I don't get why people can't see that our obvious weak link isn't cb isn't cm or upfront its in the wide areas. we have no winger who stays wide and attacks teams with pace and gets in behind e.g. hazard he stays wide runs at teams with pace and cause problems we don't have that no point having townsend and chadli cutting in cramping the space in the middle for kane and eriksen and leaving no options out wide other than full backs who then get caught out of position need at least one winger who stays wide and provides and outlet.

I agree we lack width game played differently now they all want to play in the middle, like chadli and Townsend, always come in and get caught with the ball, would be nice to see two old fashioned wingers running down the by line putting the ball in the box for others to score . Lennon was fast but needed to work on final delivery but now on the fringes . Need a couple of cliff jones .

We have terrible width problems but surely Mopo is partly to blame! He plays inverted wingers! All he has to do is play them in their proper roles.! tell them what he wants from them, and if they don't produce the goods, get rid!
What about Carlos Gill,? From Valencia? Young, cheap ( 5 mill ) good on the right wing!

Yes and no you could clearly see he was trying to keep townsend out wide but they guy has no brain and constantly drifts in I don't even think we need 2 natural wingers just one who can maintain the width and provide options. because the full backs have to push so high up it always leaves our wings open for attack hence our full backs look rubbish. nothing worse than playing full back and having no one infront of you to help defend. personally I would love konoplyanka, salah, ntep or depay. crystal palace beat us because they always had a winger out wide stretching the play who wasnt scared to run at our defence.

So a couple weeks ago we're making great progress and Mopo is a genius, and now we have big problems and he is to blame?

Hazard cuts in a lot. He did against us and he did against Southampton. You can't say that this itself is the problem.

Different teams will play against us differently, and this is a part of the learning curve and chemistry. Some teams will attack us and be open (Chelsea), whilst others will not (Stoke, West Brom, Palace). At the moment we are only just getting to grips with our plan A. Plans B and C will take some time, and a couple more players.

Have patience.

Gil is going to Villa.

We've been struggling with the bus parkers for more than a while now. Any team that digs in and gets players behind the ball has has caused us problems going back to AVB's first season. Magic moments from Bale saved us a few times that season.

Today wasn't a good day and the penalty which definitely shouldn't have been given changed it. Even though we are inundated with central midfielders it seems none of them with the exception of Mason and Bentaleb seem to be able to put a shift in. Vertonghen does a job but fazio doesn't seem to be able to read the game and gets caught out of position far to often. Kyle Walker even though he has just come back from an injury is the shell of the person he was from the first full season with us, Danny Rose is a tryer but is never going to reach the standard spurs need and with Harry Kane the only striker bangin in goals it's worrying if he gets a knock who can we call upon. Lloris and Kane seem to be the shining lights and the one's keeping us in the mix

I don't know why people keep bangin on about the penalty, it was a tough call but watching it back the ref got it spot on. I personally think Fazio is a weak link, Stamboli played ok I thought he showed passion he's also still getting to grips with the PL, he can pass with both feet & has a football brain. Erikson didn't play to well yesterday.
I've said for months now Dembele should be on the transfer list anyway, I don't see what impacts he ever has on a game. I also though Townsend was poor, I'm also not a fan of Lamela, I would personally put a bid in for Adam Johnson.
