Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not that you lot are bitter lmao

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on Valley, is that the best you have got mate?

You have nothing over Arsenal have you?
you have to talk about a player who didn't even play for Spurs when he scored against us, he played for Real Zaragoza at the time mate.

Come on Valley mate. No offence, but try a little harder fella.

Here's what I want the club to do.

1. KEEP TIM.

2. Resign Caulker from Cardiff.

3. Get rid of that rat Baldini.

4. Give Tim money to spend in the summer.

5. Rebuild our great British tradition with British players.

6. Give some of our youngsters a go (Kane, Cloulibaly, McEvoy etc)

7. Make White Hart Lane the most atmospheric stadium in England, like it used to be under HR.

8. This season, finish 7th.

Thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How about this:

9. Sell eight or so of your fringe players and with the money made, buy a good player. Someone like Bale.

Agree0 Disagree0

Uhh no.

A squad needs to be built.

Those summer signings were such a flop. The only ones I'd keep are Eriksen, Chiriches and Soldado. I'd sell Lamela, Paulinho, Chadli.

Agree0 Disagree0

Here's my take ( sorry Wulf )
Get rid of Tim and sign a manager!
Get rid of Dawson, Chadli, Siggs, Naughton, Kane, Paulinho .
Sign a left back urgently!
Agree, give Coulibally a chance along with others!
Use Bentaleb sparingly!
Don't sign Milner or Barry, ( which Tim would )

Agree0 Disagree0

This season we will finish 5th-7th, I'd say 7th would be best to avoid Europa League but, you just send the youth/reserve side in it's totality to start with, no messing around with taking the Prem first team to Ukraine, Moldova and furthest Russia on a Thursday night during group phase, just don't do it! I know it's another way into Champions League but if you can't get through the group stage with a second string then you'll have already shot your league campaign to bits with disruption and fatigue ending up with dodgy Sunday results.
Agree with Davo's outs although I feel one of Sigs or Chadli is worth keeping, I think Chadli has something in there as a squad player and Sig has popped up with big goals before.
I'm not sure Paulinho can come good, also nicked the odd goal which our midfielders generally never do, but is sooooo slow it's unreal. I've heard of getting up to speed in the Premier League but he is a mile off.
Lamela is a tricky one, a Serie A side will probably still stump up £20m+ as it stands but, if he stays and is no good next year he'll be worth jack-all.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we really want British get Harry back, tactically he wasn't a genius but at least we saw dynamic football. Otherwise Van Gaal is THE man for me. Huge experience, great coach and a big name. I guess keep Sherwood and concentrate on Carling Cup while he learns the job for a couple of years if those options aren't a goer. Got to accept we're going nowhere for a while if he stays in the seat, it's not slating him, it's reality because we're in total flux across the squad already and will be again in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think Dawson is the long term answer Davo, just that you unfairly pick him out as being at fault when it was other people. Agree that he is not a first team player for next year, but I'd keep him at the club as you don't want too much player turn over.

RB - Keep Walker and keep Naughton as a backup (he's not great but does a job).

CB - Need a new 1st choice CB alongside Verts (make him stay). Sell Kaboul as he is too injury prone but good enough to have some market value.

LB - Need a new LB as well (only 4 years we've all been saying this). Will Rose be second choice? Sunderland might still want him.

The rest depends on the style we play. I'm going to be optimistic and assume we get LVG; Tim has potential but this is too soon for him. Also LVG would be a good fit for us as he likes an attacking style whilst having a tactical understanding. I'll assume also that he will play 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3 style.

DCM - Sandro with Capoue to back up. Easy one this I think.

CM - You need someone that can keep the tempo high; taking the ball off the DCM and distributing quickly. Requires good passing and creativity. For me this is a job for Eriksen or Carrol.

ACM - Dembele should play here. His ability to beat a man is wasted playing as far back as he has been asked to. I'd have Holtby as the backup as he's also creative enough to link up. I'd have picked Lamela over Holtby but I just don't think he will settle (it pisses me off that clubs don't give players assistants to help them with the small things like CEO's / Directors have; you could get an assistant for a year for what you pay these players a week).

Wide Mid - Lennon and?. Townsend I think will never be more marketable than after the WC, and Chadli's inverted winger style I think won't suit us. So we'll need to sign.

ST - Adebayor is getting over his nightmare year and I think he is good enough to keep. But he lacks consistency so you'd not want to rely on him alone. Benteke is a good shout if you are playing one up, or Lukaku though we'd of course never sign him. Basically someone Adebayor-like so you can rotate. If we get our crossing right then there is a place for Soldado as well, and it gives you the option of up front so keep him also. Sell Kane as there are better youngsters coming through.

Also to go:
Siggs - 3rd choice ACM, feel sorry for the guy being played wide so often tho.
Paulinho - tricky as I don't see how he can be good for Brazil but not good for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Must say that I agree with you on practically everything there! Would love either Bentenke or Lukaka! Not sure Vert will stay, like you I would make him, but a good World Cup and we can double his price! Left back is so urgent though, but if Tim stays we will end up with Benny coming back! Can't see Levy backing him in the transfer market at all, but then neither would I .

