11will be a lot better. IMO arsenal really need a good keeper, strong cm(fabregas?) And a player to come in upfront whos a bit of a cross between walcotts pace and touch combined girouds strength.

Agree0 Disagree0

My team would be
Lloris - no explanation needed
Sagna - sorry he is still better than Walker
Vertonghen - best cb of the bunch
Koscielney - second best cb of the bunch
Gibbs/Monreal - both better than Spurs
Sandro - I love Ramsey's form but Sandro is class
Wilshere - No comment needed
Cazorla - if you are trying to claim Dembele is better you need head checking matey
Walcott - better than Lennon
Soldado - better than Giroud probably
Podolski - assuming Bale is gone best option (soon to be Lamela)

As I said the first XI are much of a muchness. Where you have the potential to nick it this year is your bench. {Ed008's Note - Paulinho?

Agree0 Disagree0

Waiting to see what he does in the PL Ed. Don't think he gets in ahead of Wilshere or Cazorla anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mhc, good banter buddy and I agree very close run thing. I will say that wishere and cazorla are two brilliant trcky mids I hope erikson and lamela will be as well. all in all we have got great teams and will be looking to push the mancs and chavski very evry hard so good lck(not sunday) and please keep dropping in for updates on form

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 19:31:32
I think a key area could be lloris for us. He can save us games wheras your keeper can cost you games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kaboul at his best is much better than Koscielny
Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

Kaboul is in no way better than kos simmo. I think if spurs fans pick the best team it'll be 6 spurs players in it and 6 arsenal players if we picked ours. you's have the better squad now, we have the winning mentality of being there and done it. think this could be a great contest between us this season. really looking forward to it and hopefully some good banter with you guys. all the best.

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely picking a best XI between us and ARSEnal is dependant on what formation you would play if you played 4-2-3-1

My team would be:-

Lloris,
Gibbs, Vert, Kosc, Walker
Sandro Paulinho
Walcott, Dembele, Cazorla
Soldado

Whereas if your going to play a basic 4-4-2 my team would be

Lloris,
Walker, Vert, Kosc, Gibbs
Walcott, Sandro, Wilshere, Cazorla
Soldado Giroud.

I think the formation you play will depend on what players you pick as some players offer more than other in certain positions, like wilshere fantastic in center mid but IMO doesn't offer as much if deployed as a defensive Mid or in behind a main striker

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 07:20:55
I have all my fingers crossed that the latest round of rumours are all true. Llamela will be great signing, but Eriksen would be amazing as we would be around £20m better off than buying Willian and would have a younger more talented player in my book, so win all round. Good riddance Will.i.an stick to making music you money grabbing tw*t!

COYS

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Even if they are all available I doubt they would all start, wouldn't make a great deal of sense.

Where is the Oracle? Been quiet and a lot less argumentative without him and his Damiao stories. {Ed001's Note - I am just thankful that even spending all this money hasn't seen Damiao arrive! I don't think I could have coped with his 'I told you so' posts after.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I was kinda looking forward to walking down the road from my house to watch Damiao play at the Olympic Stadium

Agree0 Disagree0

I was driving my black cab past the Olympic stadium last night. I'm sure I see oracle slumped on the steps crying and holding a picture of damaio lol.
Funny though, the first window in 6 that he hasn't been on here harping on about him and it wouldn't surprise me if it happened.

Signing of the season - Baldini?

Eds what do you reckon {Ed001's Note - for Spurs defo, though I am thinking Medel might turn out to be the best signing of the summer. I think he will turn out to be the difference between Cardiff sinking without trace in the Prem or surviving.}

Signing of the season - Baldini?

Am I RIGHT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Unless it doesn't work and you will be another Leeds lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol yes good point, apart from we have the cash to be able to pay these guys even if we don't make champions league, also we are not talking astronomical wages as we have a wage cap at our place (levy) as our chairman is a very astute forward thinking business man first and a spurs fan second. but hey thanks for the advise, if only you had left your name we could have thanked you in person

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2013 23:53:50
Lloris

Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Coentrao

Paulinho Dembele

Lamela Eriksen Chadli

Soldado

Bench:
Freidel
Knaughton
Dawson
Sandro
Lennon
Holtby
Hernandez

Others:
Rose
Chicares
Fryers
Capoue
Carroll
Townsend
To name a few

I would then look to sell perhaps defoe (maybe) adebyor sigurdson(maybe) BAE

Obvs a lot of rotatiom would take place

Could you imagine this squad! Strongest spurs squad I've ever seen

Top 4 would surely be a given depending on arsenals additions

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Aug 2013 02:19:06
Townsend is really staking his claim in the squad and I can see him playing on the left of eriksen and lamela. This would see him playing all over that 3 in an mobile squad. All though avb likes his signings better than players already in the squad ie sandros place in the team?
