no more bad signings at spurs. in the next few months the players we buy have to be right for us. look at the palace game we were losing and we bring on capoue and soldado. I knew they were not going do anything. let's get at least 8 crap players out in january. and I would bring in delph, sissoko schniderlin and why not go for austin and ings to help kane

We don't need a massive overhaul of players, we need to look to get rid 1st, we have so much deadwood at the club. Let's see Ings & Austin next season. Maybe bring 1 or 2 in if we can shift 4 players. Paulinho has to go, Ade has to go, & I never thought I'd say this as I still think he has potential but we're not the right club for Soldado and he doesn't seem right for us, so I think it's time to move him on aswell. Maybe look at getting a couple of loan deals in.

The challenge is going to be off loading the so called deadwood at prices Levy wants for them . Naughton and Kaboul appear at this point in time to have been priced by Levy out of moves away.

Then again if we find cover that MoPo wants and is available maybe Levy will unload them for what he can get as long as it is within the realms of reasonable.

Realistically I would like to see the following in and out:

In - H.Moreno, Berahino, Cabaye (loan)
Out - Adebayor, Lennon, Paulinho, Capoue, Kaboul, Chiriches, Naughton.

Cabaye would be a good short term option and potentially look at Delph on a free in the summer. Would give players like Soldado, Dembele, Townsend till the summer and then sell and look to improve on vacant positions if required. Squad would look like this.

Gk - Lloris, Vorm
Def - Yedlin, Walker, Fazio, Verts, Moreno, Dier, Rose, Davies.
CMs - Bentaleb, Mason, Cabaye, Stambouli.
AMs - Eriksen, Dembele, Chadli, Lamela, Townsend
STs - Berahino, Soldado, Kane.

Exciting young squad I think!

It's clear that we still haven't got the balance of our team quite right, either in the centre of the defence or in the wide areas, and there is still some problems to solve, but that doesn't necessarily mean jumping into the transfer market again this January.

I would like to see some more evidence that Pochettino is really getting to grips with our tactics and our organization before we embark on yet another spending spree.

Over Christmas, I was looking at an old Match of the Day clip of our 1998 game at Wimbledon. It was the penultimate game of the season and we desperately needed a result to be sure of avoiding relegation, so our 6-2 win was both unexpected and very welcome.

However, the real eye-opener was our team. We had obviously been struggling badly for some time, but the starting line-up for that game included Sol Campbell, Stephen Carr, Darren Anderton, David Ginola, Les Ferdinand and Jurgen Klinsmann. Even though a couple of these players were coming towards the end of their careers at the very top, all six would walk straight into our current squad and most would walk straight into our best team.

Either the Premiership was much stronger in the Nineties than it is now (which I doubt) or it once again confirms that just accumulating good players doesn't necessarily ensure effective football.
