How did our youngsters get on in final? Last time I checked Obika and Pritchard had put us 2 up at United {Ed004's Note - United won 3-2}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bloody hell! Last time I heard, we were cruising.

well looks like the under 21, s have taken on the first teams habit of throwing things away 2 nil up at half time and lose 3-2, the commentary on mutv was highly irregular apparently spurs should be down to seven men and manutd should have had three penaltys bugger me, and then they shout Manchester United the best premiership under 21 team of the year, look at the league table persons we won the league by 12 bloody points {Ed004's Note - No need to be bitter. But there were times I personally thought Spurs got lucky though I was impressed with them second half and some of your forwards have huge potential}

Sunderland fan here
Well done on the win, great goal by Bale, no goalie in the world would have got that
If you get a top class striker to partner Bale, I generally believe you can challenge for the league, but first you got to give us Rose
All the best for next season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Think your right
Good luck next season

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep good luck to you next year, and yep for the right money, Rose is yours as Fryers is a much better prospect I think.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think 7-8m would do it

Lads as a gooner I am not on to gloat. I would like to congratulate you on a great season where the competition between the two teams was immense. You plated some fantastic football and ended up with a record points total. I hope you keep Bale as I think he is a fantastic player. Good luck this season and hope it is as good as the last one
Paul Belfast

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Top man Paul.
I hope this is now a close rivalry between our clubs for years to come.

This is a proper arsenal fan, not all the p. s taking trolls that frequent the spurs sites.

Agree0 Disagree0

Football is a game. We go to the matches to watch our teams with our friends. The emotions run high during the game and sometimes after it, but it's still a game. I have friends who love spurs, some of the best guys in the world, and I cannot fall out with them over a game. I really enjoyed this season, was it because arsenal finished fourth, no but because the banter was great all year round. I met a lot of great people who followed differrent teams but our common love was football. This is what the game is like. So when I say good luck next season I really mean it. Would it have mattered if spurs finished above arsenal. Well I wold have been buying drink for a while, but no. They're still my mates and nothing changes that and I will still support them.
Paul Belfast

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Paul, The words of a true Arsenal fan. The rivalry is fun and adds to the energy and passion of the competition.

Looking forward to the future and friendly banter

Dont need to sell off your best players??
you ain't got any left to sell!

Wow, I didn't mind u spurs fans, bit after seeing the pathetic jealous jibes towards our team, I sort of wanna rub it in your face! Face the facts, arsenal are supreme and always will be. We've finished paying off our debt from the stadium so we won't need to sell our top stars anymore, and through all this financial trouble spurs have gone out and spent millions on players but still can't finish above us. If u want a new stadium you're going to have to take a huge chunk of money out the bank also, except you will be declining whilst we will be getting stronger. don't kid yourself, all of you know spurs will lose Bale! Why would he want to stay at spurs. i'm not just saying this because i'm an arsenal fan but for a moment just sit back and look at this as a neutral, his teams not in the champions league and he would be offered hundreds of thousands more at another club. Money talks. So, instead of congratulating you on pushing us all the way, I will congratulate you on messing it up again. No excuses, you know that North London is red!

Frank {Ed008's Note - Correction you still have to pay off the debt..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Frank you are a c. ock.

Read above at Paul's post.
Now that is a proper football fan.

I don't recognise your name, so I'm guessing you are just a good time fan who has appeared from under a rock and you will soon hide away again.
The difference between our clubs is plain to see. You don't win anything and get 4th/3rd every season. That's why your players leave. Absolutely no prospects at silverware. Arsene whinger sacrifices cup comps every season to try and guarantee 4th, all just for the money it brings.
Now, spurs are on the up. We have one if the most highly regarded young coaches in Europe and, when bale signs his new deal this week, it will prove we have what it takes to move on. Yes you battle for the final CL spot every season, but we are aiming higher and I will happily look down on you and laugh.
Now, your rock is calling.

Bye m. oron

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate, you're exactly the type of fan i'm talking about. You're just jealous its pathetic. You say that paul is a true fan because he basically hasn't criticised spurs but then you go ahead and critisice araenal. Wow, you're the perfect example of a hypocrite. And I take it that you have to use offensive words in order to get your badly constructed point out. You're exactly the type of fan that actual spurs fans, who actually accept that they're not in the top four, aim not to be. Congratulations you chum!

Frank

Haha. Reel them in.

Its disappointing not to get Champions league but it means we can develop our squad more in the Europa league instead of our youngsters sitting on the bench we can now give them games and it may mean that in the future players like townsend, rose, archer, carrol, ceballos, coulthirst and pritchard will all benefit from the experience they will get

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Think I read the same post 12 months ago.

Just wanted to say congratulations on your highest ever EPL points total, well done.

Also, you played some great football (well Bale did) and fought right to the end for your own trophy, which is to finish above one of the poorest Arsenal teams in recent history, but you still failed.

