You can hardly blame Tottenham for losing. They were without their best player in Ryan Nelsen. Nelsen was the glue that held Tottenham together. Without his world class defending we were shown just how much of an overrated person Scott Parker is. And without Nelsen's ability to come forward, Tottenham's goal threat was severely damaged. Nelsen is without a doubt the greatest defender ever to play an Der Vaart)the Beautiful game in a Tottenham side with only one other decent player (Van Der Vaart) Spurs many weak links were exposed. This Wednesday Nelsen will be playing against Jamaica on international duty and if he picks up a injury there I guarantee you Tottenham will not get another point this season.

I only mention this because
Also the average scoreline for spurs when Nelsen plays is a 5-0 win. However the average scoreline in league matches he doen't play since his debut is a 5-2 loss. That is an 8 goal aggregate. Meaning that when Nelsen doesn't play for Spurs they lose eight goals. Even Messi doesn't score 8 goals a match for Barcelona....
Technically speaking I'm correct and nobody can debate this fact

Agree5 Disagree0

It may be fact right now but your entire argument is based on 2 games? surely you can see a need for more games to have a realistic answer. If we won our first two games (utd and city), does that mean we will win the league undefeated because of "recent history", and beating the top two teams in england? could we claim we are undef eatable? answer is no, even if the "facts" say otherwise.... just saying

Really never seen it so quiet on here.
Incase you didn't realise, we
Can still have a strong season, starting by
Kicking ass against Utd.

Rite us off at your peril.
Obviously it was a dissapointing performance
Last weekend.
Lets get behind the boys
Every weekend and we can
Definately finish third.

NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER DESERT!

I think to go into the game believing we have a good chance against united is stupid. However, I reckon we can win. We've just had 2 poor results, the players will want to prove themselves.

Agree0 Disagree1

For gods sake , we should go into every game believing we can win , because on our day we are as good as anyone in the premiership . One match doesnt make a season , as the goners will find out when the dumb scouse beat them . We are still well clear in third , get behind our boys or piss off to another page !!

It pretty quiet as there's no need for a ridiculous over reaction to 1 very bad performance, we are 3rd 7 points clear remember, only 6 more wins in the last 12 games will pretty much guarantee 3rd.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mo .... How would 6 wins in the last 12 almost garuntee us 3rd ? The way I see it .... Truly and honestly .... We will struggle to beat man u .... And Chelsea .... Everton will prove difficult .... But after they ?
It's should * touch wood * be pretty nice average team to play ending .... So should end the season on a good run as well with maybe a little blip over the next 2-3 games ....

Agree0 Disagree0

United fan here and im thinking how can you all be so pessimistic? i really believe use have a good chance of winning tomorrow. lets just all hope it turns out to be a fantastic game and no controvesy to overshadow it.

The positive out of that result is Wenger will probably think Arsenal are good enough and still doesn't need to buy anybody.

They are better the yee spuds

Talk about getting carried away, you beat us on your own patch with a great comeback but lets have it right, you wont get anywhere by raising your game just for the big matches....."we can catch tottenham", whats next, we will beat milan by 5? dreamers.......

Actually, the opening post is spot on!
the arses might actually think that their current squad is good enough and reign in the cheque book again.
it took the game against us for them to realise they must raise their game, which is a massive compliment to us.
their problem now is maintaining that level against other sides, something they have failed to do most of the season.
