All the hype about signing players, we have to be realistic, its going to be hard as we had to much disruption and to many face changes last year , you need premier proven players with experience hard to buy and get, mopo will be concentrating on getting rid of the deadwood and getting a solid back four. A must for success .

We needed a left back, and have a future prospect in Davies, now we need a solid center back with youth and pace although

t could be that fryers shines this year and stands up to the plate maybe current team members who were awful last year will surprise us and be world class under mopo, agree with Davo do not think pauliniho fits into the English game . Would love grizeman or kolopiuyanka, schinerdlin and Lascelles . We will see

Hi everyone, I want to ask what position schneiderlin plays.
Whilst nominally a DM, he seems to me more of a box to box midfielder.At southampton wanyama played the more defensive element.
If so, he is not to be considered a replacement for sandro/capoue but competition/replacement for one of our box to box midfielders.
With all the defensive issues we had last year, including sherwood's disdain of dms in general, a central partnership of sandro/capoue +schneiderlin sounds good to me.

We could probably ship out Sandro or Capoue and Paulinho and bring him in and be better of.

Going on last season, have we got any box to box midfielders . We had plenty of 18 yard line to halfway line midfielders, and a lot of ' I can't be bothered to chase back midfielders!

I would out Paulinho if we get £20m for him I'd take it all day long. Even £15m

nice to see a fellow welshman on his way to spurs this boy will be worth 50 mill in 4 years time that's how good he is also have spurs had any bad welsh players eg bale, cliff jones, mike england simon davies and pat van den huuwe to name a few watched spurs on saturday the defence is shocking dawson kaboul and rose were all over the place get rid asap

Vorm on his way for 5m what a complete waste of money I no some Swansea season ticket holders and he's not even the best keeper at their club anymore surely we have a young keeper to show trust in and promote to 1st squad and use that 5m towards a striker/winger/defenders

We obviously don't have a good enough young keeper, and to be fair £5m for Vorm is a good deal. I think your mates in Swansea have been on the mushrooms.

Yes bucks spur gunter was poor but the list I put up is good 2 of them bale and cliff jones are some of the best spurs players EVER

Ben Davies young exciting left back well needed Shniederlin excellent defensive mid stats don't lie, and Vorm as lloris back up great business if they can get all 3 done. A good proven striker is a must too.

I hear what your saying. But I would push Aaron into a more central role as he can't cross the ball for sh1t. Put Him behind the front 2 but with enough space to run at defenders directly towards the goal.

Lennon needs to receive the ball whilst on the move or at least facing the opposition, he can then accelerate past defenders.

last years playing style certainly didn't play to his strengths as he was getting the ball facing his own goal.

The Davies deal is now completed along with Vorm coming our way in exchange for siggy I'm hearing, two rumours which have really sparked up recently are destro, the Roma striker and nikola vlasic, yet another young Croatian dubbed the next Modric, I'm assuming destro is lazy journalism due to the Baldini link between us and I'm going to take a wild punt and say vlasic will snub us for a champions league team, he's 16 and playing first team football for hajulk split mind so a loan deal back will probably be arranged. Eds have you heard anything on the Vorm front as I thought you said Krul was our number 1 choice, also vlasic and destro, lazy journalism or is there a real interest?

do we not have any top class scouts.
everone can see that we need a striker if we have a chance of getting in to the top 4.
and a striker that scores goals would be nice.

Destro scored 19 in 42 games he will be the biggest mistake

Doumbia scored 18 in 22 league game last year he is a beast and exactlly what we need in a striker.
any chance or is no one trying to buy him cause he will cost to much?

Totally disagree. Destro plays in a harder league for starters. Surely Bony would be a better option than Doumbia.

{Ed008's Note - I rate Destro highly for me a better striker then Bony and Doumbia but he's been injury prone the last few years..

Davies in/Rose out Stones in/ Dawson out, Schneiderlin in/ Pauliniho out, Memphis Depay in/ Towsend out, Chiccarito in/Kane out. Sell Sigg and Holtby and this would be a cheap summer with the squad hugely improved and trimmed.

My list a few days ago was

Davies
Nastasic
Kopylanka
Bony

Perfectly happy with your suggestions though but, just don't think the Stones rumours have any substance. Also looks like we're giving Swansea Siggy + cash for Vorm and unfortunately, your swaps wouldn't be that cheap.

Vorm for Sig + £4m. -£4m

Davies £10m, Rose £6m. -£4m

Stones £22m, Dawson £4m (and won't budge). -£18m

Schneiderlin £20m ish, Paulinho, could we really get £18-20m? Maybe cost-neutral.

Depay £18m, Townsend £8m. -£10m

Hernandez £10m, Kane £3m. -£7m

Sell one or two others, Naughton and perhaps Sandro for £17m ish between them (I think Sandro should be £18m+ but fees being rumoured are way lower, £12m and below!).

Means we could actually still spend £26-30m+ on the above. Not mega-money these days but Levy has a net spend of about £0 over the past few years so don't see it myself.

We are not getting Vorm for £5m and Siggy. That would be crazy. Siggy is worth £9-11m. Siggy is going to be used in the Davies deal or else sold seperately. Vorm fee is £5m.

Fair play Clankers, thought it was nuts when I read it but, not sure about £9-11m for Sig but, even at £8m that would make Vorm £12-13m. Sounds a lot but then again I'm sure they were touting him quite high.

No bother Simmo. I'm sure they wanted more but the have fabianski now and Vorm is 30 so it's probably a good deal for everyone. Siggy is only 26 if i'm not mistaken so easily worth 9-11 imo. Especially if Ross McCormack is worth it.

Is it realistic to get all 4? Plus we still need a centre back - are Laselle or Stones still being worked on? I think Caulker would be a good shout