However, looking forward to next season and hope you can keep pushing us because it is a lot more fun than when you were really struggling.

Oh, and one more thing.

Mwaaaaahhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Not being in the Champions league is a set back in who we can attract but I believe that there are some players out there who are coming through and will soon be at that level.

Up Front. Lukaku, and Benteke I would have that ahead of Defoe and Lazy Boy Adebayour every day,

Defence, Get Jagielka or Shawcross in and push Vertongen out on the left you would also have Rose for cover and would leave Kaboul, Dawson, Caulker and one or both of the above mentioned players. both already premiership ready and very decent players with international experience. walker and Naughton on the right

Midfield, Sandro and Dembele doing the holding Role, Bale (he will stay one more year) left with Lennon right and the likes of someone like Michu central bombing on with the striker.

I know there are some mega names linked (usually by the Oracle) but I think these are realistic and players who are moving forward in there careers as opposed to Ade, Defoe, Parker, Gallas who are all coming to the end also the likes of Huddlestone are just not quite good enough but good cover if required.

Lloris

Walker
Jagielka
Kaboul
Vertongen

Sandro
Dembele
Lennon
Bale
Michu

one of Benteke or Lukaku

Champions League here we come, hopefully to the expense of Arsenal.

Well said Clive. People said I was "moaning" at the start of the season about this, "come back and see at the end" Well here we are. Time to spend big Mr Levy, if not you know where the door is.
George.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would any of those players come to Spurs, they are all at better clubs, playing better football.

Remember outside the top 4 is mid table!

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant quite see where and how the Likes of Aston Villa, Swansea, West Brom ( on loan I agree, but on loan) Stoke and Everton are better than the Spurs, we have finished above them all now for several years and Villa and Stoke were in the relegation battle, Go and play on the Arsenal site don't need your inane comments here. {Ed008's Note - Erm to the person who made the comment about being outside top 4 is midtable no it's not 10th place is midtable.

Agree0 Disagree0

Benteke maybe but Lukaku? He is a admitted Chelsea fan and says he sees himself as being a new Drogba plus would cost £20-30 million and Chelsea won't want to sell a top talent to us nor loan him to us. I doubt they will do any business with us considering how we handled the Modric fiasco!
Benteke won't be cheap either.
Oxford Spur

Agree0 Disagree0

You may well be right but the initial posting was meant to show that there is good talent out there without having to get players in who are demanding top four wages with no premier league experience, Tom Ince would be a cracking bye a up and coming star with many years of premier football ahead of him.

Dorset Yid

Agree0 Disagree0

How are everton a midtable side try working on 16 million networth for the past 11 years! (EFC FAN)

I don't think anyone here is saying Everton are a mid table side except the person who is obviously a Arsenal fan who replied earlier.

As I've been saying all year we would not get 4th. Now Bale will be off and other teams will invest heavily and we will be left behind. If we want to challenge next season Levy has to go. AVB has done no better than Harry - he had us in the driving seat for Champions League. We need to wake up and smell the coffee.

Clive

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Can't believe there are still Spurs fans around like this. The Lane is full of them. Wake up, smell the coffee and see how well we've done.

Jimbo

Agree0 Disagree0

'Avb has done no better than Harry'
Ok let's see the facts.
Record points total.
Record away wins.
Top quality injury list.
We beat both manc teams and arsenal again.
21 victories in a season.
We now have a young manager the players want to play for. He is highly regarded all over Europe. Avb and bale will both attract quality players.
'Wake up and smell the coffee'! I think you need to wake up and smell some some smelling salts mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Devils advocate, our football this season has been far less attractive, AVB's tactics still baffle me 2 holding midfielders at home to sunderland?? Bale has been immense, seriously immense carried us as a team. let's not get to carried away by the 72 points thing, we are a average side with a amazing individual player that is all

Agree0 Disagree0

Does that make united an average team, with a great goal scorer and possibly the best ever manger?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2013 11:14:23
The Gooners are NOT in the Champions League they have the right to play in the qualifying round where they will lose to the Champions of Moldova or some other far flung part of "Europe" because as we all know they are "pants"

Bale will not be leaving the Lane, we will strengthen our squad and with the Mancs in disarray we will have an even bigger points tally next season.

But please tell me what drugs you are on suggesting any sane person will pay any more than 2 mil for the likes of The Hudd and BAE.

Dembele and The Sig will be better next season as will Holtby. Younis will return with Sandro.

So lift heads, be proud Spurs and look forward to heaping scorn and abuse when the Gooners get dumped in the qualifiers ha ha

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Got to be in it to win it.

Boy you Spuds are sore losers!

Agree0 Disagree0

Dumped in the qualifiers can you remember what it was like to be in the champions league. We gave you a 7 point lead and you fumbled it AGAIN. Bye bye Bale hello mid table. up the gooners lol

Agree0 Disagree0

If we're 'pants' then what are you? You finished below us, or did you forget already?

