Hi Ed's,

Just after some clarification after the window.
Berehino: I read that we weren't actualy quoted a price by WBA for him, however Spurs felt from conversations a deal could be had. Do you know if that is the case that a price was never quoted to us? Also if negotiations had been going on for a while during the summer what would the logic be in submitting a bid so close to the deadline or am I over simplifying a transfer?
Lloris: Lastly was a move ever really on the cards for Lloris? ssn has a story running that he was settled, however you mentioned a CL team had made an approach earlier in the summer and a french news outlet had an interview I believe which stated Lloris was looking for a move.
Thanks for your input!

Hi Ed's,
Few questions, do you think Bolasie will stay put now due to the death of his dad? As far as you know was Eriksen injured or is there any substance in him moving to Juve? Final question with Wanyama, I read that Soton aren't interested in dealing with Spurs after the alderwerield(spl) transfer. Is there any truth in that as far as you know?

Thanks again for all your work.

Cheers

ConnorPaxton

{Ed002's Note - (a) No. (b) Injured. (c) You need to stop reading Twitter.}

1.) 24 Aug 2015 18:46:55
Very well answered by editor. I believe wanyama or bolasie will be coming to spurs. be one or the other. Berahino will still come to spurs too and eriksen is happy at Tottenham.

2.) 24 Aug 2015 21:40:37
Thanks Ed002

Hi Ed's,

Do you know any details you can say over this alderweireld legal issue? Does this looked to have stopped the deal for us? 2nd is Lacazette an options Spurs are considering and is he speaking with other clubs as far as you know?
Thanks

ConnorPaxton

{Ed001's Note - Atletico invoked the clause but did not stump up the cash, so Saints are saying they get the right to buy him at the agreed price. Spurs have made a bigger offer, which Atletico would prefer to accept, but they need to sort things out with Southampton. Right now they can't agree to sell Alderweireld anywhere without sorting things out with Soton. The issue is that the player wants to go back there, so Atletico just want Southampton to pay more to get him. If they had bought out the clause then the only acceptable offer on the table is Spurs. Personally it seems to be the likeliest that some sort of compromise will be agreed between Atletico and Southampton for Alderweireld to join them for a bit more than the initially agreed fee.}

1.) 06 Jul 2015 21:07:57
Alderweireld wants to join Tottenham and is close to joining.

2.) 06 Jul 2015 21:31:00
Ed001, you are completely wrong. Alderweireld is in London and is due to have a medical. His preference is spurs and that will be proven in the next few days.

{Ed001's Note - if his preference was Spurs it would be done already. He might well end up signing with Spurs, because Saints refuse to up their bid, but he did want to go there, which is what has held up everything. Saints would not be bickering about the clause if he was not keen to go there, as they would just get the buyout and be happy. So no, I am not wrong.}

3.) 06 Jul 2015 22:12:47
He said that in May when Tottenhams interest wasn't known. He wasn't going to say no I don't want to join Soton was he, keeping his options open.

4.) 06 Jul 2015 23:57:17
Thanks Ed001

{Ed008's Note - Have you seen Alderweireld in London then? Or have you been reading Twitter rumours again?

5.) 07 Jul 2015 01:32:55
And what exactly do you know Cognizant. Have a bit of respect for the Eds who clearly know more than you.

6.) 07 Jul 2015 10:40:40
Hi Ed, going back to what I posted earlier, would it not make sense for Atletico to accept both bids and allow the Player to decide? Surely the Player would have the final say on which Team he moves to? So even if Southampton were to get their way the Player could reject negotiations?

{Ed001's Note - it would if Saints were offering anything like as much as Spurs, yes. It is about half the amount though.}

7.) 07 Jul 2015 10:41:46
I would rather that we sign a Player who wants to sign for us then for one who would be Holding out for another Club.

8.) 07 Jul 2015 11:08:48
I just know, couldn't care what you think clankers. It isn't about a lack of respect to the eds I was just saying he is wrong. It's a rumours site and some people have good info believe it or not, many don't but I do.

9.) 07 Jul 2015 11:28:26
Thanks Ed, but at the same time they would probably be better off accepting the higher and lesser deal to avoid what they would have to pay in legal fees etc and then let the Player decide, despite the difference in Transfer fees being offered?

{Ed001's Note - I doubt legal fees would mount up to around £7m!}

10.) 07 Jul 2015 11:47:21
Your right, but time is Money. And it is time wasted on a Player who they do not really want.

11.) 07 Jul 2015 16:55:57
Im talking about Atletico not wanting the Player.

{Ed001's Note - yeah true, but it should be sorted eventually, and the club are not in a strong financial position, so they have to try and get all they can.}

12.) 07 Jul 2015 20:23:01
I'm guessing Sotons legal position isn't too strong if as now being reported they have upped their offer is true.