Agree0 Disagree0

There was some thought we had a clause in the Caulker deal giving us the option to buy him back if Cardiff got relegated, which looks more likely than us being top 4.

Anyone know if this rumor has any chance of being true?

Hey, all we have to do is win all the games we have left and we will have a great season. It's all to play for.

Beat Benfica, beat Arsenal and the sun will be shining again!

COYS

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We will not win those 2 games I don't think. Might beat Benfica because we're at home and nick a draw from the other mob at best. Just my opinion, would take a win Sunday as one plus from the season.

Tim Sherwood is without any shadow of a doubt THE RIGHT MAN

He tells it like it is. He gets mad, he gets angry. His commitment is written all over him.

That is not his Team or his players, he is doing the best he can with what he has.

If Daniel Levy has half a brain he will let this Guy have the time he deserves.

I personally don't want to ever see another Foreign coach/manager, director of football or any more of this nonsense.

what happened on Saturday was sheer total BAD LUCK, nothing more, nothing less.

BACK SHERWOOD and make sure that in the next two games we become the 12th man whatever happens on the pitch. Let Arsenal FEEL AND KNOW THAT WE DESPISE THERE VERY EXISTENCE.
coys

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There is doubt.

Agree0 Disagree0

We will always back the team, through whatever results, used to it now! But I hope Levy gets a manager in at the end of the season . I don't think any of the top six team chairman would take on a manager with NO managerial experience, but then we do have Levy for a chairman!

Agree0 Disagree0

First of all anyone can say the right words and get angry and make it seem like they have passion but if the players are not listening what good is that?

Second of all I think it has been well documented that Sherwood wasn't Levy's first choice as he tried to get a "bigger" name in and was told he needed to wait till the summer so that's what he's doing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed - back the team regardless. And back the man whilst he's in the job. He got the extra year so he wasn't made out to be a Benitez caretaker, and that was the right thing to do. I think he'll be very good one day, but that day is a way off.

I was impressed with Vert today coming out and explaining things. I think he is one of the people Tim was talking about.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why does everyone lose their grip on reality whenever we are beaten? Verts made a mistake, he is human. The penalty was not a penalty twitter overloaded with fans of all clubs saying it was not a penalty. So we lose a goal and a player, then Dawson gets injured and goes off. Same against City. Dawson goal disallowed, would have been 1 - 1 player sent off incorrectly, later red withdrawn as no doubt Kaboul will be. It's a total nonsense. Yes the players we brought in for Bale are largely dross but I get sick to the back teeth of reading posts on the web that say "Spurs rue letting Bale leave" like we had some sort of choice in it. Yes If I were Levy I would have made him honour his contract and lump it. But I am not.

In heaven's name back Tim Sherwood. We do not want another worthless clueless foreign coach, sorry they are all rubbish. Jose is not a good coach. He is a man working for clubs that have billions to spend on the best players in the world so what's clever about that? Give Sherwood the same budget and see what happens.

Tim Sherwood is one of us. He gets mad, he gets angry, he tells it like it is. Why keep it in the dressing room / I want it the words "GUTLESS" used in the public domain because half of those players are so Tim is saying what most Spurs fans think and about time too!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm sorry Chris but you are talking out your backside

How on earth can you say Jose isn't a good manager. He didn't have millions at Porto. Everyone in the game around the workd has respect for him are they all wrong?

As for the Penalty. If this was at the other end of the pitch we would be saying (we should have had a penalty)

With regards to Gareth Bale. There's a boy a Liverpool who also wanted to leave (They stood firm) & look what's happened there (So yes we did have a choice) he was employed by THFC

As I've stated here before. Don't wait until after the game to slate the players. The game is 90 minutes long. So Tim has the chance to get his views across during the match, he must have been talking to Sigurðsson because he didn't touch the ball from the 1st whistle.

As for the mistakes. It's every week now Chris. Tim get's angry because he's not a proven manager (He must question his own decisions) furthermore has to take some blame himself.
I'm not saying Tim is a bad manager but he needs to learn his trade at another club. Norwich would be a good start for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would that be the same Porto that were managed by AVB? He won everything with Porto did he not. So name me a team that the Special one ever managed where he did not have a bottomless pit of money to indulge his over inflated ego? There is nt one mate. He is not a genius. Send him to the Lane now would he make a difference? Of course not, he would be crying out for money within a couple of games.

If you read my post you will see that I WOULD NOT have sold Bale, I would have made the greedy little S**T sit in the stands till he stopped acting like a spoilt child and made him honour every last hour of his Contract BUT reality is Levy see's pound signs and at the end of the day what is the good of a player that does not want to play for you?

