so just throwing this out there but we should seriously look at some of these players going for pennies.
teves -£10million (tell me who wouldn't have him for £15million)
micah Richards - would be a great signing for rb/cb/lb cover if no first team.
tom ince - is going for pennies and is going to be a more efficient lennon he can score and assist and plays on both wings.

and in all honesty negredo will be cheap with there money problems soldado is achievable, villa is only 10 million. please do not get benteke he 'could' be amazing but not for 20 million plus i'd take him at 15 mill or less.

Tevez will cost over £10M a year in wages - can't call that pennies!

Hi guys.

There's quite a few rumours circulating across a number of websites about Sevilla having received two concrete offers from one Spanish and one 'foreign' club for Alvaro Negredo.

In my opinion, he's a good player and think he would fit our style of play, but are we the ones in for him, I wonder. ? Fingers crossed, although he is said to want Champions League.

An all Spanish hitman pairing of Negredo and Soldado from Valencia - who we've also been credited with an interest in - would be deadly IMO, and certainly both have established pedigree in a top European league. unlike a certain Brazilian we are sick and tired hearing about! Oh, and that genetically modified revamp of Emile Heskey from Villa. Please, please, please stay away from Benteke. If we want to revert to Stoke, kick and chase style, great. If we want to play football, please leave well alone. !

Anyway, here's hoping we can get at least one of the Spanish lads in along with Paulinho and possibly Luke Shaw in at LB. (While we're on the subject, please, please Mr. Baldini, can you get rid of Naughton? He's like a reincarnation of Jermain Jenas, and look how long that took us to wash our hands of him. !)

Finally, the only other wish on my dream transfer list would be either Christian Eriksen or Bernard, but whilst I like what I've seen in the glimpses he's shown in the Confed Cup, Bernard would be cut in half in the EPL.

He weighs less than a sponge and whilst Eriksen isn't much bigger, the latter is surely going to come a little cheaper - given his contract predicament - and is also a little more used to the rigours of European football. Again, either would be a great win for us. (I like the look of Wigan's James McCarthy, but just not at the ridiculous prices being quoted at present!)

So, with that, here's hoping to a productive few weeks, Messrs Levy, Baldini and Vilas-Boas. ! You have your orders.

Nah the foriegn club was west ham before they bought carroll apparently

Agree0 Disagree0

Eriksen? We've just signed Paulinho. Eriksen may be a good player but any move for a another midfielder is very very very unlikely.

Realistically and I repeat "realistically" we will sign one striker to add to Defoe and Adebayor or Defoe and Dempsey.

Gabriel.

You've just signed Paulinho? LoL
He is off to Inter. He is using the spuds to get more $

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow we've got someone itk here (post above). So if he's off to Inter how come the only serious interest is from spurs? What are they waiting for? Him to be in a spurs shirt? Worrying about spurs already and the season hasn't even started.

Agree0 Disagree0

And you my friend need to get off to school to get more brains. {Ed008's Note - Study shows if you eat plenty of fish you get more "brains" so your arguement is wrong..

And you need to get your head out from where the sun don't shine! Shaun Maloney along side Jelavic is our nr. 1 targets to replace Bale. Jelavic will be a bargain! Only £ 31 million.

Probabably a scouser?

Spuds eat gooner boob? Are you saying your wives are cheating on you with spurs fans?

Not sure you thought your name through there mate.

Bale to stay. Ade to go and spurs to get 2 forwards (negredo and soldado would be my preferred choices).

Why should we even consider selling Bale to RM when there most probaly selling Higuan to Arsenal

So much for this 'partnership', if this partnership is true then surely it must be our turn to take on of there players if this agreement is fair (as we took VDV then they took Modric) so why do they believe its there right to have Bale?!

Its a joke tbh, especially the way they are constantly putting pressure on spurs, the player mostly, and nerving the spurs fans.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Last times looked bale was still a spurs player.
Madrid have a bid accepted for Isco, doesn't that tell you something?
Madrid will sign Isco and Suarez.

We can bid for higuain instead of the arsenal. The BIG thing is will mr levy pay the reported £22mil?
Mr g

Agree0 Disagree0

Madrid will not deal with us until they get bale

Agree0 Disagree0

All the 'partnership' enables is that we are notified of any offers for Real M players and visa versa.

Agree0 Disagree0

The deal we have with RM is only to do with training/scouting/advertising etc its nothing to do with player signing/selling, RM will not sell any player to us unless Bale is part of the bid. Higuain would no doubtdly want CL football, which is IMO why we are not after him.

I am also a little concerned by the Paulinho deal as well. If everything we read is true then he is about to sign on the dotted line, however, there are conflicting stories and a friend of mine who regularly works in Brazil has said that noises coming for his club are that a move to Inter Milan is more appealling to the player.

