Any whispers on potential in ns and outs in the last few days? Seems like a few are being moved on finally.

R91

{Ed002's Note - Potential departures, some as loans:
Sergio Reguilon (LB) Not happy and wants to return to Madrid. Enquiry from Brighton. Loan to Atletico.
Japhet Tanganga (CB) Milan want a loan but that does not suit Spurs without an obligation to buy.
Harry Winks (DM/CM) Spurs told interested sides last summer that he was not for sale but if the player were to ask to leave the coach would be supportive of that. If West Ham were to sell Rice they might offer an option - as perhaps Manchester United might as a possible Matic replacement. Leicester might also be a possible destination if they were to lose Ndidi, but they have a preferred target in mind. Southampton, Sevilla and Crystal Palace have declared an interest. He would provide an interesting option for Everton but they would need departures first. Offered to Leeds. Will likely leave in the summer. Loan to Sampdoria.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (CM) Newcastle have a declared interest. Real Madrid may ask for a loan which could be attractive to the player. Conte is very keen to keep him.
Bryan Gil (W) Marseille and Sampdoria want a loan. Valencia are keen.

In terms of possible arrivals, a late offer for a CB perhaps. Want Trevoh Chalobah but that won't happen with other departures at Chelsea. Ilya Zabarnyi of Dinamo Kiev might then be an option.
James Garner (DM) Could push to leave as their is no future mapped out. Nottingham Forest may still look to a permanent transfer after promotion. Southamton are a potential option as they look to competition for Oriol Romeu. Everton have prefered options but may be a solution. Spurs are perhaps a possibility. Leeds interest has gone after signing another. Manchester United may look to a loan rather than a sale.
Ruslan Malinovskyi (AM) wanted by Spurs who will pay more than Marseille - but they will give more game time. Not interested in Nottingham Forest.
Adama Traore (RW) I suspect he will stay where he is, but Conte has an interest.
Daniel James (RW) Leeds could be tempted by a reasonable offer. Spurs and Crystal Palace have an interest.}

Any talk on the safety of Mourinhos job. Seems some serious unrest, not just with the fans but also in the squad right now. I'd expect him to see out the season, but it's been a hard watch (not that that comes as a surprise)

R91

{Ed002's Note - I don't want to get in to the issue too much but Spurs have taken advice from a third-party over managerial options in the future. It does not mean anything will happen immediately.}

Not expecting much in January, but any updates on players being looked at or players being allowed to move on ed?

Happy new year all.

R91

{Ed002's Note - Don't expect much in January. Before the start of next season a GK, CB and versatile RW are the main priorities. In the perfect world Mr Mourinho would like Henderson, Skriniar and Sabitzer.

Dean Henderson (G) A potential HL replacement in the summer - he is interesting Spurs.
Milan Skriniar (CB) Expensive option - but first choice.
Merih Demiral (CB) His agent wants a foothold in the English market and has offered the player to Liverpool and Spurs - Juventus want €50M which seems too high.
Gian Marco Ferrari (CB) wanted as cover by Spurs and Inter.
Roger Ibanez (CB) Roma will buy the player on June 30 at the end of his loan - with Leicester, Spurs and Porto keen on taking the player then if Roma want to turn a profit.
Ozan Kabak (CB) has been of past interest to both Manchester sides, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich but the asking price has always been see as high, although it seemed to be something between €35M and €40M it will have reduced due to the pandemic and Schalke having financial issues. The interest of the Manchester sides went when he left Galatasaray for Stuttgart and he hit an age where he could never qualify as Home Grown in England - and that is something Liverpool should concern themselves with as well. I am not so sure he is the starter Liverpool have been looking for, but he will be cheaper than both Llorente and Diego Carlos and could still push Joe Gomez into the background. He is well thought of by Borussia Dortmund who wanted Tanguy Kouassi as a replacement for Toprak and Belardi but he moved to Bayern Munich resulting in their making an approach and being told he is not for sale - but their declared an interest will now have gone after his disgusting behaviour. Schalke say they have also been approached by Juventus and Leicester in addition to Spurs who also made an approach in the summer. A far better option for Liverpool than Mandi but Schalke, who were reluctant to sell, will let him leave after his five game ban and the huge backlash there has been over him spitting at an opponent from Werder Bremen at the time of the pandemic. A foul human being.
Ben White (CB) an alternative to Pau Torres for Manchester United, but seen as expensive because of the "English premium". Spurs have sustained interest but the funding will go on other priorities. Brighton will look to hang on to him.
Sami Khedira (CM/DM) Will be allowed to leave Juventus in January. The player says he is keen to work with Ancelotti again - it is unclear if Everton would look to him - makes little or no sense. Spurs may offer a solution for 18 months.
Lucas Vazquez (RW) Spurs were talking with Real Madrid in the summer as the price is seen as affordable but player wished to stay and has rejected a move to Qatar - but a new contract has not been agreed as was expected - Leeds and Milan might be interested. Much will depend on what happens with Gareth Bale.
Leon Bailey (LW/RW) A player who has had his mojo drifting away and Bayer Leverkusen are open to moving on this winter. Spurs are keen but want the price to drop further. Prior interest of Everton and Leeds has drifted away - Everton already being over loaded with players who are predominently LW and Leeds have preferred options. Arsenal may offer an option.
Paulo Dybala (AM/F) is available to sell or trade as the situation degrades further as again a problem with Paratici arises - but the club want to agree a new deal but scratch the clause which is causing the problem. The original issue that blighted contract negotiations would be an issue for potential buyers. The player is open to a move and may well have thrown away a year of his career. Available at €100M last summer, would need to halve to find a cash buyer.
Marcel Sabitzer (RW/AM/CM) RBL again expect approaches in January. Milan may try again to put a package together. Interest from Jose Mourinho at Spurs remains but a decision would need to be taken over Gareth Bale.
Gareth Bale (RW/F) Wages would be the issue.
Kyle Joseph (S) Sottish kid wanted for the U23s
Potential departures:
Hugo Lloris (G)
Paulo Gazzaniga (G) available in January
Danny Rose (LB) Spurs want to buy him out of his contract for half of the value that remains. Rose will be happy to become a Free Agent but wants the full amount paid up. Available in January.
Harry Winks (DM/CM) Spurs have told interested sides he is not for sale.
Gedson Fernandes (RM) will probably let him return to Benfica in January and pay up his loan - the loan has not worked out for anyone.
Dele Alli (AM) PSG are open to taking him on an initial loan in January - Spurs want him to see out the season and have no intention of letting him leave on loan.
Carlos Vinicius (S) Spurs are unlikely to take up their option and he will continue his journeyman ways.

