Ceballos was supposed to join today. Leandro was supposedly a Spurs player before he signed a contract. I'm getting really angry with this $%% . Don't mislead us anymore - only tell us the truth when you're 100% sure, not 80%. Really, really depressed. {Ed008's Note - Ceballos did sign today :/ Did i not explain that to you lot when i informed you of this news i tried to find info about this deal until i found out last night he signed a contract extension when Internacional offered a bigger wage to stay. It appears that most of our faithful are reaching for the panic button in light of the Modric situation. I'm not so sure that the knee jerk responses are well informed or just those created by blind panic.
1) Levy isn't interested in selling key players, if Modric does end up leaving, it will be on Levy's terms. The player will have to hand in a written transfer request, forfeit all outstanding bonus + contract related payments and in turn Spurs will put a massive price tag on him. If the team that finished 2nd last season want to improve their squad with Modric then they will have to pay top dollar to do so. Other interested clubs will find the negotiations with Spurs easier then Rom(mel)'s plaything.
2) Modric's departure won't result in the sale of Bale, VDV etc. The public reaction to Modric and players like him (Tevez, Fabregas etc) hasn't been at all good and displays a serious detachment from general society which Bale, VDV etc would understand better then Modric's botched attempt at player power.
3) Levy is prepared to invest in the playing squad but struggles with Redknapp's choice of targets, which are generally against the recommendation of club scouts and also his ability to talk to the media about any and everything.

If there is any truth in this, and I will believe it when i see it, the end result will all depend on the supporters. I have little faith in football supporters per se, the Man Utd scenario proves a point, mass protests, all those yellow and green scarves/shirts sold and for what? The ground still gets filled every other week. So Levy wants to sell our best players for a profit? Why? To build a bigger stadium? Why? Wont he have lost 90% of the clubs supporters by selling our best players? How would the club fill the new stadium? This is the primary reason i suspect that a lot of b*llocks is being talked. Levy is far from stupid, he cannot afford to sell our best players, the club will go into a nosedive and he will be public enemy no1. The issue is whether we will continue to go to the lane if he does, i suspect that enough will for any protest to fall on its face. Im afraid its the fickle supporter that holds the key, not the chairman, not harry and certainly not Modric.

You need to do some more reserach, in terms of major honours won Spurs are the fifth most decorated, you can verify this on any sporting web site you choose, major honours in this case include 1st div/prem league title, F.A cup, League cup or any european trophy.
As you don't have the guts to tell us which team you are defending its not really possible to asceratain wether or not you have been more successful than Tottenham and I seem to remember, albeit not a great deal to brag about but still more than Arsenal in last six years, winning the league cup three years ago and beating Chelski in the final.
I don't know where your getting this information from about Spurs not being a worldwide leading brand but you're certainly mis-guided, you should also look up which English team were the first to lift any European silverware.
Can't remember either last time Spurs were involved in a relegation scrap come the end of the season but still if you view success as savouring fourth instead of having ambition to go on and do better like Liverpool or Arsenal do every season fair enough.

With the Leandro saga now cleared up and him signing a new contract and with all the issues surrounding Modric the mercenary, I was wondering can we actually expect any new signing in the near future or are we destined to get left behind by the rest of the league?
I personally dont see losing Modric as a big loss. We just have to look at how Sunderland reacted to losing there best player (Before everyone jumps all over that, in now way am I saying Henderson is anywhere near as good as Modric but he was arguably Sunderlands best midfielder). They just sold for a top price and brought in several good young players who will improve the team as a whole.
