Just noticed that Ade got number 25 or something. does tjat mean number 9 has been left for a sneaky wee Striker? hope so and Levys giving us a treat for this season.

Btw also not very happy to lose Daws or Hud unless we get in half decent replacements

Rumours linking Willian as Modric's replacement are definitely wide of the mark. Why would we sign a winger (who can play as an attacking midfielder) to replace a deep-lying playmaker? I'm not saying Willian isn't a target but he belongs in the same category as Adam Johnson and Stephane Sessegnon who have also been linked as quality, versatile wide players. If rumours are to be believed the Modric replacement could be:
Dembele (Skillful, powerful, tidy with a good price tag)
Meireles (Solid but not in Modric's class)
Moutinho (Perfect, but very pricy)
Pjanic (Potential, very similar to Modric, but the sounds from his agent aren't good).

not seen much of willian, a couple of europa games but i've just watched a vid on youtube and i have to say, this kid looks pure class!! if spurs can sign him i can see him being a real hit! and on the cheap aswell? spurs leaving it late but it seems the waiting has been worth it!! COYS

Believable1 Unbelievable0

With a bit of simple editing, even Emile Heskey could look good on YouTube. That said, he is a good player, but not in the same class as Moutinho.

Lol Check out the RM web site, Luka Modric is one of there players so expect the announcement tomorrow!!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

That was a link off another site.
Now google and check the official site.
Nothing on there
I think the link was fake. Wouldn't be the first time. {Ed008's Note - I checked myself.

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently, it was up. Now they have removed it.
If a player profile had been done, then, says it all really.
Remember the ade pic on the spurs site in the new kit?

Spurs Guvnor I did not see that post that you say you posted their are other Ed's and they might have deleted if it was abusive.
I follow Spurs i am not a supporter as i support 2 other teams one being my local team Brentford and the other being a rival to Spurs and to avoid a debate i won't say it and no it's not Arsenal. I just post your rumours/banter and enjoy a joke with you guys i have never stated i was and never have mocked Spurs in anyway. That's all you need to know and i couldn't put your recent post up as it was "offensive" {Ed008's Note - This is me.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Ed are you a man city fan also if you are there not currently our rivals {Ed008's Note - Why do you want to know ? No i'm not.

Football has officially gone mad......
Apparently, the rumour mill is, adebayor did not get his signing on fee.
He has a 4 year deal with us.
We are paying him 80,000 per week.
Man city are paying him 90,000 for next 3 years.
That is to not, play for them.
Omg.....what is going on lol

With all the main teams in the EPL having 3+ strikers, except US and Chelski, could we really be in pole position to sign a quality striker? I hope that we don't try for the same players (Damiao / Llorente) as we will lose. Also what about Sneijder as our CM replacement for Wan Miguel Modric..!!

We have to plan BIG to compete and not get left behind AGAIN...

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think we will get lewandowski

Agree0 Disagree1

My opinion only, but with a little bit of cover now, it wouldn't surprise me if levy went for Rossi now.
I think they need to sell him after being relegated.

Agree0 Disagree0

Isnt rossi ruled out till mid september {Ed008's Note - More next year... Favours a move to Italy though

So Adebayor has finally put pen to paper. We all know he did well last year but now he has his contract, let's hope we see the same player and not the moody trouble maker that was at The and Man City.

Does anyone know what his current status is with Togo's national squad? I know he retired once, but I think I recall him coming out of retirement. I only ask as there is another Africians Cup of Nations this coming January. Newcastle will be screwed with Cisse and Ba turning out for Senegal, but how will it effect us if we don't get someone else in?

Thank you in advance.

African Nations this season, must have another striker in before the window shuts.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If ade plays and if his country qualify.

Agree0 Disagree0

Adebayor retired from international footie

Agree1 Disagree1

Wikipedia - Adebeyor subsequently returned to international duty in November 2011 following assurances from the Togo Football Federation regarding safety, making his comeback in a 1–0 win over Guinea-Bissau in a 2014 World Cup qualifier.

In the midst of all the excitement over potential transfers, thought it was worth noting that talksport have said 19 year old Spurs loanee Massimo Luongo has been the best player on the pitch by a country mile in the first of half of the Ipswich-Watford game. The future's bright.

Why is everybody now praising and raving about DL, it only Ade, granted its better than nobody, but it is not the player everybody wanted, me included
I hope I'm wrong but give it 10-15 games and his toys will be well and truly out of pram and the windo will be shut and we will be back in this position once again, unless he signs another striker and quick

But at least things are looking a little brighter down at the Lane.

THFC4EVER

Believable2 Unbelievable0

As already stated, adebeyor, apparently, is getting the no.25 shirt.
That still leaves 9 and 12 free.
There is plenty of no.9's out there available and one noticeable no.12 available.
I think one big buy is coming, only my opinion tho.

Agree2 Disagree1

Who's the noticeable number 12 ? {Ed008's Note - I think he means Hulk...

Agree0 Disagree0

I think I do mean hulk, I no there is not much chance getting him but while he is available, there is always that chance.