hi ed. Noticed on some other pages you've been shedding some light on interest of players. Wondering if you could give give js in or out activity interet/ acfivity at spurs

Hopefully get some more readers on the site.

R91

{Ed002's Note - Sure. It is tough to understand what money will be available and it looks like, with one exception, a summer of a few replacements:
Out Perhaps:
Toby Alderweireld (CB)
Danny Rose (LB)
Mousa Dembele (M)
Erik Lamela (RW)
Fernando Llorente (S)

Being looked at:
Ryan Sessegnon (LB) - looks unlikely at this time
Layvin Kurzawa (LB) - will be available at a good price, and Spurs are very keen
Jonny Evans (CB) - I expect Spurs will push for a deal
Jonathan Tah (CB) - it looks unlikely
Abdoulaye Doucoure (M) - seen as a suitable replacement for Dembele
Mateo Kovacic (M) - I am not sure that Spurs would continue to look at Kovacic should another right winger arrive - although he could be seen as a more versatile option to Lamela whereas the RWs being looked at are more traditional and would need to vie with Lucas Moura for a place.
Andrija Zivkovic (AM) - another versatile alternative to Lamela - but there is interest from elsewhere and price could be a major issue
James Maddison (AM) - the player should think very carefully if he is looking to move to the PL, and Leicester will give him playing time that Spurs may struggle to do, but very much a MP type of player
Wilfried Zaha (RW) - there is long-term interest and Spurs could again return.
Suso (RW) - seems unlikely, but they have looked at Suso.
Malcom (RW) - He has been looked at and is available.
Gareth Bale (F) - Will be offered to Manchester United and most definately for sale. Concerns will be over fitbness and price but Real Madrid would be open to a deal involving Toby Alderweireld - and It is the sort of thing that Spurs may look to do to placate the fans in what might be a couple of tight years financially
Jann-Fiete Arp (S) - Spurs have been very keen but it looks very likely that a move elsewhere has been tentatively agreed already
Paco Alcacer (s) - Alcacer is again attracting attention but game time will be key to any move.}

1.) 21 Apr 2018 14:36:49
Thank you Ed! Much appreciated!

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

2.) 21 Apr 2018 14:41:46
Would the move for Jan Fiete Arp be to Bayern, Ed?

{Ed002's Note - They are discussing terms.}

13 Dec 2013 09:34:37
Ed I've noticed on a couple of occasions you've spoken that Spurs have a made an error in signing Lamela, is this due to the finances or just that the lad isn't ready and possibly won't be for a long time?

I understand that you won't want to go into detail but it just interested me that's all

R91

{Ed002's Note - It was a significant mistake as I explained previously. There is little point going in to detail as it upsets folks who see him as the second coming.}

1.) I know there will always be people that don't agree with what you say, and won't accept your opinion. I'll try and have a look through and see what you explained previously.

