Has intrest in Zaha stepped up i can't see us paying what shaktar want for willian and zaha has bags of potential just wondering if he is almost ertain to join manchester united or do we have any chance ?

I don't think we have lost when he has played. He is not a goal scorer, neither was modric.
He breaks up play and makes room, plays a simple pass and gets us decent advanced possession. He, Hugo snd Verts are inspired signings and without them we wouldn't be anywhere near where we are. Dembele had his 1st off day today. Nothing more than that.

We are at our best when we move the ball around with gusto = quickly!! Too slow a build up today, Demble must speed-up more when he's got the ball gave away too much.

We signed him as modders replacement
He is suppose to be creative not breaking up play and making a simple
Pass.... Is that not sandros or parkers

We tried to sign moutinho as modrics replacement.
Dembele is not modrics replacement and never was. He has just been given that tag because he was a midfield signing in the same window as we sold modric.

He had to play in modrics role because modric wasn't replaced.

So we should leave him out then, because you don't know what his job is.
He reminds me of carrick, very good, very silky, does his job and is a starter in every match he is fit.

Don't think we can moan at Dembele this season when he hasn't played he is sorely missed and for me as good a replacement for modric there is out there. I would ask the question of what happened to our vdv replacement, Dempsey is not it. This is where we miss the spark, goals and another option of formation

Trying to do like for like comparisons of players when a different system is being developed/deployed is a little difficult. Comparing Dembele and his role to Modric is apples to pears.

Mr g, his been playing out of position since we signed him. He is Not suppose to play the role of modric. If you look at his time at fulham he was untoucable playing behind the striker.

After the draw against QPR today I just thought I'd point this out - we currently have 2 points more from the games we've played this season compared to their counterparts last season, and we have the maximum amount of points available against newly promoted teams.

Stat for you. On last seasons performances, playing the same teams we have played this season, we are 4 points better off this season.
So who is doing the better job??
It's like AVB had a better point per game record than RDM at Chelsea and was closer to the top 4, so who done the better job there too.
I know I am biased, but I think AVB is a top manager and got a rough deal at yours.

I pointed out, on the same fixtures, points/results wise, he IS doing a better job.
Your point is hypothetical as we don't know how many points AVB will get us.
He had only had 6 months so far.
You make a bit of a silly point really.
You stated a fact, I stated a fact. You was wrong. We can answer your point at the end of the season.
Do you get it now. Fact is, AVB, so far, is doing a better job by getting better results.

Disappointing we couldn't get all 3 points today but hopefully it will have shown Levy that we badly need a creative MF and a top drawer striker because lots of teams are gonna try and stop us scoring and look to sneak a win on the break. Sadly we all know Levy can't quite bring himself to spend the big money to bring those sort of players to WHL, hope I'm wrong cos I really think we are just 2 signings away from reallt being able to establish ourselves as a regular top 4 team and maybe more.

Not even a top drawer striker. Maybe we need a better striker against bigger teams, but I think the player we missed more than anything today was VDV. Get in Younes Belhanda on the cheap to play that role!

The problem is we struggled against teams that parked the bus last season ...and we had VDV and Modric then. Suggest there might be a different issue ..if Ade had put the rebound away as he should have they would have been forced to open up ...and that is when we usually take teams apart. The teams above us have goal scorers they only need a sniff.

Very very angry right about now!! Ye qpr were going to defend for 90 mins but comes to show you, we need that striker (Adebayor was TERRIBLE again today) and we need that playmaker to split those defences open or get that vital goal! Dawson should never play again. He was so poor. Always tried to go long and looked way of part. And finally, start playing Naughton at right back. Walkers getting way ahead of himself...someone please tell him he ain't Dani Alves. Just concentrate on defending and stop getting caught out!

Dawson made some really important tackles in that game, you can't be too hard on the team QPR just parked the bus.

We played against a team who has a 45 year old defender that we gave away, wether teams park the bus or not, we should be able to deal with that . The fact that matters is our forwards arent consistent enough . A lot has been said on this site about JD, yes he has scored a lot and carried us well, but he isnt good enough for a potential top 4 team ! As for Ade, well please don't get me started, totally over rated, did enough last year to get his contract so we won't hear from again, what a load of crap . Avb has done well to get us here, what a great manager to get in, but its time for him to stop beating about the bush and tel tight arse Levy that we are in desperate need of a TOP QUALITY CENTRE FORWARD, not one of his bargain bucket miss fits, or this year will end up like last year, all promise and nothing else !!
