40 min gone and we are 1 down.
I'm fed up of this slow poor football

1.) 07 Dec 2013
Another miserable fan, Joy!
If your fed up go support someone else we don't need or want you as part of THFC enough said!

2.) 07 Dec 2013
1985 this is a site of opinions and I said mine. If u dnt like it dnt read or reply to it. Simple.
Anyway a better second half. How many chances does Defoe want?

3.) 07 Dec 2013
Super spurs!

Feeling good again. Big game now v looserpool next week.

4.) 07 Dec 2013
We need to start and get behind the team.

5.) 07 Dec 2013
I love that saying "it's a site for opinions" so basically your saying your argument is valid even though it doesn't help the team or is at all constructive critisism of the team we love. Do any spurs fans actually SUPPORT the team or do we just look for the next reason to moan about our great side?

That said it was a very good performance by the players. Defoe looked lethal although let himself and the side down by not scoring a hat trick, Lennon was amazing good to see him back, Dembele had a very good game and should be proud of himself, Holtby, what a player, I can't wait till he grows as a player because he can become a Spurs great, Townsend looked good when he came on, Capoue was solid at the back out of position and Walker terrorised them most of the game well done lads. On a negative note Lloris made a blunder time to get a new keeper!

6.) 07 Dec 2013
' Defoe looked lethal'! Lmao. Really. He starts 2 matchs amd scores erm, zero. Easy chances that Soldado would of scored. Defoe always goes on about starting but he always flops.

7.) 07 Dec 2013
Soldado looks lethal every week, in fact Arry's Sandra looked lethal, didn't score any goals though!
I think every supporter on this site supports our team, through thick and thin, doesn't mean they can't voice an opinion though . You say Defoe looked lethal, I say he missed three chances that a good striker wouldn't of, whose right? As long as we keep our opinions on this site, then that's what it's here for!

8.) 07 Dec 2013
Defoe looked lethal as in he was in great positions made brilliant thought out runs throughout the game and should've, not could've, had a hat trick. So yes the fact he hit the post twice shows how lethal he could've been. On another day he would've got them but he didn't get the luck, so yeah "looked lethal" was the correct way to phrase it. You say who's right well, who knows but I'm sure the players and the club would prefer us to look at the positives of our team so when we get to games our frustration from talking in pubs, at work or on sites like these doesn't bring a negative attitude to the lane. These things do spill into the stands whether you believe it or not!

Crafty, Defoe has scored zero, correct well done top of the class for you. But also in them games we have won both and scored 2 in each so maybe Defoe's great movement or urgency to get the team up the field using his pace might have been a contributing factor but no obviously having a striker standing in the box waving his arms at everyone would have more of an impact. Soldado hasn't been nothing special (in his own words) so why does he deserve to start over Defoe? Because he's a new "big" signing, that is the only reason. I want Soldado to do well, I wanted him to start today but he didn't and we won. Why would any fan be negative?

9.) 07 Dec 2013
Im just saying Defoe ain't lethal, far from it. He didn't score, again, when it was on a plate, again. Our tactics have been more positive so I wouldn't say its down to Defoe opening up the game. He should of scored, he didn't.

I support spurs as much as the next man. i'm entitled to say what I want. To say the players pick up on is stupid. If I want to moan I will just like any other fans.

10.) 07 Dec 2013
Why do all the ex players commenting always say that defo is a natural finisher.

The chances that guy misses is unreal.

11.) 07 Dec 2013
But he was lethal beginning of last season when he was the guy grabbing the goals and the glory then he got injured and we struggled without him. Short memories us fans. Defoe scores goals there is no doubt about it that's why he would make a great impact sub. Inside the box outside the box he can get them and always has. So saying he's not lethal shows your knowledge of the game. Problem with Defoe is he scores in patches not consistently throughout a season.
How do you know that our tactics have not had more effect as a result of Defoe's impact in the game? A line striker making runs, keeping a defence on its toes. I'm not saying he's directly responsible or that is the case but it's possible.

"To say the players pick up on this is stupid" Two words bud Pot and Kettle. To say they don't is stupid! Scenario for you, you moan to a mate about Defoe, your mate goes to the game see's the line up with Defoe in squad and groans to himself and is instantly negative towards the outcome of the result so doesn't help create an atmosphere. Now think if 30,000 in the stadium think the same thing, negative atmosphere amongst the fans. The players will feel that anybody who's played football professionally or even Sunday league will tell you that.
I'm sure you will crafty but atleast have a valid argument behind your moan not just because he's not your favourite anymore, this ain't playtime.

