Hi Eds, any truth to the rumours that Steven Defour is angling for a move to Spurs? Think he would be great addition, if the club didn't already have so many midfielders.

Hass

{Ed002's Note - There is interest from other clubs in Defour but he is looking for a move to a higher profile club than is interested.}

1.) So Spurs?

{Ed002's Note - He is not fussy.}

2.) Haha.

Hi Eds, any truth in the Paulinho to Real Madrid rumours?
And if the club could negotiate a large fee for him, what are peoples thoughts on him going?

Hass

{Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware, he is not for sale, Baldini really likes him.}

1.) I got a feeling someone from the midfield is going with the amount of time Bentaleb is getting. Wouldn't be surprised to see one of Holtby or Capoue going in January.

2.) I would expect that it's more likely Bentaleb would be loaned out. Capoue I can't see leaving as he offers a lot and Holtby, I really hope not. He's going to become a top player.

3.) I suspect Sherwood is more comfortable with Bentaleb having seen him playing in the academy teams. He knows what to expect from the player.

4.) Big difference between Academy teams and a proven international like Capoue though!

5.) Obviously not in Sherwood's eyes though davo.
I think he is gone in the summer and he knows it. He is making a statement in my opinion.

6.) No argument Davo, but looking at the players Sherwood has been bringing in and has introduced on the bench, he is backing his academy players to keep him the job. May or may not be a good strategy, but if he has faith in them and they repay him . at least there will be players out there that care and bleed THFC for a change. Could be a good thing only time will tell.

7.) True, they will fight for their places, but are they good enough? Keep hearing about Harry Kane, but he wasn't good enough for the teams we loaned him to, and is definitely not good enough for PL top ten teams!

8.) Kane may not be the best example I agree, but Fredricks and Bentaleb look like they have the ability.

9.) 02 Jan 2014 12:39:51
Hello fellow spurs fans just thought I would put my view point on transfers on here, which I think need to be sorted sonner rather than later.

Players to leave kaboul I personally really like him but he just hasn't been fit enough to play enough games and we have been left short in defence because of this. naughton who just isn't good enough to play for tottenham but maybe an ok back up for walker. gomes may as well go. To be honest I don't rate fryers either well not as a left back he's not fast enough and just looks better built to be a CB. benny who has done well for Tottenham but I think he's burnt a lot of bridges with the club

Players to come in I would like to see another CB a left back as I do not believe in play jan LB when he's by far the teams best CB I would also like another big striker to come in and that man should be Baftimbi Gomis he got a great work rate and I think he would do well.

I think tottenham have the strongest midfield in the league when all the players are fully fit. Hopefully Hugo gets confidence back soon he's still doing some right things but some odd things when not catching and rushing out. I still think he's the best keeper in the league.

Would like to get some fellow spurs fans ideas just to see if were all on the same wave length.

COYS!

10.) 02 Jan 2014 14:35:20
We just need a striker and that should be Mirko Vucinic!
He maybe doesn't score so many goals but he creates them instead and I think him and adebayor would match perfectly. One thing is for shore, he won't be worser than soldado .

11.) Definitely not Gomis he's the poor mans Benteke!

12.) Vucinic plus cash for Lamela?

Hi Eds. Can you confirm if Spurs are actively interested in the following players for the January window:
Honda
Benteke

Also can you see any current Tottenham players leaving in the January window. Am thinking players like Lennon, Adebayor. Perhaps Holtby on loan?

Keep up the good work! {Ed002's Note - Honda will go to AC Milan. I would see Hernandez as a target - I doubt Benteke will be available. Adebayor will likely go.}

Hass

1.) 09 Nov 2013 10:58:24
yea let's put lennon and holtby on loan to of our first team players great, I can't believe thers spurs fans like this

Eds, have noticed that there is EPL interest in both Eriksen and Alderweireld from Ajax. I know Ed002/008 have explained the Alderweireld situation very clearly but am intrigued if there is any interest from Spurs for Eriksen?
One of the Eds said a few months ago that it was unlikely but a lot of the top teams have already bought Attacking Midfielders ie BVB, Bayern, Real Madrid, Barcelona.
Can you see a bid from Spurs happening? {Ed002's Note - I suspect it might be rather too late. So I will say no.}

Hass

1.) I think dembele can be more attacking this season as we now have paulinho. we don't need no more center mids, a striker and a left back is what we need. benteke or soldado would be nice,

2.) Id rather have Soldado then Benteke, Soldado has more experience and I believe will adapt to the prem league without much trouble.
So for me get him in plus another striker maybe that brazilian guy forgot his name Damaio I believe and maybe a creative player and were all good to challenge for honours.