Does anybody know if levy is in the country or not? my boss has just come back from japon on business with sony and has said that they are in talks with levy about naming rights for the new stadium. can you imagin that, spurs playing at a ground called the 'playstation'

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I'm sure Sony wouldn't name a stadium 'the playstation stafium'. More like 'the Sony stadium'.
I don't think it sounds that bad. It could be worse.
Imagine if Richard Branson got the image rights lol

Soooooooo........ ill be the 1st to apologise to Mr Levy... BIt late but better late then never with the adi deal....great signing. It brings back stability to the team as he will hit the floor running cos he was with us last year. No team jel time needed.Ok so bass has gone and poss dawson. Im not to upset as i welcome back cal back from swansea. Great yound hope...could be the next king at the lane. Also the mod deal is not done a poss 27-35 mil to collect or keep the player.i say win win
Ed could we be raising funds for a meggaaaa player deal?
have we agreed a price for a player because the clear out is happening very fast?
A SMILING MR G (4 once)
Dnt let us down mr Levy please... go get who you are looking at. {Ed008's Note - Possibly i think you need to replace Modric and only name is linked Moutinho and M'Vila 2 different types of players but everyone knows this.

Ideal Squad:

GK:
Lloris/Butland (13/10m)
Friedel
Cudicini

DF:

Walker RB
Naughton RB/LB
Kaboul CB
Caulker CB
Gallas CB
Vertonghen CB/LB
Fryers CB/LB (3m compensation)
Cissokho LB (8m)

MID:

Parker CDM
Sandro CDM
M'Vila CDM (11m)
Pjanic CM (12m)
Livermore CM
Sigurdsson ACM
Van Der Vaart ACM

FWD:

Lennon RW/LW
A. Johnson RW/LW (12m)
Bale RW/LW
Dos Santos RW/LW
Adebayor ST (8m inc. hefty singing on fee)
????? ST (insert Dzeko, Damiao,etc 25m)

Outs:

Gomes 2m
Corluka 5.5m
Bassong 4m (reported 2.5m w/ 1.5m add)
Dawson 7.5m
Assou Ekotto 8m
Huddlestone 6m
Jenas 2m
Bentley 2m
Krancjar 5.5m
Pienaar 4.5m
Modric 35m (reported 25m w/10m adds)
Defoe 7m

99m not including Palacios, Pav, etc

Ins would be around 90m too. But ignoring figures, which I admit are likely to be inaccurate, Spurs could build a quality squad and still break even in the transfer market. Figures aside, agree or disagree if you think the above squad could really challenge for a top 4 spot in the EPL...

I think if we let Dawson leave the sad part would be losing someone who genuinely wants to play for our club, brave passionate and always gives 110% but based on attributes I can understand the logic behind avb letting him go as he will get caught out by the high line, but defo think we need at least 5cbs for this season. Believable2 Unbelievable0

21 Aug 2012 14:35:51
Have we all forgotten just how poor Bent was last time he was at the Lane? Harry wasn't far wrong when he said his mother inlaw could do better!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It was Sandra his wife not his mother in law.

Get your facts right! Lol

I don't think Bent is all that bad but have to admit we need a target man more.

I think he was harshly treated by Twitcher, we haven't exactly replaced him with any better goal scoring striker since we sold him.

21 Aug 2012 01:35:17
Ok it's not about the big name it's about the right name that will make a difference.from last season we are 2 players short. Mod and adi was a huge hit 4 us.we didn't win rubbish or cl place. So I thought you keep the same squad add it by 2-3 players and move on the players who dnt make a different. Levy has done the total opposite. We are in a position now that we are replacing our best players. For years levys goal was cl and the extra cash it brought in. I think his ambition has gone and happy with a mid table club with good accounts.
Point 2 either keep the transfer window open all season long or close it at the start of the season.
Point 3 loan signing from premier clubs to prem clubs should stop
Mr g

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Point 1 - As we are not in the CL for 2 seasons running, we have to cut costs.
Point 2 - The window is kept open until the European competitions require the squad lists.
Point 3 - I agree totally

Agree0 Disagree1

Hardly levys fault models wants to leave for the second season. Give him credit for keeping him this long! Ade was on loan. So what is the stress about?

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Aug 2012 01:20:05
If there is no intention of spending £20-30m on a big name striker, then why has Levy not worked at our level to ensure striking options for the start of the season? At least one should have been in place. Berbatov, Kalou, Ade, even Owen as a freebie spare option, whatever, just examples of what we should've been doing if we can't or won't spend. What we just don't bother signing any? Ridiculous, the most unprepared squad in the league trying to 'get by' due to this, hoping we'd nick results that won't have the press hounding AVB by the end of the month. Hopefully we'll fiddle through two home fixtures regardless but one of those beat us at home last year. If Ade comes, I for one will not be grateful, it will be even more frustrating when it should've been done and we should've been adding another option with him and Defoe. Sort it out now, we get our membership and season ticket money debited as the last season ends but don't get strikers until after we've lost already....not on.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

21 Aug 2012 01:19:24
Glenn, Levy has had years of knowing our need for a striker. Also if Avb aint identified our targets yet then we are in trouble. More like every bid gets turned down cos Levy takes the **** with insultingly low bids.
I like many am becoming very frustrated and i expect real quality in before Sept otherwise Levy will think what happened to Alan Sugar was a picnic.