12.) 07 Dec 2013
What a load of cods whoop.

Clearly your a fan of football and have not ever played at a decent standard.

Defo never scores against the so called big boys. He goes hiding in those games and makes it so easy for th opposition defence.

Did you see how easy it was for the Sunderland defence today bringing the ball out from the back? Always in the wrong area and never tracking back to assist! Could you see Suarez or Rooney ever being in that position?

13.) 08 Dec 2013
Haha yeah clearly your right northeast spur, why the hell does he play for a EPL team at best he should be in the conference a? He's so bad we bought him twice, mugs! On top of that we still rely on him as one of three strikers we have. What do experienced managers like 'arry and AVB know anyway?
The guy has shown us great loyalty, has sat on the bench behind some great strikers to fight for his chance to shine for us. In his time with us has achieved great things like, scored more European goals for THFC than ANY PLAYER before him. Is our 5th all time top goal scorer in all competitions. Show someone who is going to go down in THFC history a bit of respect!

14.) 08 Dec 2013
Spurs85 the amount of chances Defoe missed last season after his injury was painful. He is greedy and not that good. Two years ago he said he was learning how to place the ball in the net rather than whacking it, well its a bit late considering his age and surely he should of learnt that already and he still doesn't do it!

15.) 08 Dec 2013
I think spurs1985 is defo

16.) 08 Dec 2013
So our 5th top scorer of all time is no good, wow I've heard it all now. So spose Teddy and keane must've been unbelievably bad. That jimmy greaves was also a terrible player right? Thanks for educating me guys, I was thinking the more goals you score the better you were as a striker. Shame we can't get back that Rebrov guy, he barely scored so he is amazing right?

18.) 08 Dec 2013
1985, defoe is a good striker. not a great one. why do u think man u, liverpool, chelsea and arsenal never went in for him?
he broke the european record playing against pub teams we all know the uefa cup is not the standard it used to be. like crafty said, he misses a lot of chances. good chances. his goal to shot ratio is awful. we bought him back because we knew exactly what he could do it wasnt a gamble, like soldado for instance and at that time the standard we were at as a club in the prem, he was ideal

19.) 08 Dec 2013
Yeah ok guys, he's an awful player. All I know is when I tell my kids about him in the future I'll talk about how great he was and how he could get goals from the most unlikely efforts but suppose it goes back to my original point that I support the team not slate them at every opportunity. On top of that I never said he was a great striker just that he looked lethal, but even though he's not he's still been a great servant and even if you guys won't I'll still show him respect as he's given our team many years service and done well in his time. This also shows what I mean by lack of loyalty from our fans. Next time a top player asks to leave don't moan about thier loyalty as you guys show none in return, it's always about the new kid on the block!

20.) 08 Dec 2013
Really?? loyalty?? why did he leave for portsmouth in the first place?? because he was playing second fiddle to robbie keane. didn't want to stay and fight for his place, opted to move instead

21.) 08 Dec 2013
Really? Yes! He's spent 9 years of his career at THFC tell me apart from Lennon, which other current player can say that? I think it was a case of spurs wanting him to go as much of him wanting to leave if I remember back. I mean like you said he was second fiddle to Keane so on a Spurs point of view was disposable. If we had offered him more starting time he would've opted to stay unlike others we need I.e Keane, Berbatov, Modric and Bale and they decide they are better than our club.

Anyway I'm bored of this debate and am just glad there is other spurs fans out there who understand the true meaning behind support. I mean would you slate your own child if he was the worst player in his youth team or would you give him the support that might help him get through? Waste of time asking that as the true meaning of support is lost amongst most fans!

22.) 08 Dec 2013
So spurs wanted him to leave? and have no back up? come on get real.
dawson 8yrs
benni 7yrs

we are not saying defoe is total pants far from it. also when he or any other player puts on that shirt we want them to do well. but by trying to convince us that he is a great striker your lieing to yourself

23.) 08 Dec 2013
Haha 1lukes when was I trying to convince you he was a great striker?

My whole point was that Defoe LOOKED lethal and went on to say he let himself and the club down not getting a hat trick. Then people jumped on it saying Defoe isn't lethal so I showed some stats that say the opposite. I also said that I thought he should get more respect from fans as he will go down in history as a top Spurs striker. But never was my point to try convince you he's a quality striker.