Ted

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha look at all these gooner trolls.
You won your cup final, well done.
If all you have to look forward to is this then no wonder you have to feed your players to Manchester.
This lot have been crapping it for months now, so much that the relief is plain to see by all these so called 'real' fans coming out of the woodwork.
Well done, gloat, it won't be long before you are all under rocks again hiding like little jelly fish. Again, well done.

20 May 2013 10:10:49
Apart from bale I wouldn't care who gets sold
Apart From bale non of them was outstanding just the odd good game at max.
Go on levy sell bale and we are mid table next season
I'm impressed with avb tho, he looks like he has a plan if levy backs him I'd like to go for the league and let the kids play in Europe. I'm asking for too much I know sorry
Me g

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mr g,
lloris, super jan, dembele, Carroll

Are you really saying you don't care if these players are sold?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2013 16:13:45
Carroll? you mad haha how can you put him in the same category as Dembele and Lloris haha

Agree0 Disagree0

Because he is a future spurs star, not at the moment but in the future. He ill note sold. Any normal spurs fan would know this

Agree0 Disagree0

Above but one poster is definitely not a spurs fan.
Carroll, Pritchard, cabbellos (spelling) and the like will hopefully be pushing for cup starts next season with a view to being first team regulars of the future. This is the reason Carroll as stated, won't be sold.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2013 10:04:59
The morning after. As reality sets in the following players I would like to see sold. Before you all have a go some of these have been with us for a while and we just can do it with them.
Huddlestone- 7m
Benni 6
Adi 7
Defoe 8
Lennon 12
That is 40 mil for new players fresh players hungry to win players. None of the above have done it this season a odd good game here and there maybe. We couldn't beak through with this team. With the top four to get stronger we also need to
Mr g

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree please add to the list Dempsey & Livermore!

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2013 14:20:41
surely you would keep Lennon and sell Townsend?
and hopefully find a replacement?

The South African

Agree0 Disagree0

I like Lennon but don't think he is good enough to inconsistent & not enough of a goal threat

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't see 7m for HUD. he's slower than molasses and the way he reacted after loosing the ball to Connor Wickham in our own half i'd say he couldn't careless either.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2013 09:22:56
Bale stay v go? we will probably know fairly soon. One thing a lot of people don't seem to realise is that with him on the pitch, he is the obvious outlet for all of our attacking plays, therefore no adjustment is made. If we don't have him, the rest of out team will adjust, and we will adopt a different style. We are a one man team, because of Bale. I honestly think that without him, we could still perform.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Just read an amazing stat.
Since 1st feb
Arsenal 35 points
Spurs 30 points
Man utd 30 points
Chelsea's 29 points
Anyone who says we blew it is wrong.
Every team has a bad patch or struggles. It's just our bad luck again that the goons went on that run and done us by one point. I'm not pointing fingers at individuals or games.
We have had a record season, a good season.
I'm proud to say we fought hard but came up short. Roll on next season. Hopefully we can build and move further on. I just hope the teams above us don't now blow us out of the transfer market.
Coys

Agree0 Disagree0

Here here, well said. The only reason The bloody Arsenal always get so many points at the end of the season is the fact that they have nothing else to focus on. Celebrating like they won the world cup, any other club would have got rid of Wenger years ago let's hope they win f all next year as well. and when he leaves cause his contract is up they can look back at a 9 year period with nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2013 08:41:48
Morning gents,

I appreciate it's natural to have a dig at Arsenal because you failed to make the Champions league.

We have gone through a period of 8 yrs of trophy less s****, selling great players and buying good ones in the name of a fantastic new stadium and FFP.

This season we sold RVP, you kept Bale, you were 7 points ahead a month ago, you held 3rd at one point and yet it's all our fault. We didn't make you play Gallas or buy Dempsey, we didn't cause your end of season fall anymore than we did last year.

You say we celebrate the 4th place trophy, under our circumstances why at this point shouldn't we. We look forward to better times.

You on the other hand have still to go through what we are at the end of if you want this new Stadium. let's see what position you're all celebrating with even more financial shackles on.

You could have had 3rd, it was in your hands, don't blame us, look at Levy, AVB and your players.

Stoner

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said Stoner.

Look at those figures in the post above stoner.
Spurs did not blow it. You just went on an amazing run and pipped us.
Both teams should be proud of what they have done this season. I am proud to be a spurs fan today. We ran you very close again. Long may it continue.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2013 08:00:38
I would just like to say Well done to the team and all the staff for a great season. With a brand new manager with new methods and dare I say a weaker team than previous season we still achieved 5th. I know there were certain dropped points here and there but we have to get behind the team. I bet a large % of people at the beginning of the season spoke about us finishing 7th, 8th, 9th and they would of taken that with AVB at the helm and then pushed on after his first season. He has done wonders for the club and cannot wait for next season.

Rather blame other poor teams in the league who easily gave arsenal the points - QPR, Wigan, Newcastle are all sh*t.