So who are we going to sign? we all have our own wish list and most consist of the same players, however we must remain optimistic and remember that DL is the man who holds the purse, with the likes of Soldaldo, Damiao, Martinez, Beneteke, Negrado and Bernard amongst others all carry hefty price tags and some will want CL football. This means we will more than likely have to settle for 2nd rate players that offer no or little improvement ont the first XI, I can see players in the ilk of McCarthy (Wigan) and a other younger players with potential being signed. Even if Paulinho signs (which is a big if) I'm not sure that this is a signal of intent from DL.

I maybe wrong and I hope to god I am, time will tell. Either way we will always be the mighty Spurs and I will be there every game next season regardless.

Agree0 Disagree0

Players do have a say in where they're going. Higuain wanted Champions League football, Spurs don't have it. RM can't force him to come to Spurs simply because we have a partnership with them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Much like marriage, Real won't put out to us until they get what they want, in this case Bale.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree re the partnership. They agreed to that just to get modric. Now they will only play if it is on their terms.
It's not worth the paper it is wrote on.

why aren't we going for bony. 31 goals in 30 games

Believable0 Unbelievable0

For the same reason we didn't go for Bas Dost last season - they are not good enough

I would love to see mr levy come out and make a bold bid for, yes mr Rooney. 20-30 mil. Time to realise we didn't make top 4 for to years and with the so call top 4 going for top name I thing that is the only way we can mussel in and show our intent to keep our key player and to challenge for the league. Time for mr levy to splash the cash on the key player of key area. A STRKER. His wages you all thinking? Again top players that win you stuff demand top wages, Time to live in a real world. We can't afford him? Of course we can if we want him, he is a brand as well as a player that will generate extra revenue. just think about it! He with bale could actually win us the league And aim once bale to stay for good. with Southampton reported looking at 15 m + strikers and us looking at benteke 20+ paulinho 17m. That's clear indication of money around. The stadium is bleeding money yes I know but is that not levys job to raise funds. Or even seek investors that wants to invest. If we have to 100m for bale now instead of next season will get us at least 3 world class players to actually do damage in the prem. The reason we all get worried about bale moving is because we all know he won't couch op that money on quality replacements.
Dempsey and adi cost us over 15 mil last season that money could have gone towards a Rooney
Mr g

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sorry mr g you can't have "let's make a move for Rooney" and "lets live in the real world" in the same sentence. Your doing a fantasy post so the real world really should not apply. Saying that would love him at the lane.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahhh Mr G, we could bid for Rooney all we like but with no champions league there is just no way he would come. Maybe we could do a straight swap for Dempsey? HA
d00gie

Agree0 Disagree0

The player that we should be going all out for is Mario Gomes, he is available and top class and affordable.
He would fire us to a next level and exactly what we have been crying out for, for years.
This is who we should have already bid for though the bookies are making Fiorentina the favourites.

Marc

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney 5 years ago yes, but Rooney now? I would only go 15 mill for him his best days are behind him.

Agree0 Disagree0

The real world is paying for quality. Buying a player like Rooney is a guarantee 20 goals + instead of paying something like 20mil for a 1 season wonder (benteke) or un proven villa for 10+mil.
Question to all eds and spurs fans.
How do u all see us getting in the cl next season or even winning the league if we dnt buy proven quality.
A mutcu for 2mil comes around every blue moon.
We have the manager I fell that can do it tho
Mr g

Agree0 Disagree0

Mario gomes would not go near spurs. he's just won the champs league. would not even consider joining a team not in that competition next year!

Agree0 Disagree0

Mr g, I agree with what your saying about Benteke, I don't like the idea of signing him as I'm not convinced his of quality, yet! On the same note how can you say if we don't buy proven quality then we won't make cl? I don't really see buying proven quality as a spurs past time (since arrival of Levy). With that said we've still pushed the "top" teams all the way in recent seasons. If Man city didn't get thier investment we would be a top 4 team without going for "big" names. I would love the likes of Rooney as much as the next fan but I prefer the way we do business now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mr G, did Rooney get 20 plus goals last year, not a dig but honest question?

Agree0 Disagree0

And??
Mr g

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney got 12 league goals last season but did not play every game

Agree0 Disagree0

As I said Mr G, it wasn't a dig or comment, it was a question as I don't follow a lot of other teams / players stats as I don't have a lot of spare time, so don't climb on your soapbox! Bit touchy me thinks!

Agree0 Disagree0

Not touchy at all my brother from a different mother. By the time you asked the question on here and waited for the answer. You could have googled it lol

According to tv, negredo wants to leave sevilla - if that's actually the case, would he not be worth a bid? {Ed002's Note - If you are an Atletico Madrid fan you will be happy.}
