French media are reporting that Capoue has NOT fractured his left fibula. Let's just hope this turns out to be true, but he looked in serious pain, so it may even be ligaments which would be just as bad.

As for last day of the transfer window, the latest news I've come across is that United are, like ourselves, allegedly sniffing around Coentrao, but that Ancelotti has said he's going nowhere.

Damiao's name has been rekindling some interest on this and the Liverpool website, but personally I just don't see it. Hernandez may still be the one upfront that we have the best chance of, although I've also seen us linked with that Joel Pohjanpalo, the Finnish starlet from Helsinki and the Troy Deeney option is intriguing. Juan Mata would be fantastic, but Eriksen will play that role for us, so that is no longer a need in my opinion.

Me? I'm just still reeling from what we've achieved this summer at a net cost of about £2m. Amazing turnaround, although I do have a few concerns about team chemistry and bonding, but we have some great raw talent to play with now. Lamela and Eriksen could be just the sparks we need to link up better with Soldado, who looked very isolated today, I'm sorry to say. (Have to say, I thought Dawson, Dembele and Chadli looked a bit ponderous at times - especially the moment when Daws floundered in the centre circle and got pickpocketed. The sooner Kaboom or Chiriches are up to speed, the better!)

We can't really expect much more of an outlay, and I reckon many of us were crossing our fingers that Coentrao might have been slipped in as a parting gift from Real, but it wasn't to be, meaning United are expressing some interest now. But in all honesty, I think we're done, apart from loan deals to get some of the younger players some playing time. Still can't believe Gomes is on the books. Really like the option of sending Carroll elswehere (Ajax was my preference as I suggested a few weeks ago; I don't think QPR is ideal for him.

Anyway, chins up Spurs fans. The enemy won the battle, not this year's war.

I've been unimpressed with Dembele since he arrived. Not sure what his contribution is over the course of a season . but I'd be surprised if he is till here next season unless he starts to produce

I don't think it's necessary to play Dembele, Paulinho and Capoue in the same team unless we are protecting a lead. Against Norwich it would be interesting to see Paulinho & Dembele in the middle with the creative eriksen operating in the final 3rd, picking the passes that we certainly lacked yesterday. Lennon back on the right with Lamela on the left(rotating with Lennon) and Soldado up top.

Expect to see Eriksen replace Dembele and Sandro to slot in and replace the injured Capoue
