Ah, it all makes sense now. Clearly the Oracle has been confusing DAMIAO with DIAME. Easy mistake to make, son ;-)

Stop mentioning the Oracle.

We will all be grateful

Thanks

Now that man united have signed Zaha.... What's your thoughts on Valencia or Nani coming to Spurs?? Just a thought!

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Why would they swap the old Trafford bench for the White Harte Lane bench?

I'd take a punt on Nani, he could play up top with JD as well.

Does anyone else find it funny that we seem to be standing still and haven't been linked with anybody just recently. Whilst Newcastle seem to be snapping anyone with a french passport!

It just seems to be soo quiet at the moment, reminds a little like when we signed Klinsmann, completely out of the blue, after a somewhat quiet period in that transfer window.

I hoping that DL and AVB have something up their sleeves, especially now Coulibaly has gone on loan.

If the following arrive:

Hooper
Holtby
Diame
Fryers

I would consider that a very good January transfer window, particularly if the club manages to shift 2 or 3 players (ie Bentley, Jenas, potentially Huddlestone, Livermore). Transfers would only cost around 16-20m, and outgoing transfers could recoup around 10m.
Holtby, Diame and Fryers would all make great additions, but would be great to see Negredo or Van Wolfswinkel instead of Hooper as I think they are both quality and probably have a better concept of the 'continental' style of formation that AVB will be using than Hooper (ie. a lone striker in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 formation, not 4-4-2)

Sorry Hass but why are we being linked with Hooper ? Good for a mid table team yep but us ! isn't this a bit drastic, are we not capable of signing a proper CF ? Jesus,

No need to apologise, just think you need to re-read the post, Davo......
....and calm down a little too :-)

To summarise, Hooper wouldn't be the end of the world but Negredo/Van Wolfswinkel would be great.
Hope that that's cleared things up.

Ok...

I have a feeling we must have a striker lined up:

Adebeyor (ACON)
Souleymane Coulibaly (Grosseto on loan announced today)
Kane (norwich on loan)

Leaving us defoe and dempsey who is better in the hole..

Surely we would not leave ourselves that thin on striking options

I'm getting a feeling that we are going to sign a striker... AVB wants one and none of his signings for any of his clubs have been failures... we are going to get one he'll of a player soon.. AVB clearly would have highlighted the player he wants and I think levy will support him to get him.. holtby wasn't really publicized for months before we got him was he?

Agree1 Disagree2

Wow the dreamers live on, come next Friday, we will hear once again, we tried really hard but just failed, translated as, levy is a tight arse and couldn't give a s**t about the Spurs supporters as long as he and his mate Joe are ok !!!

Belanda is where we should be looking leave holtby till the summer get on the free. Hooper is he really what we are aiming for.! not convinced he will have the impact we are looking for. We want a lone striker up front who can hold the ball and be a strong player in the box.

AMD

Believable3 Unbelievable2

I disagree (respectfully) I think midfiels isn't as much of a problem as up front. we are so short staffed I say spend all the money on a top class striker. diame would cover and be a good player for us. so any monies we have I would suspect will be spend the monies on a striker.

derbyshire dave well I hope so anyway

Ill bet any1 we won't sign no1 owns because of that no 4th or better finish

Believable0 Unbelievable2

We will finish 4th this year.

Don't just look at Arsenal winning 5-1 against Wet Spam.

You watch.

They're so incosistant. They know it as well.

Season will look like this

1. Man United
2. Chelsea
3. Man City
4. Spurs
5. Arsenal
6. Everton

Agree4 Disagree4

I would not be so sure, we are Dembele injury away from being really stuck and very beatable. We need to add, we lack strength in dept. Our first team when fit is up there with the best but, again, if injuries occur we are in deep and could go and wreck our season. (Sandro we got lucky we had parker)

Agree3 Disagree0

I love how everyone has liverpool written off

youll get fourth, we won't be far behind though

Haven't been linked with him but Newcastle and Norwich are after Ricky Van Wolfswinkel. He's a great forward and could see him fitting into AVB's style better than Ade or Defoe. He's available for around £8m apparently. Bargain...?