3.) Benteke signs 4 year contract. with Villa supposedly.

4.) Suprise suprise. bentesky withdraws trnfer request. maybe no one wants a baby like him. yidade

5.) Seeing reports Benteke has signed a new deal with villa so he is out looks like its just soldado now

6.) Benteke has signed a new contract we can all breath a sigh of relief now : ) Watch the Villa fans come on and big him up after a week of slating him and calling him a Judas lol.

7.) Trust me with a good striker up front that can hold the ball up dembele create more assists. The amount of times he played the ball into ade feet but always lost control. I'd prefer soldado too but villa and benteke together would have been perfect what a shame

8.) Oooh Christian Benteke!
Enjoy Adebay-eeor! We have our Bentekkers - jog on spurs!

9.) So bentike used us a leverage to get a better deal. can't blame levy for that one, can't say i'm sorry dident get him as alan sugar would say another carlos kick a ball. barb

10.) Kinda glad this Benteke deal didn't happen but Levy needs to pull his finger out quick as availible strikers are thinning out rapidly. Just pay what's asked for Soldado & Damaio & stop stalling over 1 or 2 million. got to feeling that we'll just end up with Remy on deadline day.

11.) Jog on Villa boy, you enjoy your relegation battle you insecure Brummie pest.

12.) Just sign sign soldado, he is a better bet and more suited th the premiership than negrado, who city just bought.

13.) Agree fully with post. Why are we stalling. city signed Negredo for a reported £20 million and Jovetic for £ 21 million. I would have though they would be more expensive then Soldado? This smells of Levi p---ing around trying to save a few pounds. Surely a bid similar to Jovetic would be accepted! What is Baldini doing? Why is he not signing a striker for us? Starting to look very like last two transfer windows.

The Don

14.) Baldini is going to be the scapegoat, when levy won't sanction bids or is being his usual tight arse self an we end up shopping at last minute.com ending up with Dion Dublin he's got someone to take the blame!

15.) Soldado is good but don't say he is better fitted to the prem than Negredo, Negredo is built for the prem 6ft 1 and he is the one player I regret us not signing, he will be a massive success as city, he scored 25 goals in la liga last year and city will win the league with him and jovetic playing together

16.) Thank the lord benteke has signed a new villa deal, he would have been a massive flop had we payed 25 million for him.

17.) You were all bigging up Benteke the other
Day saying he's making the right decision
To leave villa. Now your all slaging him
Off saying he was never worth it
Typical spurs fans thinking your the best
But when bale leaves you'll be in trouble
Villa til I die

18.) Villa fan - you obviously wasn't reading the posts on this page as most fans were saying they didn't want him. It's funny how you missed the fact your fans were slagging him off and all of a sudden all is forgiven. He's staying at Villa move on to something else now please.

19.) Massive mercenary and if he has done this do you really want him at your club. I for one wouldn't

20.) 20 Jul 2013 12:58:13
having missed out on Benteke, Andy Carroll and now Danny Graham. Spurs are going to have to step up their efforts for a striker with an offer for Billy Sharp or maybe Pogrebnyak. running out of available options.

21.) Villa fan here and I am glad that benteke did not sign for you as I thought he may flop if he goes to you this season but If he has a good season again I think you will snap him up next year

22.) We won't be signing Benteke

23.) He is one dimensional and looked great in a hellishly poor Villa side. If Lambert can get the team playing again, there is a chance Villa might become a team again. When that happens, you watch how average Benteke suddenly looks.

24.) I'm glad we didn't pay an inflated price for Benteke, I don't think he's the striker we needed and I think he needs to be at a lower level PL team where he will get more time and space so Villa will keep a striker who should still get goals for them even if probably not as many as last season and we keep the money for a striker that can work against the tighter defences we face more who can function well with less time and space and carve chances

Hi Eds, is there any truth in the Nelson Oliviera transfer/loan rumours? I read somewhere online that Benfica are touting him out for a 1 year loan to a couple of EPL clubs. {Ed002's Note - I can see interest from Spurs in buying him but right now I am aware of Deportivo wanting a further loan, and loan enquiries from Cardiff and Atletico Madrid.}

Interesting observation from Spurs first 7 matches.

