If you read the interview he says that the ass want him too but he also says he will see out his contract if he has too. He is being clever and trying to force us and Ajax to do the deal he really wants spurs and is now subtly testing Ajax by threatening to leave for nothing next year.
The only way we won't sign him, is if DL runs out of patience and pulls out.
Which I think he will happily do to save a fiver.

Really getting annoyed with DL - why not just pay the price for a proven defender in Vertonghen! Has he not learn't anything from penny pinching. It's still a good deal as good defenders are so hard to come by

I thought we had a decent transfer kitty without selling the hang ons ! If we cant afford 12.5 mill for a defender of Verts class , then we might as well compete with the likes of reading , qpr etc for the driftwood !
