If Redknapp does go, we have to break the bank to get Gus Hiddink in. He is the man to take us to the next level. His reputation alone would attract top players even though we were robbed of champions league. I think the rich russians of Anzhi may have something to say about it though.

Why do people keep saying moyes is the man to bring in all he has done at everton is make them a top 10 team with average players the only reason levy likes this guy is because he will work with a crap budget n not moan about it if a new manager comes in its got to be one to take us forward n be able to attract top players give it to moyes n maybe we get phil neville fellani aswell real quality i dont think

Believable2 Unbelievable3

So a manager with an absolutely crap budget, managing a skint club who, time and time again ( well since the 2006-2007 season) gets them finishing in the top seven, including 3 finishes for European football qualification, should never be considered because he couldnt drag a potless club into the top four?
Are we talking about the same fella who bought Pienaar in, made Baines an England international, got Cahill playing and scoring and signed Jelavic for f*ck all money and saw him score 9 goals in 13 league appearances?
Well you cant say he isnt lucky, eh!

Super yod ..... Your forgetting a lot of players he signs and or creates and them turning gold gold .... Either literally money wise or for his teams benifit ....
Lescott ... Bought for something like 5 m all in all sold or like 22 ?
Again already mentioned that plays well for him and originally bought for 2 ish m ... Granted doesn't fit our team but does well for them ...
Already mentioned Cahill ... Baines jelavic
..... Felliani ok granted was very expensive for them wasnt it something like 15 odd ?
Ok yes he plays a defensive game .... But I play and coach and I know damn well I'd rather play defensively (ie safe and in stylish) and win a game than play good looking flamboyant football and lose .... Just me maybe?
These are the managers I'd like
Moyes , AVB , Martinez ,

Also other quick question .... I know it's a while ago now ... But why did we lose camolli ? Granted made a few blunders ..... But bought in some real stars aswell ....

I dont think Moyes had any option but to sell Lescott, he more or less refused to play for them unless he got his transfer to City. For everton, it was a good deal, they are in a poor financial situation and, I assume, the money they got for him helped balance the books. Camolli, IIRC, bought in more sh*te than gold and, in anycase, few managers are prepared to work with "directors of football" which basically means they bring in the players, you make them fit in and perform and if you dont its your fault...
I think the average British manager doesnt accept having players bought in over their heads, which is fair enough.
Safe and stylish is ok if you dont have great technical ability, bit like england tonight, defence minded, solid enough but spent too much time defending the penalty area for my liking. Against a top side like spain, we would get ripped to pieces. Just my opinion fella.

You answered your own question - the fact that he has build a (resonably) seccessfull team over a long period of time and most importantly for those who write the cheques - always on a shoestring budget is the reason why he is wanted...

Wouldn't mind moyes as long as he brought Cahill and Jelavic with him as part of the deal

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not saying I want Moyes, im just saying i can see it happening.....

Flippit.

I think the idea that Moyes would be given a shoestring budget is a bit false. I cant think of any manager under the current owners who could complain that they were never backed in the transfer market. If Moyes can find bagains and turn them into top class players, would that be so bad? Is it not better to get those players before we start having to shell out millions more on them from other clubs? Point of fact is that Modric cost us £16 million and now he is valued at £25 to £30 million. Maybe its not such a bad thing to get the next Modric for a bargain price before every other f*cker starts diving in, pushing the price up to ridiculous sums.
Just a thought!

Everton fan what are u doing 6million for pienaar youre asking bought for 3million makes me laugh youre manager is greedy as ever!!!

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Nothing to do with the manager, all transfers are dealt with by Levy. If your club is stupid enough to let a players contract run down that your own fault!

Agree3 Disagree0

Why are you venting your anger towards the supporters of tottenham, I agree sometimes levy does over value players but your chairman let his contract run down, so go blame him...

Agree2 Disagree0

Dear Everton fan , if you want him so badly just pay the price or p**s off , simple as that . Hard to understand I know , but you want , you pay .