Home:
Lost Chelsea (2-1)
Draw Burnley (1-1)
Draw Swansea (0-0)

Total Points = 1/ 9

Away:
Win Newcastle 0-2
Win Everton 0-3
Win West Ham 2-3
Win Huddersfield 0-4

Total Points = 12/ 12

It is great that away form is so good this year but is anyone here concerned about the home form still? Apart from Dortmund there are still no wins and in essence 4 points have been dropped to weaker opposition (Burnley/ Swansea) and without a very late goal from Chelsea that could have been another point, which would have put Spurs on the same points as the Manchester clubs.

Hass

1.) 01 Oct 2017 10:51:28
Huge home games in October against Bournemouth and Liverpool. 6 points is a must from those 2 games, away to Manchester will be very tricky but will be a good indicator of whether Spurs have title credentials or not.

2.) 01 Oct 2017 13:33:46
Liverpool appear to be our modern-day bogey team Hass. we have some big games coming up.

3.) 01 Oct 2017 13:51:43
Is that a fact NES?

4.) 01 Oct 2017 15:04:52
We always said Wembley would be an issue so I for one am not surprised, we always struggle when teams park the bus even more so at Wembley.
When we play the bigger teams they will come out a lot more so we may see better results very soon. Maybe.

5.) 01 Oct 2017 16:22:03
I know 1 fact Oddbod, you are a 🤡 FACT.

Oddjob, that's the first part of a post that you've got correct that is indeed a Fact.

Great game by Spurs yesterday, I thought Dembele and Wanyama were the difference between the 2 teams. They both bossed the midfield against Coquelin and Xhaka. These 2 both being in form is crucial to Spurs moving up the table.
Where Spurs are short is cover for Dembele, interesting that Schneiderlin isn't getting a game at United. Would anyone take him on a loan as cover?
Was awesome at Southampton a couple of seasons ago and still a French International.

Hass

1.) 07 Nov 2016 20:12:25
Why would they help a direct rival even if you were interested?

2.) 07 Nov 2016 20:24:35
Dembele is the best holding midfielder in the league, also wanyama has been outstanding since joining spurs. I'm becoming more positive for the next few months especially now harry kanes back and we will get alderwereld, Ali, sissoko is returning from a ban and lamela back we will be flying up the table. The only poor player for me yesterday was erriksen again COYS.

3.) 08 Nov 2016 08:13:28
Dembele the best holding midfielder in the league, Sissoko could play for Real Madrid or Barcelona, Kane the best striker in the league! Lol raver has changed his tune again after another draw hahaha.

4.) 08 Nov 2016 10:26:04
Who's better than dembele at Arsenal elbeny or xhaka lol, and Harry Kane is better than any striker at Arsenal that's why he smashes you time after time. Also wodbod don't you know poch has not lost a league game against Wenger and the raver loves it.

5.) 08 Nov 2016 13:24:48
So remind me what you have won with those great players then raver, we have won 2 fa cups with our strikers and holding midfielders!, got into the champions league and got out of the group every year with our players! If they are so great why haven't they at least done that at Spurs? Lol.

6.) 08 Nov 2016 13:28:06
Wenger has played Spurs 49 times won 22 lost 7 and Wodbod is loving it hahaha.

7.) 08 Nov 2016 15:04:22
That's in the past when we were crap under Ramos, hoddle graham etc. But now this team is going from strength to strength, a champions league club, building the biggest club ground in London, and nobody can beat us and are the biggest threat to city and Liverpool in the league and to real Madrid and Barcelona in the champions league.

8.) 08 Nov 2016 19:30:19
Raver - the biggest threat to Real and Barca, are you really talking about us?

We can't get out of our own way at the moment, the only team we are the biggest threat to is ourselfs.

9.) 08 Nov 2016 19:32:59
Lol you are going out of the champions league, someone needs a reality check, the last 7 games you have drawn 5 and lost 2, and that's going strength to strength is it raver?

10.) 08 Nov 2016 19:36:41
Biggest threat to Liverpool and Man City in the league? Out of a possible 12 points you got 4, and that's the biggest threat! Classic raver hahaha.

11.) 08 Nov 2016 20:55:02
I got you biting though wodbod lol, classic raver at is best nevermind ahhh bisto its ahhh raver.

12.) 08 Nov 2016 21:39:38
Still unbeaten in the Premiership which to me says we are hard to beat. This will do me for starters. Only 3 points behind you Oddbod whilst we haven't been playing that well. I think Utd will beat you in your next game.

13.) 10 Nov 2016 14:10:19
Wow that's a shock prediction by Ellis Dee lol.

14.) 10 Nov 2016 15:12:46
Ellis Dee spot on yet again, also hows mad Patrick and Jason jay getting on these days.

