I think it looks likely that Modric will leave this summer, he refuses to commit and says will sort after EUROs etc. if he doesnt want to play for us he doesnt deserve to. so if we sell i would expect we get about 35m for him. who would everyone look to as a replacement CM playmaker? dont think VDV id disciplined enough to play a CM role as defensive duties and stamina will limit him.
Kaka is apparently leaving and could do a job i think? although would be a case of wages and he is getting older.
Hazard in behind if we switch to a 4-2-3-1? although Manchester seems to be his destination.
Ganso? - a lot of hype, says he would prefer Milan but how well will he do in an english league, untested talent for the 14 or so mill we'd have to pay.
anyone else have any ideas? the deep lying playmaker is very hard to find these days, modric being one of the best about at that role...

I'd be of the opinion if levy decides to sell modric ( luka doesn't have much say in it he's under a longterm contract) offer him to utd for either valencia + cash or javier Hernandez + cash if they say no tell them we'l only do player exchange or we sell to city. As long as he isn't sold to cheatski I dont mind where he goes but of he was sold abroad all the better.
Getting a like for like replacement there's a few who could, At valencia any 1 of Ever Banega, Tino Costa, Mehmet Topal or Dani Parejo could fill the playmaker roll, Bruno Soriano of Villareal could be a cheap option, javi marques has had a bad season but he is a good player & again wouldn't cost the world, Marvin Martin of sochaux would b good replacement although hel probably go to Lyon.
Fernando gago could do a deep lying role, Then unlikely Madrid players Nuri Sahin & Alonso could easily fit into team. There's a guy at zenith Igor Denisov watch out for him at euros for russia good player. I quiet like Joe Allen at swansea & if it was me I'd be tempted to sign 2 players to replace luka, Joe Allen & Michel Bastos ( can play cm wing & left back)

Yeh thats a point modric was untested for was 16.5 (give or take) but that was when we were happy to throw 15 at bentley and bent. these days we dont seem to fancy any transfers more than 4m. possibly Hamsik could be a shout can play a deeper or more advanced roll but dont know his availability/other interests? some good shouts above, the guy who said badelj, hamsik etc. sounds like your listing the best FM players there are lol. and i think theres a good chance he will go, look at berba couple of years ago. levy decided to keep, played a couple start of season and wasnt interested at all so levy got rid. i know modders didnt react like that this season but being told to stay 2 years on the trot may be a bit much? either way looking forward to the exciting and horrifyingly optimistic (Oracle...) rumours over the summer.

No club in the world would pay over 20m for Hulk so it is feasable that he could come to Tottenham. The 80m clause is cuckoo land.
