spurs guvnor {Ed008's Note - No need for those comments I thought you were better then that! Ed002 is the one who provides the most accurate transfer news sharing info with all teams on this website some people need to learn some manners and think about what their saying.

Disgraceful, I post a link from the Arsenal page hoping our fans would be as shocked as I was when I read it. I'm guessing by eds response to this that our fans are no better than that of our rivals. Your a disappointment to all those that call themselves spurs fans!

If you ain't got nothing nice to say then simply shut the f*ck up!

Hi guys,
I was on the Arsenal page and found this! Here's to hoping our fans have more respect for the eds.

"hello all, usually my posts are light-hearted and meant to get people to think and post their opinions. but today, as i'm scrolling down reading ppl's posts, I come across one from "mhc" about why Ed02 is not around any more.

apparently it is because he was receiving abuse and even death threats from arsenal fans on here telling him his info was a load of rubbish while Ed02 and all the Eds for that matter run this site as a favour to us.

now, I don't know about you but when I hear stuff like this I just want to vomit. WTF is wrong with some ppl? death threats? really? how miserable and insignificant is your life that you need to come on here and make other ppl's lives a hell hole? especially when no one is asking you to be here, everything is free!

whoever you are, I won't emulate your behaviour and send verbal abuse and death threats (seriously, grow up) but I hope you are happy with what your actions have accomplished, you ruined it for the rest of us and now Ed02 wants nothing to do with us. so thanks.

to Ed02, not sure if this will reach you, but on behalf of the gunners faithful I would like to apologise for those persons who harassed you and I hope that in time you decide to come back and share your insight with us because you are appreciated, as are all the Eds.

peace out {Ed007's Note - I will pass on your good wishes to Ed002. Believe it or not death threats etc are not uncommon, as the main Celtic editor I have had some abhorrent posts sent into, including people wish my wife be raped, who in their right mind can stoop to those types of levels? Sadly with Ed002 it was really getting out of hand, it is after all only a football forum. }"

Not condoning it, but eds answers can be a bit out of order and provocative.

Maybe so but so can our posts, death threats, wishing rape on a loved 1. Seriously? it's only a football forum!
I appreciate what your saying but totally pathetic! {Ed008's Note - Eds don't wish any of this they mostly try to banter with you guys and you guys take offence as their is a lack of sense of humour with most people we are all football fans!

The problem in football is the selection criteria often is based around hype and not performance. Statistical analysis is becoming more prevalent in football, and it is exposing the mass serial underachievers. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that players like Jenas and Bentley were not good enough, but sadly even with all these advances we are still saturated with modern day mediocrity.

AVB is beginning to shape the team in his mould, and we all need to appreciate that a squad does not benefit from having 22 players who all expect to be first team selections. However, it is equally clear that we need depth and consistency if we are to challenge for the League, and stand a chance to reach the latter stages of the Cups and Champions League.

We have a superb keeper in Lloris who is looking world class, and I doubt many have a reserve keeper as dependable as the ever youthful Friedel. In defence I think Vertonghen looks awesome, and with Kaboul, Dawson and Caulker we certainly have a strong middle. The question is whether Fryers is equal to the hype, if so I doubt LB looks short with BAE and Vertonghen able to cover. RB does look a little more worrying with Walker on such poor form, but Naughton can be our future if just given the chance. I doubt that will happen, and Walker may prove me wrong and learn to defend again next season when it all matters.

If we assume that 4-2-3-1 is the shape for the future, I feel very confident with Dembele and Sandro. We already have Livermore, Parker & Huddlestone capable of playing deeper roles. We certainly have cover, but I can see AVB selling on Huddlestone & Parker. I would be amazed if we didn't sign Moutinho, as Sandro will need plenty of time to rediscover his previous brilliant standards.

The attacking line of 3 in midfield looks strong with Bale and Lennon, but I can't help to think about what would happen if we lost either of them to injury or worse. Sigurdson, Dempsey, Caulker and others have failed to impress at the highest level, and Holtby whilst good doesn't look a world beater to me. Bale does seem even better in the central position, but the team lacks width when he plays there. I would like to see us sign a Robben or Willian on the LM, and then we would have a much more balanced team. But surely the option is Christian Eriksen if the numbers being touted are for real. he looks a potential superstar, and isn't far off the very best already.

The real issue with Spurs is the front line, Defoe just doesn't have the consistency of a top striker, and Adebayor seems to find nothing after he signs contracts. I would be amazed if we started next season with either players, and hope that our Champions League status will encourage Levy to invest in two top strikers. Lewandowski, Negredo, Soldado, Damiao, Papiss Cisse, Michu or even Lukaku would provide the flair we need upfront. When Vertonghen has two times as many goals as Adebayor it sort of tells its own story.

The great news is whoever we sign will need to be top quality, as buying anyone like Sigurdson, Dempsey, Defoe or even Holtby is not going to improve the squad. So it will be really exciting over the summer, and I certainly cannot wait to visit the Bernabau and come away worthy winners.

Watch out Europe, the sleeping giant has awoken.

The Oracle

Believable1 Unbelievable6

I see Oracle is back. whilst making some good points (that was hard to say) he still spouts on about Damiao, and Willian who signed for mega money on a mega contract. he is right that we do need two quality strikers and a couple of better than what we have squad players but we do need to strengthen the fb areas and will prob need a back up goalie as the evergreen Brad will be 41 next season and as much as I like him just feel we need a younger keeper who we can blood.

Also just heard that we are moving to the olympic stadium in 2014, did you know that oracle. lol

Just my thoughts.

You are right to say CB is solid. Vertonghen, Kaboul and Dawson are excellent options to choose from, and I have no idea why you have written of Caulker so early on in his development. He clearly has potential and will come good in the future.

We don't need Moutinho, we have Dembele and Sandro as first choice CMs at a good age and Parker/Livermore/Holtby/Carroll are more than capable of covering that position in their absence. Livermore/Holtby/Carroll are both still developing and will come good in the future. Huddlestone is a decent squad player when fit.

Left back is potentially a problem, as I don't think BAE is invested in the team as much as the rest of the squad but he is a decent player (calm under pressure) and hopefully, as you said, Fryers will live up to the hype.

Right back is not a problem, it's just an area of the squad that is lacking in experience at the moment. Walker and Naughton are both still developing, and will come good in the future.

Attacking mid is not a problem. Bale and Lennon are both top quality. Siggs/Holtby are still developing and will come good in the future. Dempsey is a decent squad player.

The only place we need to reinforce is Striker. We only need one. Lewandowski or Lukaku would be ideal, but we will never get Lukaku for a good price from Chelsea. Negredo or Soldado could potentially be decent. Damiao is unproven, clearly doesn't have the attitude to play for us and fit into our squad, and in my opinion a waste of money and time. Michu will be overpriced and a risky buy so I can't see that happening. Papiss Cisse, what are you smoking?

To be honest I think you should stop thinking in the short term, and get behind the squad. We clearly have a good mix of young potential and experience in the ranks and under AVB we are clearly progressing as a club.

Adam

Agree3 Disagree2

Sorry Adam but Livermore isn't fit to wear the Spurs shirt whatever his age, whist Parker is ok but runs around in circles like a headless chicken. As for one new forward, would you really trust our future to either of our present forwards? We have a good basis but need strengthening but can anyone see Levy opening the purse strings that much?