Do you know if there is any interest in Alderweireld and whether this is a player Spurs are actively pursuing?
Thanks

ConnorPaxton

{Ed002's Note - There is certainly interest from Spurs.}

09 Jan 2015 11:29:28
Hi Ed's, a friend of mine at the club said they're won't be that much activity and they have spoken about a couple of players but nothing has really moved forwards. He mentioned he thought a couple of players will leave in the next week. Can you shed any light on any of this? Cheers

ConnorPaxton

{Ed002's Note - The club would certainly like to move a couple of players or so on - Adebayor and Paulinho are the obvious ones I have mentioned before. Spurs have spoken to WBA about Berahino and WBA have asked for two player in exchange - again I have explained this. There is interest Delph - the summer might work better, Dele Alli - won't go anywhere, and Rabiot - and I have exp[lained the problem there. A long way to go yet.}

1.) 09 Jan 2015 12:37:26
Thanks Ed002

2.) 14 Jan 2015 01:55:14
Any update about our transfer plans Ed? Any new developments or failures?

{Ed002's Note - There has been a discussion with Andre Ayew this week but nothing is decided. Doria was also discussed but a move to Spurs is probably not possible.}

3.) 14 Jan 2015 17:50:30
Thanks a lot mate!

I'm really disappointed that we haven't signed a striker thus far, for me that was the priority over LB. Of the realistic options I've heard and the one's the ed's have suggested the only forward that appeals to me is Bony and yet I still think he will need a bedding in period, so he can adjust to a different way of playing. What are other people's view's on the strikers we have been linked with that you feel are realistic?

Ed's I know this maybe an impossible question, but are you able to put a time frame on when we will put a bid forward for a striker or potentially be bringing in a striker from what you have heard? I ask this more in hope than expectation.

Thanks once again

ConnorPaxton

{Ed001's Note - timings are impossible to comment on.}

1.) Looks like Destro might be who we get, I'm incredibly pleased about this as he is going to cost about 20mil. It seems like another classic Levy signing of buying expensive prospects but then he might turn out to be a gem!

What I was thinking is if soldado will stay if we bring Destro in? There was talk of a swap deal for guarin a while back although I have no idea why we would try to get another midfielder!

Hi Ed's has there been any further developments regarding Sandro & his potential move to Serie A? I have seen in the press and a few other places Spurs seem to be eyeing cm's. Are there any truth in these reports? In my opinion I think Sandro / Dembele / Paulinho is a pretty strong trio to have at ones disposal.

On a separate note the same friend who mentioned Lamela wants to go to Serie A is saying he has spoken with MoPo or one of his team and is potentially going to give Spurs another try at least until Jan. Are you able to shed any light on your end if this is true?

On a potential summer of movement I would be happy if we didn't have an influx of players and went for something along the lines of:

Ins:
Davies / Bertrand
Caulker
Depay
Bony

Outs:
Naughton, Lennon, Ade, Dawson (great servant but not good enough anymore imo), Chadli (not seen a lot of him but I always left feeling disappointed after seeing him play.
I would keep Rose but as a winger as he can cross a ball and would be a decent squad player even though he can't defend to save his life.

cheers,
ConnorPaxton

{Ed008's Note - Their was interest from Napoli but it looks like their looking at Lucas Leiva now instead on Loan, Sandro is one of Spurs best player they'd be stupid to sell him.. Agree with Sandro-Paulinho-Dembele trio in midfield would suit Lamela and Erikson more. Never understood why Caulker was sold tried to find out if he had a clause to return to Spurs I think you've got the Outs right maybe one of Sigurdsson or Holtby neither have impressed.

1.) 09 Jul 2014 21:55:22
I would definitely keep Holtby, especially over Siggurdson.

{Ed008's Note - Both similar players it just comes down to preference.

2.) 09 Jul 2014 23:07:14
Everybody loves Holtby but he's always flattered to deceive. One or two nice passes and goals against Villa and Fulham but, generally only warrants the tag of 'potentially decent' or 'tries hard' to date. He was cheap, he's young and has a good attitude, we're a long way from him being another Modric or even half as good.
Siggy a real strange one, never going to be first choice starter but does pop up with big goals and is fairly solid.
Chadli may come good, some signs of promise in a debut season where we were disorganised, pretty poor and without a system the players understood for the most part.

Thanks Ed - SS reporting Bony isn't going anywhere which is a shame imo. Really hope we don't end up with a panic buy forward, really hoped we would have this sorted by now.

I hope the rumours are false, I rate Holtby and think he could be an important part of our squad this season with his versatility and his hard graft on the pitch!
