Another shambolic transfer window from Mr Levy and Co! For god sake if we want Berahino just pay the asking price for him. To read reports today that we are looking to save 3 million quid and buy a South Korean playing in Germany just leaves me shaking my head! How much is qualification to the Champions League worth these days? Speculate to accumulate comes to mind and to leave it so late in the window again to recruit beggars belief.

{Ed001's Note - Son is twice the player Berahino will ever be! If you get him I will cry as he was my ideal signing for Liverpool this summer.}

Surrey, Son would be much better for us than Berahino. I'm baffled as to why Son is a back up to Berahino transfer it should of been the over way round. Maybe we will get both.

Apparently Son and Wanyama both have infections, keeping them out of their squads tonight!

It annoys me that some Spurs fans come on this complaining about signing players from other leagues because they have never heard of them. I would take Son in a heartbeat. Do some research SurreySpur before you come on here whinging!!

{Ed001's Note - he was by far and away the best and most effective player in the recent Asian Nations tournament and has starred for Leverkusen. Liverpool wanted him rather than Firmino. Son is class.}

You seem to have missed the point of my post Clankers! Forget research on potential incoming players. Did that in the past with Soldado and Lamela plus Capoue and Chicheres and YouTube clips and the odd game on BT sport made them all look like the second coming! If we get Son I ll bet you that Berahino will score more goals playing for a mediocre West Brom side.

Nothing changes the fact that we have been an absolute joke in the transfer market with a chairman who's penny pinching attitude will hold us back! If you believe anything else then you are sadly deluded! Do some research on the last 5 seasons net transfer spend and see what Enics priorities are Clankers!

Surreyspur, would you pay more for something than you believe it's worth? Is it penny pinching or is it just sensible?

Surrey, Son isn't a main striker like Berahino though. If I could of handpicked a wing forward type player from any team Son would be right up there. He may flop but I'm extremely happy we are in for him.

Spurs1985 I would pay above the going rate if I believed the eventual returns and benefits would be worth it! At this point in time the top 4 clubs and Liverpool are heavily investing in pursuit of the Champions league and the riches on offer and we just are not competing on the same level. I'm not asking for Ronaldo or Messi but if we are quibbling over £3 million quid to get the Berahino deal done then God help us! If Berahino improved at his current rate for us over the next 2 seasons then he would be worth well over £25 million anyway and we know Levy would then sell as eventually he does with all our best players!

If it's "only" 3 million quid why don't you donate the money to the club on the understanding they use it to purchase the player?
Every signing is a gamble and it could end up going the other way a la Lamela. I don't believe for a second you would pay 300k for a house worth 100k in the hope one day it pays off? Be honest, would you? Buying Berahinio will not guarantee champions league so it still becomes a risk. That said I believe we will try one last time for him.

Eds,

Lots of news linking us to Son Heung-Min. Any truth in these? I certainly hope so IMO a very talented player.

Much better option than Bolasie.

They might as well start, the tiniest chance of top 4 has gone now. Lennon's a strange situation, why has Poch got the hump with him? Overall you would have Lennon ahead of Townsend and Lamela all day. Montero, Wanyama/Illarramendi, Mahrez and Chicharito would be an acceptable transfer window, other than the lateness.

always liked lennon . and townsend for that matter but they both have the same issue . blinding pace , exciting but they run into cul de sacs and neither has a final ball . levy has stuffed our manager once again , if you are going to penny pinch do it early on , everyone knows levys games now and I'm sure more an more clubs simply don't like doing business with spurs . illaramendi / mahrez / chicharito would be nice . at the end of my wits , everyday hoping and nothing .how many times have spurs needed 2 players to challenge and levy shuts up shop . thank you for your business acumen Daniel and the stadium . now will you please just sell .

Lennon won't play for the club again. Apparently he complained about the training under Poch which did not go down well.

The tv money has changed everything and Daniel's transfer policy has had it's time. Clubs like WBA are not going to be held over a barrel by the likes of Levy any more. WBA hold all the cards with Berahino, they can charge what they want and they don't have to sell. A top manager like Kloop or Ancelotti just would not work under these conditions and that's why we won't ever have a top manager, only yes men. Poch should offer some sought of olive branch and show how good his coaching skills are by being the one who teaches Lennon what to do when in these positions.

The main reason for getting rid of Lennon is his lifestyle. He is constantly going out clubbing and getting drunk with his chav wannabe rudeboy mates, turning up for training late and playing crap. He is full of attitude and was one of the players who ganged up with Kaboul and Adebayor. Lennon has himself to blame, good riddance.