Experience mate is an overrated commodity. Is Chris Hughton experienced? Yes. Is he successful? No. So what is Tim Sherwood going to learn at Norwich? How to be unsuccessful?

Tim Sherwood has the one thing missing in every Spurs manager since Venables left and that is COMMITMENT and like me and most of our fans when we lose it HURTS and he shows it. I'll take that over your "EXPERIENCE" any day.

What mistakes every week? You obviously live in the same fantasy world as Mr Alan Brazil. I had to listen today to him spouting about what a great "passer" Huddlestone has become at Hull City, like as if "How could Tottenham have let him go "

Every one's a world beater when they leave the Lane. Yeah right.

The simple fact is that this squad is basically woefully short on skill or Premier league experience. Almost totally lacking in spirit or commitment to care about the badge or the fans. We are not owned by an Oligarch or A Sheik, we are owned by a man who runs the Club as a viable business and as far as that goes it is a success. And it does not matter too much to him if we finish top four or not.

That's the reality DR.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would that be the same AVB who did nothing at Chelsea as Jose hasn't done nothing at Chelsea has he. You could argue that he spent money but you still need to manage (BIG) players, I think Mark Hughes spent a lot of money at City did he win anything NO. Look at Real Madrid spend millions every year still doesn’t guarantee you success you still need the right man charge (That’s the reality) & Tim is NOT that.
If you think Mourinho is a crap manager you are clearly deluded.
You learn experience as you do in any role of life & if you’re good at your job success will come with that.
If you haven’t seen individual mistakes over the last few weeks you need your eyes testing
After registering 3 vs Chelsea, Spurs have now made 13 defensive errors leading to goals in the PL this season, more than any other club. (That’s the reality Chris)

Agree0 Disagree0

Mourinho is a good manager.

He is a good coach - his players play better for him than they do for others. Look at how much better Chelsea have been individually this season.

He is a good man manager - he creates a fortress atmosphere where his players trust him and play out of their skin for him. Look at the number of difficult personalities and dressing rooms he has controlled (he dropped Casillas!).

He is a very good tactician - when things are not working he corrects them to his advantage. Look at how in both games against us this season he made a tactical half time change to bring on a more creative player and what a difference that made to the games.

You not being able to recognise that really undermines your argument I think. What of the above does Tim have? Maybe he has the potential to do so, but he's in too deep.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry had to laugh about worthless foreign coaches! Apart from SAF, who was Scottish, can you name any English coaches in the last ten years who were on a par with Jose, Pelligrini, Mancini, Pep, etc etc, don't think so .
As for TS in the transfer market, why didn't he buy a left back . The word going around is he told Levy we didn't need one! I for one have always stated that if you don't want to sell a player on a long term contract, don't . Stand firm, and if they keep on, stick them in the reserves . They will soon get fed up not getting the attention and bonuses they crave . If they want to act like a spoilt Bale, sorry Brat, leave them in the reserves,!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry mate, maybe you should go and support Chelsea if Mourinho is so wonderful, gifted and clever.

I think you ll find he is on a tad more than Tim Sherwood is

Playing out of their skins for him? It's all about money. Chelsae players on much more dough than Spurs squad no comparison, sure he's buddy buddy with Terry and Lampard.

So he dropped Casilles at RM, do you know why? because anyone who he dislikes for any reason get's the cold shoulder, the RM fans disliked him

He is the biggest egotistical Bull S**ter that ever sat in a dugout and without a wealthy club/owner to indulge him he is a nobody. He is not fit to lick Fergies shoes

So what we get yet another great foreign manager at Spurs like eh.let me see Mr Gross, Mr Ramos, the French geezer Santini? Come on hit me with some great Spurs Foreign coaches to have graced the lane dugout.

We need stability not another close season wrought with angst of a new coach and new players so we start another season with a team full of strangers

Agree0 Disagree0

Problem is Chris, we need a manager not someone cutting their teeth in the job . I know TS is Spurs through and through, but we need more than that! As I said above, show me a English manager that's done good, or been employed un experienced by a top six team! Might be difficult!

Agree0 Disagree0

Chris,

You need to get with the programme son. Go & support Chelsea. why do that when I've supported the mighty spurs for over 40 years.

So now you tell me what english managers have achieved over the last 40 years in the top flight of english football not Scottish. there's not many,
Bob Paisley, Howard Kendall, Howard Wilkinson. On the english side of things personally I would have kept Harry I really would have.

As for the money, our players get paid enough don't you think all the players are f**king over paid & 1/2 the english players under achieve we only need to look at the national team. (Please don't say go & support Portugal)

As for the pally pally isn't that how to get the best out of players that's called man management.

For Casillies again if someone isn't working the way you want them to you drop them / sack them what ever you want to call it. ask Mata that's called management.

I totally agree fella we need stability but we also need to find the right manager I think Tim is passionate & I like the bloke but he is ready to manage a club like spurs yet. In my opinion he's not & neither is any other english manager.
