hey eds, do you know if lamela is keen on a switch to spurs, haven't heard anything of the sort as of yet, thanks! {Ed008's Note - I cannot say if the player is keen on the switch only Lamela knows that but Spurs are a better team then Roma so he would be improving himself.

hi I am a sunderland fan just would like to now what you lot think our chances of getting defoe and danny rose are? {Ed008's Note - Rose all depends if Coentrao is brought in I would think I don't think Rose will leave personally, Defoe if AVB gets a good offer for him he could be sold but I don't think so.

So. hearing a couple of clubs are now after Bale?

I personally believe this is all trollop! I think this has only been manufactured because certain companies want people to have a little flutter with betting on Bale's club this season.

Let's look at who else could afford Bale.

Monaco - Currently under investigation for their no income tax laws. I can't see them spending more money on Bale as they already have spent so much on Rodriguez, Romero, Moutinho and Falcao to name a few! Totalling £128m.

PSG - Spent a ton of money on Cavani, Marquinhos and Digne totalling £97m. Can't see them buying Bale.

Man Utd & Man City - I simply cannot believe that Levy will sell Bale to another PL team. He has learnt his lesson from the Berbatov deal a few years back. He resisted selling Modric to Chelsea for £10m more than what we sold him for to Madrid. Even if United offer Rooney + cash, I really cannot see Levy doing business with them again with our best player.

Barcelona - not interested in Bale since signing Neymar. No more comments needed.

Bayern Munich - No interest in Bale. They have Robben & Ribery. As well as signing Goetze and having Muller and Kroos.

SO.

This only leaves Real Madrid! I'm still on the fence as to whether he is actually leaving or whether everything is being taken WAY out of proportion due to the size of the transfer. The only thing left raising my eyebrow is the fact that neither Bale nor Spurs have mentioned anything specific about the whole deal. They're both beating around the bush.

Real have been aggressively after Bale all summer. summoning their entire team to comment on Bale and using Zidane and Raul to get their opinion across. I can't see how this would please Levy + Joe Lewis. However, in this day in age money talks. And if they're going to offer silly money, we should take it.

THE only stumbling block I can see is the matter of payments and how much the transfer fee will be. Real keep on delaying and not offering the money we want for OUR player and not agreeing to the instalments WE request for OUR player. If Real simply do not want to adhere to our requests, then they need to do one.

There is still a chance Bale could be a Tottenham player this season. It just all depends on how much longer Madrid are going to muck around for. If they simply do not have the finances to make the deal this window under our terms, they should simply back down and admit that their pursuit is over for the time being.

Thoughts? {Ed008's Note - I wouldn't rule out Bayern but I think he'll end up at Real Madrid anyways.

Hi Ed, obviously there would be interest in Bale from more than just Real Madrid but is there any truth to the stories circulating today about Spurs considering another offer? And if so, do you know who it is?

Thanks. {Ed002's Note - I can only say that I am not aware of another bid, but if there has been I could only guess at who it might be from.}

Being reported on the website ABola.pt that arsenal are offering €43m for Lamela. Really hope this isn't true.!

Despite all the rumours etc. I feel we have had the best start to the season for the past few years and if we build on this momentum we won't be far away this year!

Whoa! Significant developments in the Bale transfer saga.

tv are now reporting that there is more than one interested suitor in the Welsh flyer. Could this de-rail Real Madrid's arrogant pursuit of Bale, or is this just another smokescreen from Levy & Co to eke out every last drop of cash from Perez's grimy little fingers?

If it is legitimate, it can really only be a handful of the usual suspects - PSG, Monaco, Man United or City - and you would have to think that for them to enter the fray at this late stage, they would have to be offering something in the region of £120m to usurp the (alleged) Madrid bid.

On the one hand, if it is indeed true, IMO that would strengthen Levy's position no end, and may even encourage him to go back to Madrid to insist upon the inclusion of the likes of Morata to sweeten the current deal, or else we will go elsewhere. Might put us in a great situation.

However, and my personal feeling is that it is what I suggested above, that it is all just a smokescreen to panic Real into upping the offer. Unfortunately, player power in football, or should I say soccer, is different to say, the US sports, where if a player is traded, his ownership rights are transferred to the successful team. Bale could quite simply put the kibosh on any potential rival deal by refusing to sign on the dotted line, and you can be sure that Madrid would be having a less than subtle word in his ear if such an eventuality came to fruition.

But we will see, and one way or another, the situation will have to be resolved. No matter which way it goes, Spurs will have benefitted to the tune of at least £85m. A staggering amount of money and a phenomenal return on the original £6m we paid for Bale. How Southampton must rue taking Levy's £2m to quash that sell-on clause. Ouch!

As for the final touches to our own window, my personal favourites would be to see Ericksen, Alderweireld and Lamela into the Lilywhite fold. Do your stuff Levy, Baldini and AVB! You've played a masterful game of transfer poker so far. One more week of no blinking at the table and we could seriously be set.

To the post who suggested abstinence on my part, you could be right. However, the rumours on the go today would seem to suggest that I wasn't far off the mark, with Spurs allegedly demanding £125m to sell Bale to United. Keep the faith friend and put it down as poetic license on my part. Which actually wasn't far off. BigBird72 COYS

Levy playing hardball again over the bale deal, I hope he squeezes every last million out of real madrid

I think it's becoming apparent that Perez wants bale to please the Madrid faithful but they just haven't got the money.
This is a win win situation for levy and he knows it.
We either keep bale and levy is a hero for fighting off Madrid and 'sticking to his guns that bale was never for sale'
Or we get a nice bidding war and get stupid money for bale.
For all the people out there who dislike levy and his regime, one thing is for sure, he knows how to do business for tottenham hotspur fc.
Well played daniel levy, I salute you.