15.) 12 Nov 2016 17:09:07
I ain't seen them in ages raver. I got a txt off Patrick about a month ago but I don't live in London no more. You can find him on Twitter @wagawn or @OfficialTopBuzz!

16.) 12 Nov 2016 22:19:35
Thanks Ellis I will check him out, he used to be my favourite mc. I love the girls I really love the women was one of his favourite sayings'

Is it possible that Tottenham will look to sell Dembele in January?
I think it is probably the right decision for Tottenham, but I have a feeling wherever he goes to next he will do very well.

Hass

1.) 17 Nov 2014 23:03:26
He will do well if he plays in his preferred and most affective position as a number 10.

2.) Every man and his dog have seemed to recognise he should be played 20 yards higher up the field, just behind the strikers, well apart from the Spurs coaching staff! I think he would be awesome for us there, instead of just in front back 4. have no doubt wherever he ends up he will be brilliant!

3.) But who would you play at No 10, him or Erikson?

4.) So why exactly would it be the right decision for spurs to sell him? We don't play with a number 10, we play with 3 and he is definitely better than 2 of them!!

23 Oct 2014 22:16:00
Good, much needed result for the team tonight.
Was nice to see Pochettino make 5 or 6 changes rather than 11, to get a bit of consistency in the team.
Thought Capoue had one of his best games tonight.
In terms of the x11, I like the usual top 3 of Lamela, Eriksen & Chadli but would love to see Schneiderlin come in January and play next to Capoue in the central midfield. Would still keep Dembele but just play him instead of Lamela or Eriksen against the bigger teams when a bit more strength is needed.
Kane did really well tonight but a new striker is a priority with Soldado moving on, in my opinion. Not sure who but Benteke or Bony would both be excellent options.
As for the defence, I don't think there is anything wrong with the players that the team has, think it is more of a tactical issue and a ridiculously high line. However, I would move on Chiriches as his confidence has completely gone. An ideal replacement would be Schar, watched him for Basel and looks technically sound and has a bit of pace about him.
Can seriously see Chiriches, Paulinho, Lennon and Soldado all being moved on very soon, perhaps Townsend too if he doesn't get the playing time. Konoplyanka would be a great and affordable replacement.

Hass

1.) A 5-1 win is never bad, but why do I feel like we got away with one. Our back line gets caught out way to often, when will we learn - a better team would have punished us.

2.) 24 Oct 2014 23:45:58
We are creating more chances recently though which is a positive.

I really hope Kane starts on Sunday, he is scoring goals and gaining confidence so I think now is the first time he should be first choice although Soldado played his best for a while against Man City, but he didn't score.

Ha, Perhaps.
However, that new manager may possibly be Pochettino, and the aforementioned manager did express an interesting in signing both Kane and Townsend for Southampton, earlier in the season. This may very well be pure conjecture (please correct me if I am wrong Eds) but nevertheless his and De Boer's development of young, homegrown talent at Southampton and Ajax, respectively, indicates that you may very well be seeing more of Kane in the future.

Major overhaul won't help matters at all. Look what happened after spending £100m.

The quality of the squad is not the problem; the team is lacking tactical organisation and commitment. Both can be sorted with the right manager.

Unfortunately, I can see Lloris, Vertonghen and Paulinho leaving this summer. Replacements will be needed for these players.
If the manager is De Boer next season, then I think some good and realistic targets/swaps:

Lloris >?
Vertonghen > Alderweireld
Paulinho > Blind/Defour
Adebayor > Benteke

Maybe see Caulker come back into the squad too. Am confident with the right tactical management and solid committed players at the core of the team (Caulker, Sandro, Dembele, Eriksen) the team can do some damage next year.

Wasted 100m. There were some turkeys (Soldado, Chiriches, Paulinho) but he also bought Lloris, Vertonghen, Eriksen, Dembele and Lamela. Even Chadli and Holtby were sold on at a profit! Poor attempt at trolling Gunnerbod.

Absolutely agree with that team NS.
Although I think that one of Dier/ Alderweireld will be played in the middle with Wimmer.
Going out of the Europa league at this stage would only be beneficial for Spurs.
I think a good run in the FA cup and a title challenge are the priorities!

Epic fail, Davo.
Although I agree with you on Paulinho, I'm thinking hopefully that Poch is playing him to prove his fitness for prospective buyers in the summer. Probably the same applies to Lamela.
Because, Davo, if you want all these players shifted over the summer then they have to be played so other clubs can scout them!
Just out of interest, would anyone be happy to see Holtby after his season long loan? Think he would shine under the current manager.