2.) Ed002 who cares if some folk get upset i'm sure they will cope. I and I expect others would appreciate it if you could breifly explain as I am very curious. Thanks in advance.

3.) Hi Ed 002, I have just been through the last 2 pages of rumours looking for posts replied to by yourself concerning Lamela. I would be very interested to read your opinion of why he was a bad buy?. I think he has great potential, but at £30m was way too expensive so agree that financially, it could be a bad buy and could be money wasted. When you look at Bale and Walcott to name just 2, £15m seems to be the most we should pay for potential.
Cheers, Matt.

{Ed002's Note - The reasons are unimportant. It is not worth the grief to explain.}

4.) Would like to know your explanation why Edd?

So how we feeling it is going at the moment? Couple in the door early makes a change, and still on the look out with some good looking targets in positions that I think we all know are needed. I think Bissouma is a top player.

RWB, CB, back up forward and another midfielder.

Eds got any opinion on how they think things are looking down at the lane? Always nice to see an outsiders view over the tinted glasses too.

R91

{Ed001's Note - it is looking good, though it is a short term policy in the main, Bissouma aside, as Conte wants players in that will be ready to go. He likes the older ones that will win now, but long term it can leave the club in desperate need of a rebuild a year later. But would anyone care if Conte builds to win for one season only, so long as you win a big trophy in that season? I would think you would all take that and worry about the following season afterwards!

I have to say I think Bissouma looks like signing of the season if he stays fit and in form. What a player he is! That is a real bargain especially as he will get a rest during the World Cup.}

Seems to finally be a bit of activity at spurs. Any news on ins and outs ed?

R91

{Ed002's Note - I can answer specific questions but not general questions.}

21 Dec 2019 23:25:40
Ed1, interested to hear your views on Todd Cantwell? Seems to be a bright spark in this Norwich team at the moment, but unsure if he is ready for a big step up.

R91

{Ed001's Note - bit lightweight for my liking. Has the ability but I have seen him bottle a couple of challenges, which to me is a big no-no, especially in this era when you don't have to worry about full-blooded tackles. If he was braver, he would defo be ready for a step up, but that bravery issue bothers me.}

1.) 22 Dec 2019 10:45:16
We should have got Jack grealish when we had the chance, he's top quality.

26 Aug 2014 11:06:26
Could we have turned a corner, a decent performance after a Europa game!

R91

1.) Let's see how we get on this weekend, if we play like we did against QPR we will score against the reds, but if we defend like we did against QPR we will concede also. Going to be playing a different class of opposition.

We seem to push our highline to far up and get caught with balls through and over the top leaving space for the likes of Sturridge and Sterling to break into . and let's not forget Balotelli will likely make a first appearance for at least part of the game and then anything could happen.

15 Apr 2014 11:25:37
I would really enjoy Poccetino at Spurs.

He plays attractive football and the way the team is set up, high pressing, and a keep the ball style. This is what I want my Spurs playing, not the dross at the moment.

Ship out a few people that look like they couldn't care less, and see what we can really do. Obviously wouldn't be disappointed in Van Gaal, but am now thinking that due to his age, will probably only be around for 2 or so years, and then we're back to square one.

The only downside for Poccetino for me, is I don't want to see my manager with a translator! but we can't have it all can we!

Cheers for the update ed, you know we appreciate the info you can pass on
Also just for your opinion what do you think of Mason and Bentaleb this season and Eriksens development, like to hear your opinion in a comparison with Coutinho also?

Also if you're still up, may or pacman?

R91

{Ed001's Note - I think both Mason and Bentaleb have grown impressively this season, just shows what can happen when players are given a chance. Both look capable of filling the midfield roles for years to come, if the club can keep hold of them, which isn't certain as Man City like Mason.

Eriksen has become far better than I expected, some players wither when they step up to a tougher league, he has stood up and taken responsibility. That is what has impressed me most, his willingness to stand up and be counted. He shows great character to go with the ability and that will take him far.

I really hope Pacman knocks the disrespectful wife beating prcik out cold and ends his career tonight, but I expect Mayweather to grind out a win on points. Sadly.}

I couldn't wish a nicer person on Arsenal. I know his talent is fantastic, but if anyone could f**k up a dressing room, he's got to be your guy

I think Hulk was more the media trying to put 2 and 2 together with Hulk & AVB and believe that without AVB there isn't even the smallest chance.

his wages would make anyone in our team look miniscule, and don't think he is as good as hyped

Spitting at another person is terrible full stop. If the footage was Carragher reacting, arguing with a few gestures and insults, yeah ok that’d be forgotten about, but spitting at another human is not on in any circumstance.

I like firmino but they're completely different players, I'd have firmino over son if we were talking the forward role. But as a wide player would take son.

First I've heard, out of interest Ed, what's the proposal?
